Honestly, a much better idea… Lets just legally immigrate the entire country of Mexico (i.e. annex) and then build a smaller, but much taller and more effective wall on mexicos southern border to keep out all of the dirty south americans.

This is stupid, Mexico has such strict immigration laws because it was pressed to be by the United States, and it's actually a point of leverage that Mexico uses ("If you get strict with our immigrants, we'll break our treaty and let loose all central americans")

In a technical sense immigrants aren't "illegal" unless they're from a nation we are at war with and even in that case considerations about the specific person need to be made. "Illegal immigrant" is a stupid term.

What is illegal is hiring immigrants and yet I never hear dumb fuckers say we should go after those who employ these people even though that would solve the problem of immigration faster than trying to track down thousands of people a day.
