also that's not what hedonism means. Epicurus was a hedonist and expounded upon the hedonist idea that pleasures must take into account pains taken to get them.
Schopenhauer actually says the same thing, but concludes that pains in life overwhelm the pleasures, thus it is impossible to have a good life and thus we shouldn't bring people into existence.
