Text-based games

I was recently replaying a certain porn text game and realized I was more interested in the gameplay and the world around it than the smut itself and started wondering if there were any text-based games around that were similar, but without the porn.
Something with a simple stylized UI that handles most gameplay elements, maybe a minimap for easier orientation, but the rest of it entirely text.

I'd imagine something like that would be fairly niche, but I'm sure there's got to be something like that around.
Let's discuss these kind of games.

There are and no, I'm not sharing. I don't like furshit or fagshit but I absolutely hate hypocrites.

Get fucked.

What?

Who pissed in your coffee this morning?

...

...

What game? It's not like there's anything to lose in this thread by people calling you a protofaggot, that shitpost has crippled it so far, speak up so that others can enjoy it too.

To answer your question, they exist yes. The one that comes immediately to mind is Hugo's House of Horrors and the rest in its series. It's difficult AS ALL FUCKIN HELL though, at least on the DOS version I had.

Dude fam, Hugo sucked dicks.

Had hoped it would recover over night.
That TiTs game by fenoxo. Was wondering if it turned out to be more than shit, but it's just the same old.
I'm basically looking for something that plays like that, but without all the damn furry dicks all over the place.

Looks like a neat little game, but not exactly what I meant.

Those two games are damn fun, honestly. A lot of horrible trash, especially with near constant futashit, but the story and gameplay for some strange reason lets me enjoy myself, without even fapping most the time. It's a bit stupid, but the worlds are interesting enough, and when given vague enough information you can create your own characters, stories, and environments. It's like reading a book, except you're able to interact with it.
Only complaint is that TiTS added those shitty little sprites. But I think you can turn them off, if you want. Still, messes up my headdesign for characters.

Exactly what I like about it as well. I'd like to play something like that with all the focus on the story and world building alongside the gameplay, without the porn distracting you from it.
I just haven't heard of anything like that.

Look up Sierra games.

I recommend the Larry series, the Police Quest series, and specially the space quest series

The first on each series are text based

Larry 1 (non VGA) and Larry 2 are great.
Police Quest 1 is great. 2 is good.
Space Quest 1 and 2 are good. 3 is FANTASTIC

Also, Quest for Glory 1 and 2 are beyond great.

Kings Quest was always a bit stupid to me, but people seem to like it.

Also, not sierra but running on AGI too, try out the Tex Mc Phillip games

They're fan made but by the third game they reached the quality of a sierra game. 1 and 2 are quite random, but still good.

Also, if you like text only try Infocom stuff. Zork, and Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy.

Some real classics in there, but they're not really what I'm looking for.
Something like Zork comes close, but lacks the gameplay element I'm talking about.

Who assblasted you?

Please just ignore him. I just wanted to talk about text-based RPG games.

One last bump before give up.

Ow the edge. Here is your (you), looks like you need it

Wait a second.
Are you talking "Text based adventure" games?
Like brother.
You need to do some research as that is an over-saturated market.
Here niggity nog.

you even play it from your browser. Have fun.

Are you OK?

how about multi player text based games?
aka, MUDS ( mutli user domains)
welcome to 1995

Some muds still must be around.

Some anons played one not to long ago and I'm pretty sure there area few doing alright.

I suppose? This seems pretty close, yeah. Ideally I'm looking for something that plays just like Corruption of Champions or TiTs with turn-based combat and whatnot.
I'll play this for a bit and look further with that term. Thanks.

Not exactly, but I might give them a serious go some time regardless. I did find something called Avalon. Apparently it's been online since the bloody late eighties. Sounds interesting at least.
Anyone have experience with that game?
