Don't you wish the PS2 times were back?
I sure do.

Setting up a PS emulator is a lot harder than I remember.
I remember doing it in less than an hour years ago, but trying it recently I needed a whole bunch of other shit, BIOS files, configuration files, GUI's for the emulator, etc.
I don't think this stuff has changed in the last 15 years, epsxe was already using the same plugins in 2002
I keep my PS2 downstairs hooked up to my TV. I had to repair the disc tray last year. I never thought I'd care about it so much when I first got it way back when.
Too bad I've already played almost everything that caught my eye on the ps2 library
My ps2 died, that gray brick performed 8 years of service before it decided to take a well deserved break. By then I already had a gayman peecee so at least I could emulate

the most joy of exploring a platform's library is trying odd games that you may not be interested in at a glance or based on what it's described as, but after you give the game a solid chance and resolve its mechanics and design motifs and come to understand how it plays. Just sticking to what interests you on a surface level cripples your tastes. Kinda what gives a lot of Holla Forumsirgins here the most boring trio of tastes - deus ex, stalker, and doom. that or the codex fags who just jerk off to morrowind and vtmb. very boring.
That jump from PS1 to PS2 was so fucking good. Everything running so fucking fast and shiny.
Soul reaver 2 is so terrible, but the huge technical leap from the last game made me love it so much.
If you have a fat you can hook up a HDD to greatly extend the life of the laser.
The PS2 has loads of hidden gems. It's worth giving a second look at its library.
