Neither. If there is any true correlation to be actually be had, it's likely due to an underlying philosophical foundation. That philosophy acts as the sort of framework by which we build much of our actions and purpose around, while also informing our politics/ideology. At the same time, sexual desires embrace the rejection of those assertions as a means of internally creating a taboo. The taboo then becomes fetishized and often becomes erotic entirely independent from the actual act of sexual congress; the breaking of the taboo becomes an climax unto its own and acts as a release from an otherwise rigid adherence to the earlier mentioned personal philosophies.

Take me for example. I am an anarchist and, as you have quite disturbingly predicted, am into BDSM.
