Technology is in practice highly ideological because it's shaped by prevailing ideologies. The form that technology takes is inherently reflective of the desires of the time, which is in turn reflective of overarching ideology.

The user-tracking technology of Facebook isn't some neutral algorithm, it's an ideological statement about (against) privacy in the name of capitalism. Technology is as politically neutral as economics.

Don't obsess over privacy, it isn't something that is great, privacy breeds hypocrisy and corruption.

well my personal philosophy is that there is the meat of humanity, and the idea of humanity. It's the Ship of Theseus argument for humanity, at what point does one stop being human? At what point are you simply an idea of a human? If you no longer are human but think like a human, does it even matter then?

My view is that humanity is better as a concept than a fact, because humanity, like a philosophy, changes over time. We evolved from single celled organisms to self aware creatures, and that evolution will continue, either through natural genetic changes or technology. At some point, Human Sapiens Sapiens of our current era will end, or at the very least, other subspecies will evolve, when that happens, we will be forced to redefine the concept of humanity in order to remain inclusive and united as people.

Not really. If it was ideologically neutral, the prevailing ideology would have no effect. Instead if embodies the ideology of the age.
Now when you've got a good prevailing ideology, that's a virtuous circle, but when you don't then criticizing technology on the basis of underlying ideology it embodies is pretty harmless.
