People literally do not understand how "the spectrum" works. EVERYONE is somewhere on the spectrum. It's not a "black, you're a normalfag, white you're autistic" it's a SPECTRUM. Normal people appear on "the spectrum" because otherwise it wouldn't be a spectrum.
Normal people are a control group, and autistic low functioning children are also a control group. They show you where the spectrum begins in each corner. Diametrically opposed.
If you're a high functioning person with autism, you will appear closer to asperger than you will to autism. But you'll also be closer to normal than you will to autism. There's RNG with the loadouts and that guy that allows you to reroll the abilities of equipment. Apparently 2 will have a dude that can solve this and make it less horrible at least.
Items were also locked by loadout from what I tried and was told, you equip a loadout with a weapon, a grenade and an ultimate ability. That's pretty much a class.
And maybe I just played with bad players who were still getting used to the stick controls, but it did not seemed to be a twitch shooter either with quite a large TTK compared with other games. Except for the obvious instakill weapons, of course.
While I certainly apreciated the Ink mechanics of swimming around and I've seen Webms of people doing some neat stuff, it really doesn't seem as fast as regular arena shooters that are often hailed as the absolute fastest of all fast.
Honestly, even the Scout from TF2 or Tracer seemed faster than the Squids, they only move fast when not shooting anyway and you can be forced out of Ink too.
It still seemed like a very fun game but it really doesn't seem to fix any of the "flaws" that are thrown to Overwatch however those aren't pointed and laughed at all.
I mean, we had Bastion, Hanzo and other characters that kept being spammed about "broken hitboxes" and "my insta kill!" and that last for months. Meanwhile, you seemed to have solved your "rollers are OP!" problem quite fast since those were clearly bad players.

Damaging shields doesn't charge your bombs either and if you're thinking about chipping your way to victory, prepare to lose every single match until you're playing against Hanjo.
Squids also can't fire while submersed, you only move fast when outside of combat or to retreat. This is from my limited experience but going under when in full view just lets your oponent take a few potshots at you and force you out into their ink.
Besides, there are several characters in Overwatch that can go over walls as well and after every chokepoint there's a fairly large open area as well.

Just feel like mentioning that the current "meta" is a dive comp, mainly revolving around Winston and Genji jumping (literally, they can do that) in past the choke and the shields and killing a key target before anybody has a chance to react. Then they move on and with the help of their team focus down enemies one at a time so that they all die in a ludicrously short time frame. It's a playstyle where speed and coordination are absolutely paramount. Getting everybody to the same place at the same time attacking the same thing as fast as possible.

I wasn't making a point that Overwatch and Splatoon are very similar or play exactly the same, I'm making a point that, for an uninformed viewer, they do seem to share a lot of similarities and could easily be mistaken for games in the same genre that play alike.
It's not true, they have fundamental differences in a lot of things but at the same time lots of the critics levered to Overwatch stem from hasty conclusions or bad observations on how the game plays.
I'd expect the same crowd that sees Hanzo's Ulti and thinks that actually kills an entire team to also jump into Splatoon and complain about the super abilities, claiming they alone decide the whole game.
But I'll atribute it to "Overwatch is more popular than Splatoon and Blizzard burned more players than Nintendo" as the likely explanation for the difference in critics.

It's not really indicative of a high-speed game that it requires a lot of team co-ordination to get a pick (Winston or Genji going in alone struggle without help).
If you enjoy that style of play then TF2 6s have been about diving in and killing medics for years and there's really no chance of the meta changing. If the next Overwatch meta is particularly cancerous and you'd rather be diving on people, try that.

By healing teammates, he creates stagnating moments where no team is moving forward at all, and the only way to break it is with an Uber.
The competitive meta has already aknowledged that while Medic is not fun at all to play as, with or against, not bringing him is still sure defeat so they play a class nobody likes for the sake of winning.
He also invalidates sentry nests that can be broken by making someone invulnerable instead of requiring actual skill and how they fuck the balance of the game further, with funny shit like Vaccinators on Snipers vs Snipers or the CritUbers and encourages Medics to stay in safe positions instead of joining in the meat of battle and actually help, risking their current charge.

None of those problems can be atributed to Overwatch Ultimate Abilities that can be dealth with without requiring another Ulti (Hanzo's Ulti counter play is just side stepping) and they do not invalidate positioning or team composition the same way that an Ubered Soldier\Heavy does nor do they give you an automatic "Win the next engagement" card like Medic Ubers do, neither are they the boring "sit behind this wall healing a self damaging soldier to break their defense easily".
I can't count how many times I completely cockblocked Roadhog, Soldier, Reaper, McRee or Bastion by shoving my DM in their face when they're ulting.

Besides, it makes for really neat comebacks despite not being as usefull as literally every other Support ability when it comes to attacking. Lucio's sound barrier help more to defend or attack a point then Mercy's ulti, for instance.

The thing is, eventually you start having a feel when the ults are coming. When you know that the enemy Mercy got a rez coming - concentrate all the efforts on killing her before she can revive her teammates. She has a 10 second window to do so. That's the time you have to counter it. She has a tiny healthpool, it's not really that hard to do.

There's more counters possible. You can line shots and set things like Junkrat's trap and mine on resurrecting heroes and even just killing Mercy afterwards means a 6v5 afterwards without their healer.
You can also avoid killing large groups of people all together, break their formation so they are too far to be rezzed together (with the side effect that Mercy won't use her Ulti, waiting for the right time instead)
And if a lot of people died together and are being rezzed, you can drop any sort of AoE to fuck with them, like many Ults in the game or just rush them with Reinhart.
That's just a change in perspective and HUD, it does not change how the game fundamentally play. You could switch to third person as well in Unreal Tournament and that didn't changed the game one bit, for instance. You'd only have a point if they had tank controls or something similar.
Well now you're getting into the mindset of the game. You need tank busters that can counter their tanks but you can also use flankers to break their formation and pick their Supports, it really depends on what you want to do, what the other team has, etc.
For instance, if they have a Mei, it might not be a good idea to dive or flank them if Mei's covering them, instead being preferable to spam grenades from away and making sure Reinhart can never move forward. But if there's a Zarya or Orissa, don't be dumb and think you can whittle them down. Dva's played around by letting her advance and then melt her together, but she's far less dangerous for a Tracer going to around to take their Mercy.

Most of the criticism you will find from the resident shitposter(s) relies too much on lore-based stuff that is not even relevant to the gameplay, like Sym's autism (which I think it's more like an OCD) or Tracer being gay, which is (only mentioned in the comic; the game itself doesn't even acknowledge it in any way, and some people even started to debate about how much should the comic's events should be considered canon, because of perceived bias on the writers/artists this is mostlly fueled by shipperfags being butthurt though.

As for actual game talk I'm happy I got the Mercy skin for this event. I was starting to get mad about not getting any of her skins in previous events.
it comes down to a check of how attentive your team is and how capable they are of taking opportunities. as someone who hates mercys ult the answer is usually "not very". its more common for me to see people staring at the main path and shooting reinhardts shield than it is for me to see them checking the flanks.
in these situations it just ends up being another thing that "i" specifically have to take care of. if i dont kill the healer nobody will. and if i kill her too fast, shes going to get back in time for that victory rez.
