To all you anti DPRK liberals in here, what part of the DPRK is not a democratic republic? In it's constitution it states that the state is PUBLIC property, in contrast in Saudi Arabia the state is the Monarchs personal property. This is what makes it a republic. Whats more is that it follows an organisational structure that takes inspiration from Maoist policy, this is what makes it a peoples republic. It also has an electoral policy, while slightly flawed, has significant impact on the regime policy based on results. Now if we want to consider certain historical movements democratic (like renaissance era merchant republics, Indian governments, and some modern era non liberal democracies) North Korea fits this definition quite well, it is just not a liberal democracy. While what you could define these definitions as is certainly up to debate, the name of the democratic peoples republic of Korea is far from ridiculous and fits extremely well within academic context.
Also a reminder that socialism is state capitalism The owners are the workers and get excess production shared share between. In any system the production of resources must be equal or exceed or it doesn't work. The workers have a body (government) leadership which makes policy for worker conditions.
Nice try, I will laugh when based Assad takes back Rojava.
Austin Ward
Kek, first comes the denial!
Joshua Watson
You anarchkiddies(liberals) are not smart enough to make your own arguments
William Lee
I've read it, twice. Just because you say the workers own the means of production doesn't make it so. Capitalism is also still present in NK.
You're just mad that you aren't in control. Typical of tankies.
Alexander Diaz
Nice shitpost.
Jayden Rivera
Also, present a good socialist critique of Rojava (Now the Federation of Northern Syria).
Pro tip: You can't.
Nolan Scott
Where?
I don't like it it's a shitpost! I provided substance and arguments, actual discussion. All other threads on this site is circle jerk low effort threads. You just don't want anyone to rustle your jimmies.
Connor Bennett
You were just provided two sources. Let's try again.
I'm also looking forward to the proof of how the Ba'athist regime is more socialist (worker ownership of the MoP) than Rojava.
John Carter
> It also has an electoral policy, while slightly flawed
10/10 shitpost.

It's not going to work buddy, stop trying to phish
Xavier Hernandez
You could easily argue that the DPRK isn't socialist, is capitalist, is revisionist, is racialist etc but if you actually think its a monarchy you're pretty retarded and probably don't even know what that means.
Levi Jenkins
...
Asher Gonzalez
they've had three generations of the same family ruling, how is that not a monarchy?

Southern gooks sure as hell can't compete with Best Korea on qt women

To be honest, even South Koreans admit North Korean girls are naturally more beautiful. Same in China, they generally think northern Chinese are more beautiful and southern Chinese are a bit homely.
Joshua Morris
southern gooks are corrupted by capitalism and americanization. They look like they consist of 50% plastic and they also look like sluts, while the northern ones looks pure and natural.
Grayson King
Capitalist liberalism corrupts everything

3d waifu said the dprk looks nice and wouldn't be opposed to living there. the propaganda isn't working too well on the normies

but for some reason asians are corupted more by it
Benjamin Sullivan
Have you fucking seen European women?
James Morales
Capitalist countries have attractive women, communist countries have broken women with worn hands from labour. You are believing propaganda from a forced labour dictatorship shithole. What a pathetic loser
Jason Miller
Capitalist societies have populations corrupted by hedonism, materialism and liberalism. In NK there are firm gender roles and men are complementary to the woman.
Nicholas Martin
How can you achieve socialism through the shackles of "traditional" gender roles?
Kevin Scott
I don't see how the two are contradictory.
Liam Richardson
offcourse i have but atleast many off them still looks natural unlike the south korean or japanese chicks
why the fuck not?

Your picture of South vs North indicates otherwise though? The "North Korean" barely looks like a woman there
Cameron Barnes
The DPRK has nothing to do with the left at all, the theory is purely a racial theory, the country has nothing to do with even fucking MLism. Any support from the authoritarian left "MLs, Stalinists, Maoists etc.." to the DPRK is a damning proof that you are nothing but a rhetoric whore that doesn't care about actual politics, economics, and leftist theory
"Democratic republic" indicates a representative government which has representatives elected by the citizens. When there is a single party which appoints rulers without free elections, as in all communist countries, it cannot possibly either democratic OR republican. No nation that I am aware of which bears the words "democratic republic" in that exact order withing the name has ever qualified as being either.
Christian Foster
It's almost as if the term is just a propaganda label, lol

Why would being forced into joining the army or working in a factory be a good thing

They officially do have multiple parties. The GDR officially had multiple parties, too.

"Serve the people?"
And yeah I don't want to die for politicians or vague ideals, sorry
Ayden Cooper
Not really, they're just front groups in both examples, not independent parties. But as Rick Wolff said, introducing true multiparty democracy isn't the solution, because in the GDR (and North Korea) they'd just be manipulated in the same way they're manipulated in private capitalism.
Elijah Ross

When the army does infrastructure and feeds people, then I'll consider it "serving" "da people" and maybe something everyone should do.

Well outside a war situation, a socialist republic's military would be used for that. I mean it was even used for that in the USSR, which wasn't getting into wars left and right, unlike the US was (and is). And yeah, men and women would be drafted, probably after secondary school and the numbers would be used to build a strong defense and to do socially useful things like building and distributing as necessary, and kids would be doing useful things in these years instead of just goofing off and smoking pot. Don't be such a lazy pussy.
Jose Howard
I don't see how this would be a good thing, it sounds rather repressive and how is "defense" "useful"?
Lincoln Sanders
I don't see how this would be "repressive", it would prevent some military caste from forming and would make the public intimately connected to the military and have a vested interest in it not going awry. It'd ideally be the "serve the people directly" years for citizens. Also if you dont think defending yourself from attack is useful, you're delusional
Jonathan Martinez
That sounds more like a military dictatorship than socialism and sounds very anti-freedom if you ask me. You don't need much to defend yourself
Oliver Baker
How the hell is it a military dictatorship, I don't advocate the military run society or anything, I'm just talking about a peoples military in a socialist state
Parker Howard
At least they got the right beauty standards in north korea.
Short hair best hair.
Levi Howard
You call that shit attractive? Unwieldy long hair, caked on makeup and ridiculous unpractical bodily ideals?
Brody Fisher
Well in America it's unpractical because Americans are obsese fatasses. And North Koreans are starving chink gimps
David Richardson
Everyone having to go into the army to "defend the nation" and do "useful shit" sounds like a military junta to me
Nathaniel Sanders
Then you know jack shit about military juntas, almost all of which came from military castes and career officers, usually anti communist and right wing. You'd know this if you had actually read about them, which shouldn't be hard, given they've been numerous since the start of the 20th century
Samuel Gutierrez
I thought socialism was about maximizing freedom?
David Ward
Social responsibility is necessary for freedom to mean anything, come on now
Ryan Morris
Enjoying fucking your fat wife with short hair and a pale spotty face I guess
Michael King
How is this "social responsibility"?
Jose Lee
Have fun with your 32 party-approved haircuts, then. I love tankies who fetishize aesthetics and prioritize them over actual human liberation - I'm sure that when Marx explicitly said that that gender roles would become meaningless under the industrial order, he really meant "defend an increasingly obsolescent division of labour and uphold reactionary social mores which lack a serious justification in the modern economic system even as we blow capitalism and all formulas away"
Oliver Sanchez
Discipline, social utility, service, stuff like that
Jayden Garcia
That sounds pretty fucking repressive if the state can just enforce shit like that. especially through a fucking military
Gabriel Price
Then literally every state on Earth that has ever existed is beyond repressive
Luis Walker
People will have to pull their weight in socialism and that includes serving in a socialist military if so needed
Robert Torres
Sounds rather control-freakish
Charles Bell
Well, yeah
Adrian Williams
Well I don't agree with that, I'm just disputing the idea that people need to "pitch in" for society
Asher Perez
But officially, yes.
Colton Ross
That doesn't matter. It's not an actual multiparty system
Gavin Evans
Everyone should pitch in you lazy fuck
Bentley Reed
isn't that lecture redundant when you read the book?
but I have to admit DPRK girl looks kinda cute. south Korean girl looks like a cheap slut.
Jeremiah Young
The only cure for yellow fever is more asians.
Gavin Ramirez
Its the same girl lol
Charles Torres
Republic is the most useless term because yeah turns out three generations of the same family leading a place still counts as a republic because they're not calling themselves nobility.
Luis Gomez
The DPRK doesn't even claim to be communist anymore
They realized that not even their own people would buy it at this point
Now their only official "ideology" is Juche, which basically comes down to "the Kims are your supreme rulers, do whatever they say"
Eli Bell
...
Cameron Jones
Apparently NK is considered a "family dictatorship" as opposed to a monarchy (and it's not the only nation with that going on).
Now what the difference between "family dictatorship" and monarchy actually is I couldn't tell you, but that's what they're calling it.
Colton Peterson
...
Henry Butler
I should note that the "they" who are calling it that are political scientists and stuff
But anyways according to the Wikipedia article the only real difference is that family dictatorships use titles that are normally associated with elected positions (e.g. president, prime minister) and the requirement that the successor be a member of the family is implicit rather that explicit
Nathan Martin
Political Science 101; democracy is characterized by competitive elections - variance in what party/faction wins. A republic is any governmental system in which transfers of power are not hereditary.
The DPRK lacks competive elections; no other party has ever won high office. Leadership has also only been transferred to other members of the ruling Kim family when the incumbent ruler dies. For all intents and purposes, they're a monarchical state that's replaced the religious component of "divine command" with some kind of weird, near fascist-tier sense of nationalism and militarism.
Seems like she's just out of bed. Which is cute because, especially in comparison to the women wearing make up having raised eyebrows, which is quite intimidating, it makes her seem childish and approachable. But it's only a good look in that context.
Anywhere else it would make the woman look dishevelled and disorganised.
