Xbox "scorpio"

Is Microsoft already retiring the xbox one?

Another question: what's up with all these re-iterations of existing consoles? Is this an attempt to compensate for the shittiness of their games?

Gotta tap on that smartphone market

...

Jesus, but it makes sense
I think I'm going to sell this piece of shit I never play and build my own computer.

btw, i wanted a serious answer to the one/scorpio question, I'm not memeing on here.

Nope, the Scorpio is basically a better version of the PS4 pro.

Jesus Christ

They want to compete with PC and kike more money out of their fans in the process.

Consoles are now IBMs with gamepads, we've finally gone full circle

...

Funnily enough all of them are eating this shit up and I've seen people here shilling for it.
Enjoy a new standart thats jusst as bad if not worse than DLC, paid online and Microtransactions.

Trips

I'm gonna post all the xbox one exclusives.

I think I'm just going to go back to PS3

Just build a mid range and play everything you could ever want with few exceptions nigger.

They didn't learn from letting a console generation drag on too long with the PS3/360/Wii era. PS4 and Xbone have very little in the way of games still because those two consoles were something of their surrender-flag, and when both exploded because it was finally something new coming out they didn't and still don't know what the hell to do.

Going forward consoles are just going to be the same system with more powerful hardware, AMD x86-64 APU, Offering a hardware refresh every 4 years isn't that stupid an idea since consoles will now be forwards and backwards compatible, and console lifecycles can be extended to 8 years in a more natural fashion. Users who want a better gaming experience in terms of stability, framerate, visual fidelity or resolution can now opt in instead of having to deal with a single aging device for the current extended generations, on top of that if you buy a Scorpio there's a high probability it will be forwards compatible with the next refresh's games, so you could technically upgrade every 5 years, be able to play games releasing for the newer system and be able to snag the newer system for a reduced price.

Now this guy gets it, if you are buying a PS4 or Xbox One you fucked up somewhere down the line.

what's up with all these re-iterations of existing consoles? Is this an attempt to compensate for the shittiness of their games?
I don't care what's up with it because it makes all the other consoles before it cheaper for me

Anyone notice the Os in Project Scorpio looks like a loading circle in varying stages of motion? Is this a sign of unresponsive hardware to come?

Why can't microsoft just put all their resources into optimizing their OS? Console gaming is getting stale and has been since the 2600 went obsolete.

Heres the shill

I didn't say go out and buy it but do you have a counter argument?

$500 fucking dollars. What goes away in one new console buy and two new games, without even considering the paying for online. There you go. Dish out a little bit more and you can put a motherfucking GTX1060 on it. A whole new fucking computer that you can use to to do anything a computer can do and anything a console can do.

Fuck!

this too

stupid

difference is the quality of ports requires a much better PC than this shit to even hit console parity, and even then, it's not like there's been any new good PC releases. Spending $500 on a PC now is having to spend $500 in two years or to be stuck with a 720p youtube machine in two years.

What a fucking kike.

...

Good goyim.

No user it does not make sense. There are a lot of reasons why this is the most wishful most ignorant thinking you'll ever hear. Now you'd probably assume they did some market research and found that people would be willing to upgrade their console periodically. The truth of the matter is Spencer just thinks it'll work because it works for phones. Here is why it will not.

You see when Sony did this it was a decent upgrade that isn't too hard to program for. Microsoft plans on doing it nearly yearly. MS is absolutely out of touch with their market.

it's not a phone strategy and you're looking at what they're doing (and why it's working) completely the wrong way. Reframe it as something entirely new and you'll be on the way to getting it. The next generation won't start until Ryzen matures and a practical APU solution becomes available.

Tell me user, would a higher number model mean more performance?

New doesn't sell for the sake of new. Consoles are also an entirely different market from cell phones. New Cellphones work because their is a demand for them, there is not a demand for new consoles that frequently.

What you're entirely missing is why consoles are popular in the first place. normalfags like to purchase one and not have to worry about it for another half a decade to decade. A new unit every year destroys that appeal, if you're going to drop $1000 over 2 years you might as well just save and buy a gaming PC and upgrade the power as you need it. It's a more sensible investment after all, since you won't have to run out every year to need a new one.

Microsoft thinks they can emulate the phone market for no other reason than the phone market exist, because the tablet market exists. They think console gaming can become like those two, but it won't.

This is the kind of out of touch decision making that pervades Microsoft lately. Windows 10 and 8 being another good example. Windows Store able to take on Steam, GoG, and even Origin. Their obsession with could based computing which I've talked to a person in tech. One good outage and a lot of companies are going to go bankrupt really quick.

New Xboxs every other year is not going to work and will be met with the same reception as always online. Another reason to stick with PC, Sony, or Nintendo. When your competition offers stability, you are doomed to failure.

Is that why I can play Dark Souls 3 at 1920x1200 Ultra with an RX480 and a i5 3570K, a CPU from 2012 with barely any framedrops on 60FPS?
-Steel Division
-Total Warhammer 2
-Endless Space 2
-Routine
-A Hat in Time
-Frozen Synapse 2
-Spellforce 3
-Ultimate General Civil War
-Bonerlord
-Xenonauts 2
-Pathologic Remake
That enough for you? I got plenty more.

And thats besides:
-Multiplats
-Console ports with better performance
-VNs
-Porn games
-TC mods
-Backwards compatibility
-Emulation

All of this for 600 dollars, the fucking PS3 at launch without taking inflation into account.

Keep trying though Sonygger

Feels good lad
Going to upgrade my CPU this year for 200 dollars and I'm set for another 4 years

I always wondered why you really only need a good GPU and an okay CPU.

The Pro sold more than the Slim, its a new standart in the making, just like them DLCs, Microtransactions and paid online you goys guys love so much.

Depends on the model, but yeah, never got the bigger staying power of CPUs as well.

Sony is rather clever, there were several rumors that they had the same always online intentions as MS. It is fairly likely they scrapped them at their conference after MS's reception. They'll likely wait and see if MS can get away with it before trying it themselves.

Normalfags don't buy MS anymore.

Xbox 360 did it first, and it didn't hurt much since it wasn't intended to be a replacement.

Pro sold more than Slim because the pro is priced at the same rate as the old console and has more memory and processing for just $50 more.

Microtransactions aren't working for the majority and even normalfags are refusing to buy games with them in it with the exception of where it does work: GTA online and Overwatch.

Stores are cutting back on how many units they purchase because normal fags are not coming in droves to purchase them after launch. Gamestop took a beating buying copies of Mafia 3, Watch Dogs 2, and other flops. I was talking with a store employee and now they only purchase what is preordered plus a couple extra depending on how popular it is. For instance if you didn't preorder Persona 5 you were going to wait a week to get a copy at my local store.

Sorry fam but it's not working, the goy silently just stop buying your garbage. Just like they stopped watching your garbage movies.

Consoles will die in a few years, casuals can just plug a chromescat to their tvs and watch pewdiepie play games for them

dubs

Are you saying that the Elite was a Pro tier improvement?
Do you have dementia?
Hollywood is still raping everything out there and so is AAA, Call of Duty and Battlefield/Battlefront have them and they don't care.
People still buy Ubisoft games
Are you delusional?

Uh no.

We only even heard those rumors AFTER Microsoft fucked up, to me that shit sounded like Microsoft shills doing damage control honestly.
Not to say Sony is above that but 'there were rumors that they planned to do the same and there's this rumor that they scrapped everything in the last second just to make MS look bad' sound all too convenient for Microsoft to make their competition look bad by shifting the blame around.

No, there were rumours that both would be Always Online before the reveal and Sony is a ardent supporter of DRM and that shit fits right in with their mondus operandi.

consoles get sold at a low profit margin and have to recoup money with "online service" fees and exclusive deals. only natural that they start tapping that yearly release market

except i swap out the odd part every couple years, i dont replace my whole fucking computer and have it immediately incompatible with everything before that iteration

Pretty sure Sony never had any plans for always online bullshit, but were probably looking into setting up something to compete with MS if it worked out for them. When it backfired, all Sony had to do was pass a game box between presenters and claim "this is how you share games on the PS4" - as if it were some kind of fucking cutting edge exclusive feature.

Sony's long game isn't about protecting games. They're going to try to move all hardware and software server-side, so all you have is a controller and a streaming client connection. They know whatever DRM they put into their systems is going to get cracked. So the obvious answer is, instead of spending multi-millions developing new security - to just remove the hardware and software from the user's home. You can't mod your console to play pirated games if you don't have a console to mod. PSNow is just the prototype of what will probably be the tail-end of the PS5 / PS6-gen gaming experience.

The only problem is, it doesn't fucking work.

Console babies are babies. Figures.

Guess it's time for me to be the most literal doubles advocate I've ever been:
It just got confirmed that Scorpio won't support double rate FP16. The so-called "most powerful console ever" is 2.4 Tflops slower than the machine it's supposed to beat. Granted, FP16 isn't enough precision for everything and in FP32 Scorpio is faster, but their marketing tagline just died. Oops.
Gotta admit copying Steams refund system is a clever marketing stunt to get people into their license "ownership" ecosystem. Keep the b8 out a few years and the caught goys will even defend it when they reintroduce the original always online DRM they patched out of the Xbone post launch.

IIRC didn't Sony buy out OnLive's technology pretty recently?

In any case, yah this is going to flop massively if it ever comes to this

...

Native PC video games relegate most of the work to the GPUs which is why if you don't do stuff like editing videos or emulating video games you won't find a need to upgrade your CPU.

This.

The PS4 has a reason to exist: a cheap and efficient way to play almost all weebshit. It's why I have one.

But what is the purpose of xbox?

Graphics whores ruining games. Same as it ever was.

You're part of the problem.

Enjoy your PC-style hardware upgrades minus usefulness, good price and 60FPS.
