If the Nintendo Play Station didn't fall through not only would it have dealt a severe blow to Nintendo, a blow that Sega already suffered with the CD, but PlayStation as a console wouldn't have existed. Without that competition, the Saturn would have likely done much better in its generation, which would mean the Dreamcast wouldn't have been rushed out so early to make up for Sega being a non-factor for half a decade. If the Dreamcast wasn't rushed out so early, it would have been more powerful and more able to compete with the Gamecube. Don't forget, the PS2 wouldn't have existed. And if the Dreamcast wasn't already failing, the Xbox wouldn't have had all that Sega support that pushed it early on. In fact, the Xbox might not have existed at all.

tl;dr: If the Nintendo Play Station got made, Sega would still be around and PlayStation and Xbox wouldn't exist.
