Fascism is only ever a vehicle used to destroy a society that is getting increasingly class-conscious.

Corporatism is closer to nationalizing business with heads of business acting more as advisors on a council. If you removed the bourgeois element from corporatism it wouldn't be much different from syndicalism since corporations are organized much like syndicates. Laissez faire capitalism isn't really compatible with corporatism. It's not coincidence that Mussolini was originally a socialist before he became a fascist. As for Nazi Germany, it was more like an authoritarian social democracy as opposed to fascism in it's original form.

i disagree, in many ways fascism itself is somewhat class conscious. fascism represents a "third way". it recognizes the existence of the class struggle ("it's a rigged system folks") - but instead of resolving it by abolishing class, it seeks to resolve it through class collaboration ("i'm a businessman, i know how the system works, and i'll make it work for you")

again, i don't think trump is fascism, and i used it a bit loosely in my post. just because i think there are important parallels that are useful for understanding our current situation, does not mean that i am ignorant of the huge number of differences between historically existing fascism and trump. there will be no gas chambers, there will (probably) not be a suspension of liberal democracy (although it will be gimped somewhat), etc.
