Why are blue-collar baby boomers so classcucked?

I just had a heart-to-heart with my retired blue-collar UNION WORKER dad, which was unproductive as I figured. Baby boomers are hard-headed and think they know better than their millennial kids. He says that I am not living up to my potential because I am basically a NEET-freeter University graduate. I'm able to cover my expenses (since I live in my dad's basement) and I'm able to put aside some money (I've saved on average $20+CAD per day after expenses).

He's saying I should go back to school and study for a job that is "in demand". I said "what demand?" The economy is fucked. Minimum wage used to be $21USD/hr in 2016 dollars back in the 1960s.

"Well you can do better than those people working at Tim Horton's. Think positive."

"So basically 'fuck you, got mine, who gives a fuck about the poor?'"

"All the new jobs right now are service jobs. They are shipping all these jobs to China and India. And then the Chinese go buy houses and condos here in Canada and drive up the house prices and rents for millennials. First they take our jobs away then they take our houses away. So we gotta live in our fucking parents' basement. And you're telling me to be positive? That's some bullshit that the people in power say to people to keep them in control. Did you know that the two richest Canadians have more wealth than the bottom 30% of Canadians? How is that fair? All these bastards do is buy and sell assets. They don't create anything of value to society. Only labour can create value"

"Things were rough growing up for me too. Millennials are lazy blah blah blah"

"On the Young Turks they reported a study which showed that millennials make 20% less than their parents, pay far more in tuition, far more in rent, are heavily in debt."

"Well the price of everything is going up. Not just tuition."

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! ISN'T THAT THE FUCKING POINT? Capitalism is a fucking Ponzi scheme. My dad has the audacity to say that I am better than this. I'm smart. Then when I drop some knowledge on him, he just dismisses it. The truth is that millennials are smarter than their parents. And the baby boomers sold us under a river.

"Donald Trump is going to take care of the China issue"

"Are you fucking kidding me? He's a fucking billionaire. He doesn't give any fucks. All he is going to take care of are his crony friends."

Porkies gave white male boomers the greatest worker concessions in capitalist history out of fear of the USSR.

But they told boomers they did that because they are white, an inalienable trait. Which is why you see even poor white guys voting GOP even though they're poor because of the neo liberalism the GOP supports

I shouldn't even use the redneck picture because my dad is a WOP, not a redneck. But even blue collar union worker stiff WOPs are buying into the reactionary GOP narrative that millennials are just lazy, fuck the bottom 30%. It's fucking unbelievable.

"work your way up son"
"dude back in the 1960s the people at the bottom were a lot higher up than the people at the bottom now. The game is fucking rigged. It's a fucking Ponzi scheme. Fuck this country. This country is all about the almighty dollar now. Our politicians don't give a fuck. Poor people don't even bother to vote. They just OD on Fentanyl and kill themselves. They lost all hope."
"be positive. you can achieve if you work hard and work smart"

"I voted for the Green Party because at least they want to do something with the Universal Basic Income thing. The NDP (Canada's third-way socdems) sold out"
"The Green Party can't win. Wasted vote"
"Well the liberals and NDP aren't doing jack shit. Who else we gonna vote for? It's either that or we need to start rolling some heads like the Cubans, Russians and Sandinistas"

It just boggles my mind how I can state facts to my boomer dad like "More than 15% of men my age, 30-34, are NOT EMPLOYED"

And all he can say is "do better than them."

LOL

Classic "fuck you, got mine." My dad was a UNION WORKER and he has a BIG FAT UNION PENSION. WHAT THE HELL?!

"I got mine, fuck you guys. Go figure it out" is basically his attitude nowadays. This is a guy who lived under capitalist feudalism in a Mediterranean country. You'd think he'd have labour movement sympathies.

It's like none of the people who are part of the precariat (the 15+% who are not employed + freeters like myself + the ones working shit wage jobs) even bother to speak out because people just shout them down telling them that they are lazy and don't work hard enough.

The 15+% who are unemployed just quietly waste away in their parents' basement and buy drugs. They don't even vote. Let alone do revolution.

I'm the only one who is vocal about how our situation sucks (or at least it feels that way to me). And people just laugh at us or talk shit. And we wonder why Muslim youths join ISIS and why autistic kids are going around shooting people up.

At least in Greece the youth are joining anarchist groups and throwing molotov cocktails at police officers. There's absolutely no revolutionary potential here. You become a social pariah when you speak out about injustice. Everyone just has a "fuck you, got mine" attitude.

If I didn't have the nest egg that I did, I would just become a total menace to society and just become a cyber-criminal. Fuck this society. I feel a vicarious thrill when I see ISIS blow shit up and #blacklivesmatter snipe cops or autistic kids going on killing sprees. Or seeing Greek anarchists throw molotov cocktails at pigs.

If I was rock bottom, I would at least do something. Why are all these rock bottom youths not doing anything? They just waste away.

*erm that should say "fascist feudalism". Capitalist feudalism is an oxymoron. Though I don't see how the fuck late-stage capitaism is much different than feudalism at this point to be honest with you

Over the years I've laid out why their reactionary ideology makes no sense (and even how it's contradicted by their personal experience), but their identities are too invested into their belief system for them to get it. If a revolution happens while boomers are still alive, they will probably cause a shitload of trouble.

AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

Do what? They're atomised as fuck.

really makes you think

if this were 1930s Germany he would be Seig Heiling. top kek

oh i forgot the best one
i can't even

I know. I know. We are atomized as fuck. What is it going to take for us to come together and fight for our self-interests? The vast majority of us have just decided to check out of society and in many cases do drugs or become criminals. In many cases, check out permanently. A lot of opiate overdose deaths among young white men are actually suicides.

Social democracy, not the third-way shit, would alleviate a lot of suffering for us at least. Even when young white men my age or younger are completely rock bottom, they resort to drugs and suicide. I am not completely rock bottom myself because my dad is allowing me to live with him rent-free. But if I was homeless, I would probably buy stolen credit cards and bank accounts from the deepweb and purchase bitcoins from bitcoiners (almost all of them are libertarians). And then when the victims find out about the unauthorized purchase, the bank does a chargeback. And the bitcoiner is left without the money and I have their bitcoins (which are irreversible transactions) which I can then sell for cash. I have given a lot of thought to becoming a cyber-criminal scammer. But I have too much to lose right now to resort to that. The credit card/bank account holders will get reimbursed. It's the libertarian bitcoiners that would end up being victims of theft. Stealing from libertarians is OK with me.

>or anything

is that Jimmy Dore? The Young Turks had a story the other day about the divide between millennials vs. baby boomers. Millennials are smarter than their parents. They have access to the internet. But baby boomers act like we are retards and that they know everything. Even though they get their news from the fake news mainstream media. We are far more informed than our parents.

This is the true face of American ideology.

tfw union Italians and Irish all grow up to be reactionary fucks

I've never watched TYT.

This is why I have seriously considered becoming a Menace to Society cyber-criminal. If everyone has the attitude of "fuck you, got mine", why even bother trying to be an honest member of society? Why not be a criminal? I didn't ask to be born an autistic boy in a neurotypical late-stage capitalism world.

Have you ever considered Egoism?

You mean like Max Stirner? I'm not that knowledgeable about his work. Apparently he influenced Karl Marx to some degree. And he's popular on here. How is it that an egoist would be popular on a socialist board?

You're putting way too much effort into this bait.

Memes are why he's usually posted. But most people don't seem to actually read him. I'll upload Ego and His Own when I get home, assuming it's not floating around here already.

Relevant thread ripe for Red pilling

Being in a union in America nowadays doesn't mean shit. I joined to get those big union bucks and so did everyone else. No one gives a fuck about socialism, solidarity, and all that.

OP's writing style, support of social democracy, and use of TYT as a valid source lead to believe he can't be older than 16.

See this is the problem with the left. People who suffer from capitalist alienation are just made fun of and ridiculed. And you wonder why revolution isn't happening. And why instead the people at the bottom of the totem pole decide to just shut up and do drugs and kill themselves.

Don't expect any sympathy from Holla Forums, dumbass.

His concept of spooks is good to understand idpol and as you say, he influenced Marx so it's quite interesting erudition wise, to see how.

On a more trivial side, his thought is summed up into a single book, which makes him easier to integrate than Karl Marx or Bookchin.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. It's become cool and edgy to be an asshole these days. Everyone has a "fuck you, got mine" mentality. So why not become a criminal? Fuck all this solidarity shit. There is no solidarity

Solidarity is a spook is probably something that Stirner would say I bet. lol

You're right, it is cool to be an asshole on the internet and, outside of here, that sucks.
Holla Forums is not going to change that. You're a fucking fool if you expect that.

If the alternative is being banned for typing idiot, i'll go with mean words on the Internet thanks.

Nevermind, fuck your thread, nigger.

Solidarity as a reciprocal relationship is not spooky for it can go with your interests. Sacrificing yourself by solidarity is pretty spooky.

People are assholes period, whether online or not. They are just more upfront about it online.

Just wanna piggy back on the whole "go to school and get a better job" trope a bit as well.

As someone who recently graduated and is now working, I can't believe how shitty schools are at training the new work force. You could remove a great deal of the classes I had to take in engineering and it wouldn't have made a difference in the end – not even fucking kidding. Perhaps I'm exaggerating, but I don't know, its just fucked that you graduate, get a job, and still end up having another 5+ years worth of work to get up to speed to your coworkers because your school wasted your time on a bunch of stupid homework assignments or problems you'll never see again.

This shouldn't happen, if we at least accept and realize that universities are now responsible for training the new work force. Most educators will say "no, that's not the purpose of the college degree," but its a load of bullshit when we look at how heavily professors, TAs, and general faculty have readily adopted capitalist mentalities within the school system.

I think educators need to quit bullshitting young people and admit that their new role is to train the new workforce, because for so long they've played this pretend game that college is the same as it was in the 1900s (e.g., its a place for "personal growth" and "enlightenment," which is complete bullshit – people go to college to get more money, period. Its been commodified, and it happened on their watch, so they need to own this shit, end of story). This excuse of "enlightenment" was always used by profs when people in my classes would lament yet another long winded, pointless math proof to be done on paper, instead of being more realistic and showing us exactly what the fuck is being done by those currently employed in the field.

The end result of this, in my case, is that my "work day" isn't very productive. I've had to constantly go back and review things if not learn entirely new concepts just because my school didn't touch on them, instead they gave me a bunch of archaic math proofs to solve, stressing how "important" they were. In retrospect, a lot of my homework assignments were overly theoretical, not much practicality to them whatsoever. And finally, to add insult to injury, one of that shit has come up at my job. Ever. And it never will. You know what DOES? Basic fucking IT skills. Writing a god damn shell script, for example. Now, I can do that, but nowhere in school did they tell me that my job would demand I become a god-tier sys admin overnight and showed me the path. It's shit like this that colleges are taking for granted, and later on, its workers that have to take their own extra time and money out to tie up the lose ends, on top of all the debt they already accrued to get a degree, just so they could be able to apply for a job. It's fucked up.

Well it is true that back in the 1900s college was not about preparing people for the work force. College was something that was only available for a muh privileged few in society. The sons of wealthy people would go to college for four years (or longer if they pursued a Master's or PhD) in order to become "cultured." And then after graduated, they would take over the family business.

Nowadays people seem to think that college is necessary to prepare you for a job. College was never designed to prepare you for a job. Unless you're studying to become a doctor, lawyer or something like that. Highly-skilled professional jobs. It shows me that even engineering classes are largely useless. It's ridiculous.

There are programming degrees out there, and honestly you shouldn't have expected a CS program to just teach you a bunch of languages and shit

Certifications and generally being a computer dork are better preparation for IT. My school's CS program taught a lot of useful information for people interested in theory or focused on software engineering, but nothing beyond that unless you took certain electives.

Hit too close to home, but I am employed.

($5/hr)

The really astounding thing is how they can love "job creators" so much and buy into the idea that jobs need to be created by rich people, but then they still blame people without jobs for not having jobs. It really outs their ideology as being fundamentally the same thing as superstition. They think it's up to poor people to do the rain dance or whatever to please the mighty job gods so they will bring a good economy.

move out of his basement ya fuckin loser

i don't want to think about it. this was my reality for 2 years and i have multiple close friends who live at home in their boomer parents house (which was bought using gov subsidized jobs that were gotten through gov paid for education and special grants they got from New Society shit) and all they do all day is get ripped off their asses and shitpost on Holla Forums and reddit

And go enrich some bourgeois landlord?

Leftypol on idpol

It'll never stop. You don't focus on the already unionized and leftist labor organizations in the south to help plan, to be mobile, to provide alternatives. You'll get assblasted tears for the Noble American Republican just because the liberals are awful.

At this very moment, you are close to becoming liberals.

Yeah a lot of these NEETs who have checked out of society are potheads. But the more serious matter right now is opiates. As soon as people get their welfare cheque in the mail, they cash it and go buy Fentanyl on the street. A lot of people are buying drugs online anonymously using bitcoin now.

My ex-girlfriend's best friend's boyfriend killed himself at around my age (early 30s) ODing on opiates.

It is fucking tragic what it going on. No one gives a fuck about us. The wasted youth. I'm at a point right now where I just want to see the world burn. ISIS. Autistic mass murderers. #blacklivesmatter killing cops in retalitation for cops killing unarmed black men. I feel like society is getting what it deserves. I hope to fucking God that my city of Toronto will be on ISIS' hit list very soon. I want to see the world burn.

I feel like you were going somewhere with this but I couldn't exactly make out the point you were trying to make tbh

i got down to just before your post and had the same thought

The timing makes it difficult to believe - too many "hey guise it's time tuh get vilunt" threads today

The two main things alphabet infiltrators will do is try to turn people away from effective actions, including violent ones, and direct people toward ineffective actions, especially violent ones that they can arrest you for.

k

Such as?
It's hard not to feel hopeless. Pretty much everyone who is negatively impacted by late-stage capitalism is just checking out of society, wasting away. And the ones who are vocal are told to go away.

Damn OP, you've been brainwashed by the cultural marxist propaganda. You're a perfect example of the 'victim complex entitlement millenial' - stop complaining and stop using the word bourgeois and get that commie crap out of your head.(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

10/10 picture perfect Holla Forums imitation

Agitate, educate, organize. Same as always.

The irony of course is that most Holla Forumsacks are also autistic basement dwellers. And under Donald Trump, they will actually be forced to get a slave wage job. But they are so spooked by race and nationalism so they voted for Trump

Workers these days are too scared to unionize, let alone go on strike. They have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Also late-stage capitalism has a unique situation where a very large segment of the population is unemployed. How are unemployed people supposed to organize? Like I said, 15+% of men my age (30-34) are NOT EMPLOYED.

Is trump getting rid of NEETbux?

The Republicans have the executive, legislative and judicial branch. They will gut the hell out of welfare, food stamps, SSI, Obamacare, etc.

Most of them didn't go to college, started work at 16 and worked 5 days a week.

The past isn't how we remember it.

How does the planned polices compare with the Bush administration's policies? They weren't able to touch many of the programs they wanted to get to if I remember right. Whereas Clinton's welfare reforms smashed a great deal of the welfare systems tangible benefits.

Being unemployed means you have more time to organize though. And we have all kinds of communication services that can be used for organizing.

The point is they still earned more even starting out at the minimum wage and were beneficiaries of the most social democratic period in US history and the most rapid capitalist boom over the past century.

Sometimes, I have a hard time talking to my parents who aren't boomers but early gen-xers that the present isn't quite like the past they remember.

By organizing I guess you don't mean starting a union. How can unemployed people be part of a union?

I wish there was a way for us unemployed to get organized. Even when you get a job after you've been out of one for sometime employers really take that as a license to treat you like shit.

No, unions have pretty much been destroyed. They could only work even hypothetically on a global scale, which is much more difficult. I mean organizing in the sense of creating a parallel society that meets people's needs outside of capitalism. I'm talking using cryptocurrencies, living off the land (including private property) that kind of shit. To be fair we need more theory in this department. The world has changed a lot very recently.

Pls go

The citizens of victorian london went through a capitalist boom like no other. To conclude from that their lives were enviable compared to our great recession is remembering the past through the present.

The working class person of today can afford things that were luxuries in the 60's, cars, televisions, phones, flights, holidays, fridges..

Bitcoin is porky as fuck. Bitcoin was designed in such a way to enrich early adopters at the expense of late adopters due to its deflationary nature and the "halving" process. In 2009 something like 50 bitcoins were mined every 10 minutes. Now only 12.5 bitcoins are mined every 10 minutes. Eventually bitcoin will be mined no more and the currency will be entirely deflationary.

That said, I see no reason why we couldn't create a labour voucher type cryptocurrency blockchain. Blockchain cryptocurrency could be used as vehicle for good I think. I forget what that type of anarchism is that calls for labour vouchers. The black and orange one. I don't see the flag here anymore.

Anarcho-Mutualism yeah that's it. You could totally put labour vouchers on the blockchain. I don't know how red and black anarchists feel about labour vouchers.

"Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires."

they're classcucks because they've so deeply internalized the whole "american dream" spiel. they think bourgs became bourgs because they worked hard (lol)

youtube.com/watch?v=IuWSUqhYdxo

The exact same argument could be made about workers in the early to mid 20th century in all imperialist nations, the majority could afford luxuries that their Victorian forebears either didn't have access to or simply weren't available yet. But despite being much better off then the average 19th century many of them went over to communism and other leftist ideologies. Most people who actually lived through the Great Depression took little solace in the fact that they had access to many trinkets that their parents didn't have growing up.

And believe it or not the same argument about the working class was around in Marx's time and he refuted it pretty soundly.

Many of the things you mentioned were already widely available to the middle class in the 20s-40s and by the 60s they were starting to become available to the average working person. Many of those things have been around so long and produced in such large numbers that many of the poorest people can buy them used second-hand.

I'm sorry but muh TVs and muh smartphone doesn't cut it as an argument. Not only is the trend not of upward wages like in the era when the boomers were coming of age but its actually a downward trend.

At best, wages are stagnant but when you look at the minimum wage accounting for inflation its actually lower then it was in the 60s in most states. Meanwhile, rents, insurance and the cost other essentials is actually going up in a very weak job market, I might add.

word, i used to trade bitcoin (avoided being a wage slave for a while) and i always had strong cognitive dissonance about what a piece of shit it was. at the same time though, it fascinated me because of what potential lies in the blockchain. never before has there really been a way to decentralize the concept of trust and authority in the way the blockchain does.

in the same way that people in the dawn of the internet had no way of imaging the ways it would be applied today (and in the future), i think we're going to see equally novel applications of blockchain technology to solve problems rooted in trust.

either that or silicon valley will use it enslave us all

One last thing, millennials are the most educated generation in history and on paper that seems like a recipe for living better. If you had a bachelor's degree during the 60s you could find a job that would pay you like a king, now you have a bachelor's degree and they pay you the kind of shit they'd pay a high school graduate prior to the 90s.

Bitcoin is porky as fuck, but it's not the only possible cryptocurrency. Poor fuckers in appalachia buy soda with foodstamps and use it as cryptocurrency.

Labor vouchers are fine as part of building the framework for revolution IMO, but I think actually getting to the point of smashing or abandoning capitalsim is more important than how we get there. I use this flag because I don't think any other way will give us lasting post-capitalist society. We're a long way from that, though, and even failed attempts at socialism will at least yield better short term results than late-stage capitalism by my reckoning.

Yeah there's definitely potential behind the blockchain but I do feel morally conflicted about trading bitcoin. I am currently trading bitcoin and I'm able to fund my NEET lifestyle with this hobby and save some money too. Like $600CAD/month. I sold off most of my bitcoins right before the price crashed two weeks ago. There are Canadian labourers out there somewhere who are holding my bag right now. Some Canadian labourers out there have funded my NEET lifestyle and added to my piggy bank. But at the same time, I don't want to be a wage slave. I do what I gotta do to make a buck in late-stage capitalism. I make more money than lots of people do in part-time McJobs. And I would rather be a trader than work a 9-5.

If I moved out of my dad's basement and started paying rent, I would be fucked though. lol. My goal is to try to make like $20,000CAD/year. A basic income. But my dad warns me that this is no way to make a living. Anything below $40k CAD a year is basically poverty he says. Yet there are many people every day who have to live on $11.40CAD/hr and society seems to be perfectly fine with that for whatever reason.

They call bitcoins and such cryptocurrency because it utilizes cryptographic technology. Foodstamps is like a cryptocurrency but it's not cryptographic currency.

Socdem might actually be onto something. Look at /r9k/ and Holla Forums There are lots of angry young dudes perfect for revolution wasting away blaming wimmenz and j00s for their situation. You can't call them prole but they are nevertheless victims of capitalism.

What can we lumpens do Mr. Wobbly poster? I remember the IWW used to admit the unemployed into their union back in the day but how do we organize the unemployed now?

yes and if we don't hurry and convert them they will turn to legitimate neo-fascism and be a huge road block for any feasible revolution

I consider myself a robot. I feel bitterness towards women and Chads. But at the same time, Donald Trump and the Republicans and Kevin O'Leary and the Conservatives here in Canada threaten my self-preservation. So I would rather vote for SJW feminazis if they'd give me a $20USD/hr, 20 hour/week job or a $20,000/year UBI. Than vote for a guy who is going to destroy what's left of my generation.

I mean, other than raiding their spaces, keep growing leftypol? Make OC? Often their only real contact with the outside world is the internet. Propaganda is a real part of the struggle.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that most alt-right types on /r9k/ and Holla Forums are not socialist because socialism isn't sexy anymore. Being a far-right reactionary is edgy.

Not sure if anyone knows this but being a NEET/freeter is extremely lonely. This is why they gravitate towards this edgy subculture. To fulfill their social needs. To gain a sense of belonging. We NEETs don't really fit into society. We are atomized. This is why, like I said, many of us turn to drugs. I don't turn to drugs because I'm afraid that they're going to really fuck up my life and I'm going to regret it. I have food, shelter, transportation, clothing, health care, internet access. I'm depressed but I feel like my life would be even worse if I started doing drugs. Weed might be alright. But opiates and MDMA are a serious problem.

You can't get addicted to MDMA.

>how come he's voting against his interests *op sucking dick*

the most spoiled and pampered generation are a bunch of dicks who knew

MDMA is in an abusive relationship with your serotonergic pathways.

It's awesome, only risk is overheating.

Stop being such a nerd and enjoy the possibilities of stretching the limits.

My in-laws say the same things to my husband, OP. He went to school and couldn't get work in what he majored in. Now he is back in for engineering. Hopefully that will work. If it doesn't I am afraid he will kill himself, and no, I'm not being hyperbolic.

I was a fucking idiot and got in debt in college and am unable to return, so I'm pretty much just a worthless NEET. No car, no phone, no money.

We hear the same "work hard!" lines though because my husband gets fed up with delivering pizzas and going back to school and living with his parents and has these anti-capitalist tirades at the dinner table.

The truth is though without his parents we'd be fucking homeless and that is a fact. He wouldn't be going back to school without them. I'd still be a prostitute. That's just the way it is.

They are more sympathetic to us than your dad sounds like, they can at least acknowledge things are fucked up, but they are still under the spell that capitalism "basically works".

Can relate to the lonely NEET thing. It's totally isolating and alienating, and yeah, you get sucked into boards like this and MMO games like WoW. I hate it. You start feeling stuck in place. I don't know about you, but I think I've actually gone a little insane due to it. Not kidding. Women are supposed to be hyper-social and shit, but here I am, shitposting on Holla Forums. I'll probably look like a fucking psychopathic Twiggy on trucker speed in a few years.

There is nothing you can say to your father on this issue. Spend tme with him as family and cease conversations on these issues because you are ruining what you do have and dreaming of something you will never have.

Engineering certainly should work out so long as it isn't a retarded field or a shitty school. One area where there are more jobs than people to employ usually. Still doesn't work for everyone, but for most people it's a good path for solid pay.

I know that feel. NEET looking for work right now. Been back and forth between Holla Forums and shitty MMOs. Past week it's taken all my willpower not to drink(alcoholic). Hope I can make it. Helps to program and work on certs, but when my anxiety peaks I can't focus on anything except this bullshit.

Is this an American thing? I can't imagine my family treating me like that.

Don't argue politics with your parents if you live with them. They have power over you and you don't want to ruin that balance.

He's doing mechanical engineering, and yes, the school he goes to is a good one. We're lucky in at least that department.

Yep. The anxiety, the depression, the tendency to drink or do drugs. Yep, yep, yep. It's tough. I'm trying to deprogram myself from this idea that nothing is worthwhile unless it makes money and learn herbalism, but when we're pretty much living on charity it's hard to not be the biggest cynical asshole in the world about pretty much everything.

Treating you how? His parents let us live with them and are helping him out tremendously after his first degree didn't work out at all. (He sustained a serious injury from a fucking surgeon that lasted an entire year as well. No settlement money. Yay.) I'd say we got pretty lucky even though they are baby boomer's with rose tinted glasses and our day to day life is pretty much garbage.
My family is too poor to help us at all, and I wouldn't even dream of asking. Classic working class family.
If anything I'd consider the whole "kicking your kid out when they are 18 and saying "Good luck" to be an American thing. Plays right into bootstraps and Ayn Rand occultism. The idea of an adult living with their parents is frowned upon here, but with the economy in the tank it seems like it is becoming somewhat more commonplace.

Sorry, I read your post as confirming OP's post. I'm tired.

Yeah it's becoming more commonplace for adult children to live at home. Because parents realize that if they kick their adult child out on the street, that adult child is not going to be there when they are sick. If my dad becomes sick (he's already a senior citizen), I will obviously take care of him. I just can't stand his reactionary views with regards to economics. And can't believe he thinks Donald Trump will be good for America (and subsequently Canada).

Keep in mind also that I have autism and having kids in old age (my parents were in their late 30s when they had me) is associated with having autistic boys. And there may be a genetic basis behind autism. It's a total copout when my dad denies that I have autism (even though I was diagnosed as such as a child). Because he's either embarrassed by it or doesn't want to feel responsible for it.

You wouldn't just kick a child with Down's Syndrome out onto the street would you? Autism is not as debilitating. But having autism in 2017 late-stage capitalism is pretty much the kiss of death in the workplace. No employers want to hire you. And when they do, you have to put up with a lot of bullying from bosses and co-workers in the work place.

I've come to realize that you have to be black or gay or a woman or whatever for society to have sympathy for you. No one cares about autistic men. And yet society wonders why we have Elliot Rodgers, George Sodinis, Adam Lanzas…

15+% of men 30-34 are not employed. And while a significant portion of them probably have autism, that portion is still only a minority for sure. If normies have trouble getting jobs, what chance do autistic adults stand? I read a report awhile back that 90% of autistic adults are not employed. lol.

We have like no political representation whatsoever. Where is #autistlivesmatter ? It's fucking ridiculous. We are like the one minority group that it's ok to shit on.

Nazis and Classcucks are not self aware enough to be considered with their own self-interest, they just live vicariously through others' power over them

I am about to shoot myself.

I take it your grandmother is living off your grandfather's money.

At least some liberal shared an autism awareness """"meme"""" :^)

The money they both saved, yeah.

baby boomers benefited from social democracy. Yet they have the audacity to say we are lazy, etc. after society tore up the social democratic contract (guaranteed stable employment, good wages, benefits, vacation, etc.). It's fucking ridiculous.

Just had this exchange with my dad (boomer, ex-cop)
This is the level of knowledge and discourse that the average boomer is capable of.

Baby boomers are fucking morons. If there is any sort of muh privilege that millennials have over their baby boomer parents, it's access to information.

Yeah, I'm not sure what this poster is getting at. The boomers are dying off, we don't need to convince them of shit.

I hope I am not so reactionary when I am older. I am hoping regular reading staves it off. I asked my FiL why he is voting for Hillary and he goes, "I just remember how good life was back then…"
Herp.

Whenever somebody gives you that shit, remind them that 90% of all startups fail and that only 6% of the population are self-employed (and falling).

Millennials are probably the most well-propagandized generation in history.

yeah COMMIE propaganda

Aye, we have access to oceans of info. The only way they would have had similar access is if they were an academic or a gigantic bookworm NEET and even then they can't crossreference information or check the validity of sources on the fly like we can. We can 100% verify the origin of news whereas they can only infer what likely source of their info was (should the source be worth doubting)
