RIP Denuvo

Prey, Tekken 7, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, Unravel, NieR: Automata and Hitman were all cracked within the same week.
Where were you when Denuvo was absolutely fucking destroyed?

What are you smoking?

...

He either meant month or he's talking about recent patches that were also cracked. Probably the latter.
Several of the games he listed were cracked this week, though.

...

Did they crack cishonored 2? My expectations are tempered, but I still wanna give it a whirl.

And now baldman claimed he cracked tekken 7 with automatic program written by him doing most of the work.

The game has problems, but definitely not to the point you shouldn't play it. They're all story related.

yeh its cracked

They did crack it.

Good, if they're willing to go off the cliff I hope it finally pisses off the normalfags enough.

Normalfags will swallow every malware, disk shredder and bloated filesize you throw at them as long as you let them play the game in a couple of clicks.
But if you add INCONVENIENCE to the process and demand some extra effort to play? You best believe the normalfag audience will seek games elsewhere

Post yfw blockchain based DRM requires online descentralized key-checking

...

...

This bullshit preventing me from playing Insurgency AND Unturned related.
and
This one even had the normalfags screeching.

Worst part is, that shit is spreading EVERYWHERE.

Is it really? I thought BattlEye was something that came around when Punkbuster became obsolete and now BattlEye is being replaced by EasyAntiCheat.

Though I have no idea what the difference between all of these are, they all just seem like super invasive programs that I would rather didn't exist even if it meant I would run into the occasional cheater in an online shooter or something.

I hope Namco and Square get rid of it.

They barely catch any cheaters anyways. No wonder every AAA game double dips with anticheat and adds fucking Fairfight to it. Now, fairfight is another incredibly stupid fucking way of banning people. It actually scans your scores, and bans you if you're too good.

But what if mining doesn't grant you game-keys, but currency that can be used to purchase DLC. Game keys are derived from the first block, mined by the company itself, and it's keys are distributed upon purchase of the game with real money

The thing about patching out Denuvo is that it forces the publisher to admit that they've been beaten by the pirates, and they sure as shit don't wanna do that, no way, now how. Namco and Square most likely won't patch it out of their games until circumstances like Denuvo's bankrupcy or something force them too.

but when Bethesda did it with doom, everyone was praising them

...

NO

DENUVO WAS SUPPOSED TO IMPOSSIBLE TO CRACK

WE WERE SO CLOSE TO BEATING PEDO PIRATES

...

Yeah, same with Dark Souls 3. Usually when I run into a hacker they're good natured and have some shiny shit to show off. Sometimes they kill you and othertimes they'll suddenly railgun into the abyss and you win. Never run into them in my world only by invading them. Good times, and almost always a good laugh.

When it comes to PvP like CS, the only time I'm not happy with the tried and true votekick system is when
That shit happened to me in insurgency, which is why I stopped playing it the first time. Not dealing with that cancer.

Amazing what will they think of next.

Piracy was already beaten with the dreamcast

Not cracked, but there's a keygen for it.

Should be noted that STEAMPUNKS don't crack, they just have a keygen they can use on Denuvo games.
A lot of the other scenefags don't like that they're releasing games with keygens, not actual cracks, as that's what everyone else is doing, but since the scene rules don't specify it must be cracked, they can't nuke STEAMPUNKS.

I couldn't care less about the scene as it has been dying for years, but simply figuring out how to get past the legitimacy check and still having Denuvo running however many processes in the background isn't a good thing.

the best part is they are still screwing themselves even if denuvo is not cracked

it's just Skidrow that whines while releasing cracks for shitty indies

So what does Denuvo do that's so bad? I heard it impacts performance and used to fuck up your ssd's.

Paradox is so garbage.

CPY also whinged, Fitgirl (non-scene) and Baldman (non-scene) expressed their preference for actual cracks and many pirates don't want Denuvo on their machines in any form, paid or not.

SSD fucking is unconfirmed.
RiME was found to be slowed down by an immense amount due to Denuvo, and the cracked version ran much better, so a game with that many checks/hooks might fuck up an SSD quickly, but the other Denuvo games might only be shaving off a week or two off a drive's lifespan.
It's hard to test, so you've got to take both sides with a grain of salt.

Other than that, it does send the company a detailed list of your hardware (that's how they generate the unique ID), so it's not a stretch to assume they sell that along with IP, Steam account etc.

probably it was just RiME's dev being incompetent while setting denuvo

I did not see both Baldman's and CPY statements on keygens

Might of been them thinking "more checks = more days uncrack :DDDD", but still shows the system has the capability to fuck up the game.
In one of their NFOs from the past few months. Might of been the Andromeda update; can't recall. They didn't outright call them out, but they said something to the tune of "Good work, but at least we actually crack it :^)"
Baldman's response was a forum post on cs.rin.ru that may or may not of been him, but the user understood what Denuvo was doing under the hood, and was saying something similar to me, that cracks/bypasses are better than simply accepting it.

I'll have a look now for both of those so I'm not talking out of my arse.

How will Denuvo ever recover?

when are they gonna crack ghost recon wildlands?
I wanna live out my /k/ wardrobe autism

This, I still haven't bought automata due to it having denuvo, I miss the days of CD keys those were tolerable unless you lost your key and didn't write it down like an idiot.

Denuvo likely won't recover.
I give them three years before they go bust.

it's the wrong game then

call me when we're at black flag levels of getting cracked weeks before release
also when someone figures out how to emulate the always online portion of games like the AC fleet mini gayme cause can you really call hitman cracked when you can't unlock anything in it? I'd like to talk about that game but as long as you can't unlock anything while offline any conversation will get drowned out by the screechy jews here

...

I bet this faglord is a SJW and a pedo. Reminds me of the neofaggot mod who liked going on tirades about how pedos are monsters and then he got arrested for having child porn.

I really hope companies pay loads of money for their shitty protection, because they deserve to suffer for their retardation. Is there any estimate on how much it costs to implement denuvo in a vidya?

Crack or no crack, boycott games that get bundled up with Denuvo. Say no to malware, let alone paying for it.

AAA title (bigger 500k units on PC): 100.000 EUR
AA title (smaller 500k units on PC): 50.000 EUR
Indie title (less than 100k units on PC): 10.000 EUR
Or
Per unit pricing:
2.500 EUR setup fee.
0,15 EUR per unit reported monthly based on Steam,… owners.
(optional) cost covering for on-site visit if requested.

aw thats cheaper than I expected if thats true. where did you get those numbers ?

Would it be possible to crack Denuvo and add it to a game for free?

Every time.

A true celebration indeed.

Holy shit my fucking sides. Those people are fucking retarded.

You should have given the feel guy that silly denuvo hat.

...

are they actually doing the easy mode thing?

feels good man, but I get it, lots of you live in poorer countries. Everyone has to make do, and I sure as fuck wouldn't pay for a PC game ever again.

Good maybe devs can finally fucking release on GOG.

Whatever its shit.

There used to be a kid in my class who sold bootleg Dreamcast games during recess. Thanks to him the only game I owned legitimately was Ready 2 Rumble.

Pedo pirates?

the fat fuck in the red chair on the top row ruins the webm tbh

Yeah when the Dreamcast came out writing blank cd roms was finally becoming affordable for consumers. Sega launched a console when the bootleg market was exploding into a huge black market industry.

Every time I see this post there are more layers to the joke.

that's doubly ironic because it's supposed to be a smug response to a ridiculous claim supported by strong beliefs : here that pirates will always find a way.
This post is like an onion.

I'm not sure I follow your logic.

...

I can tell you are the one living in a poorer country and are simply projecting it onto others.

Your writing style reminds me of this Argentinian that shitposted on the board for a couple weeks saying consoles have the best games/ports and that PCs get scraps as only true gam3rz play on consoles.
He also thought he was white, which was hilarious.

...

what's it like arguing in slogans, jew?

What's it like shitposting on Holla Forums when they want you dead?

...

Its a win win I guess, NEVER EVER memes need to be brought back to life

do they just bypass denuvo or does it completely remove denuvo from the game?

I'm just waiting on you to justify wasting all that money on a platform with no games.

What happened with that lawsuit denuvo was facing for using unlicensed software?

...

Consolefag Denuvocuck can't even state a fact to save his life

...

fake, said licensed software devs said they have been working with denuvo as agreed and made a statement about this on their website

reddit race holocaust when?

All the pirated games on my HDD say otherwise and digital is only shit on consoles because they're stuck to one shitty system
I'm playing Vivisector: Beast Within right now thanks to digital distribution even if
Enjoy playing Scott Pilgrim vs The World on your copy protected console you cuck.
FTFY
Heres a small whiff of games and genres that you'll never get on your console or will be mechanically or subpar content wise
Endless Space 2, Total War, Mount & Blade Bannerlord, MechWarrior 5, Unreal Tournamment 4, Midair, Serious Sam 4, Firepro Wrestling, NuCom, Civ, Xenonauts, Phoenix Point, Bard Tales 4, Ready or Not, Wargame, Grimoire, Rising Storm 2, Ultimate General, Stellaris, Exanima, Divinity Original Sin 2, Mordhaus, Frozen Synapse 2, Tropico
All the consoles nowadays have the same shitty fucking inputs that have barely changed since 1994, theres no reason for console exclusivity beyond brand kike shit.
Seems like you're mad people are enjoying games that used to be exclusive due to regional differences that can now be bypassed thanks to cheap digital distribution and internet file sharing.
I can now play both PC focused games and console focuser games while you're stuck to AAA garbage and single hand counted Japanese exclusives.

Stay cucked Buddy Boy

I never got the consolefag meme of them owning it physically, despite both PC and consoles having the game on a disk
having the game data on a disk that works on consoles = physical
but
having the game data on a disk that works on PC =/ physical? I don't get it

Denuvo not even once.

The most you'll get with a console weeaboo autist is handwaving away of any game or genre that goes against their narrow, sony tunnel vision view.

GOG doesn't allow DRM.

But you're right. Steam gives pubs the ability to constantly spy/track the customer and a bunch of other Jewish tricks. GOG is a relic of the past.

I only play weebshit and a lot of VNs are PC only. In Japan they are all physical games, it's really cool.

Hick

It's obfuscated software without any solid knowledge of how it functions. It does nothing for you as a customer. Denuvo constantly lies about how it does whatever it is it does.

Accepting Denuvo on a game you fucking PAID for is the height of corporate cuckslavery.

A quickie.

Alternative version.

...

I haven't pirated a PC game in nearly a decade however I'm considering pirating Tekken 7 since I'm not paying money for denuvo and Bamco seems pretty resolute in not removing it. I thought DRM was supposed to make MORE people buy their game?

The sad thing is devs will either keep using denuvo even though it doesn't do anything or just go back to putting steamworks DRM into every game. The shareholders and higher ups do not care. They just see not having DRM as losing money because they are retarded old assholes who just think they are stopping thieves.

Not Denuvo. I'm a huge fucking weeb and was hyped as hell for Nier and Berseria. Instant I heard they had Denuvo, I promptly ignored both.

Good going publishers. Keep losing those sales.

This unironocally. I only got doom after the denvo was taken out.

Honestly, I'd prefer that. It's still shit, but it doesn't do half the shit denuvo does, so good games would still be worth it.

Fake news, denuvo is uncrackeable.

Steamworks isn't near as offensive. It's effortlessly cracked and Valve knows it. They don't care, it's a DRM Placebo. Rather not have it, but if it'll make publisher stop being fucking retarded with other DRM, I'll accept it.

The unfortunate reality is that for every one of you (and me, and probably the majority of Holla Forums) there are 10 people who either do not care, are corporate cocksuckers who will angrily defend Denuvo, or they don't even know what Denuvo or any kind of DRM is. The last group is probably the largest. I've "fixed" the computers of friends and family even though I don't really know jack shit about them aside from some very basic principles. Each time, the amount of adware, scam antiviruses, weird shit with Cyrillic characters, and useless programs I removed was obscene. But these people pay for most of their software, and that is why Denuvo and things like it will remain profitable, even if it doesn't actually help devs. I don't know for sure, but I would wager that the sales lost from Denuvo are imperceptible.

Yeah but do those people actually buy PC games? Hell most of the time when I'm fixing computers like that it's because people are refusing to pay for software and looking for free alternatives that just infest your computer with shit.

I would have bought nier if it didnt have denuvo, turns out the game started constantly crashing for me after about 4 hours of gametime so I would have been screwed over regardless. I guess I can thank denuvo for making me dodge that

Most Sony brand loyal autists will only talk about barely interactive Western garbage though.

Why?

...

...

...

Remember when Denuvo threads were started by Denuvo shills to harvest frustration screenshots? This nigger does.

...

Was he jerking off to Earthbound? Typical.

I mean come on. Most playstation 2 games won't see it to the computer.

...

No developer can be that retarded.

that one guy on the left seems pretty into it

...

That's commie-tier software right there, no doubt.

Suppose a new sort of anti-piracy software was created lacking the downsides of denuvo. Do you think there would be similar levels of distaste towards it as there is of denuvo?

DRM had years over years over years to show their value, to show they were able to make PC sell games, yet they failed miserably.

And then steam came and showed that if you actually make easy to buy games, people will actually buy em, because unless you lived on a big city on a first world country, actually finding the PC game you wanted for a decent price in a store was next to impossible.

Of course, something less cancerous than steam would be nice, but we got what we got.

Got a better one

Was a Denuvo hat like that ever made or created?
I'd buy one.

source please

Almost 16 years and this still manages to make my sides hurt

Dont mix the devs with the publishers and the higher ups. Devs dont give a fuck (unless they're Kaldaiden tier autists), they just want to get paid after all the shit they went through.

Checks can't fuck up a SSD's lifespan. SSDs wear out due to WRITES, not reads.

There's no way to make an efficient (efficient as in, it takes a while to crack) anti piracy system unless it's through obscurity, obfuscation and complexity like Denuvo.
And security through obscurity has never been reliable so there's not much they can do.

That's reddit The one in the back facebook

Those are some pretty big eyebrows…
