Considering the fact that nostalgia for the 80's and 90's seems to be the big thing right now, it seems a bit strange that there are very few games which seem to embrace the 50's and 60's vision of the future. The only games that I know of are the Fallout series and The Deadly Tower of Monsters.
Besides those, what are some others games that feature this theme?
Stubbs the Zombie did it even though it was set in the 1950s. Team Fortress 2 has something like that as well.
Man, I'd totally be down for a Space Dandy/Cobra inspired RPG.
Ryder Sanders
Would some of the maps in Call of Dooty zombies mode count? especially Nuke Town in the later games.
Asher Sanchez
shamefully few, star control 2 had such vibes
Dylan Taylor
...
William Sullivan
First Mass Effect was actually closer to retro futurism than you think. Also every single Star Trek game is.
Isaiah Bell
this. They dropped it completely after the first one, and I found that jarring and disappointing.
Caleb Wood
Cyberpunk2077 is gonna rape.
Brandon Turner
My nigger. He also worked on Turn A Gundam, the main reason I'm going through the franchise in order.
Samuel Lee
The protagonists is a nigger?
Ayden Robinson
the protagonist is a trap
Dylan Bell
A NIGGER TRAP!?
Nolan Powell
That picture was made into a game, OP. It's called GTA V.
Juan Cox
A cucked nigger trap
Matthew Bell
they exist, also nice dubs
Luis Cruz
Don't worrry, his exhentai gay porn is really, really fucking good, like as good as the trap drawnby that guy mostly drawing straight porn with massive dicks, hard lip biting, and thrusting that looks like it'd bruise after one finished.
If I recall, the Trap was blond, called Ryou, and there was the memorable quote about him giving blowjobs to all his classmen before class started, and was in this pizza delievery service, and that's how I rank this particula gumdan trap for reasons.
Liam Anderson
You ever wish you could un-read something?
Jackson Adams
I actually really like 80s aesthetic, but too many companies today think that only means neon colors, synth and nerd culture references.
Jackson Carter
I really wanna see SS13 a game have the same aesthetic that Alien had, every sci-fi game is chrome and electric blue with a simple interface of holograms and cheap elegance, in Alien there was detailed work and a fleshed out spaceship.
Ryan Powell
Also this genre is called Atompunk.
Robert Jones
...
David Jackson
Yeah, nah, only after bethesda retcons.
Michael Clark
I can recognize a trinitron anywhere
James Long
Are you actually fucking retarded OP? Retrofuturism is the perhaps one of the most overused genres thanks to Fallout and Bioshock
Andrew Torres
I think a lot of point and click adventure games from the 80-90s did that shit.
James Ross
I came here to shitpost but goddamn you are so fucking stupid I have to take a moment to beat the bitch out of you.
Fallout and Bioshock are both FAILED retrofuturistic settings. They don't embrace it at all.
Hunter Williams
Have you seen Routine? It looked fantastic and then just died because Isolation came out.
Shame this guy’s a kike; his art is decent (the world being built is psychotic, though, but that’s to be expected of him).
Ryder Nelson
I miss seeing PETs in scifi movies and tv.
Ayden Perry
If is is then he must be a bit of a red pilled one.
Alexander Young
Of course jews are redpilled you cunt. It's like someone who works in area 51 not knowing ayylmaos exist.
Mason Jackson
Can you explain how? Is it all the 50s aliums?
Nathaniel Hall
Is there a way I can blame the Jews for this?
Ayden Garcia
There is Event[0] a story focused puzzle game set on a retrofuturistic ship stuck out orbiting jupiter. The game looks gorgeous and revolves around the slightly complex ingame AI called Kaizen which you have to interact with to solve most of the puzzles. The game suffers from being an incredibly short indie title for 20$ though. So I'd only recommend it on sale or pirate it. The story also doesn't have much choice in it besides some questions at the start that do nothing. I've heard messing with Kaizen can change the story and possible endings but I didn't experience that on my playthrough. It ran like trash on my gtx 720 so I might pirate it again when I upgrade my comp.
It was these pussies that over-reacted to Three-Mile Island and essentially killed America's chance to have some of the most advanced Nuclear Power technology by now.
Luke Jackson
For fuck’s sake, you blithering idiot. Do you really think that Holla Forums is /x/ or /fringe/?
Blake Wood
Pizzagate says yes.
I just wish current year hippies made good music. But all we get out of modern hippies is a burden to society and nothing to listen to on the radio.
Jaxon Baker
Is it a horror walking simulator or is it just a walking simulator?
Samuel Perez
glad you can't see past race when looking at good art user. not all jews are out to fucking rip your wallet out of your pockets with the force and drain your bank account of money with a magic kike straw
Henry Ross
how
Daniel Miller
...
Brandon Young
Kill yourself, you fucking traitor. No one believes you. No one ever has.
Justin Jones
Oh, hooray. Saving files as their actual filename is broken again. Fucking incompetent faggot site owner.
Angel Edwards
there is one part that is legitimately surprising but all the spook comes from the decrepit and abandoned parts of the ship. and the haunting fact that you are all alone on a ship millions of miles away from any other humans in empty space.
I didn't say you had to stop being racist user, just stating you clearly can't.
Ethan Scott
Yes, we covered that in mocking greentext; restating it doesn’t do you any good.
Easton Reed
user I'm not one of those faggots who think having games make them buy a new gpu every 2 years is acceptable, but we're talking about a gpu that would be midrange in 2005.
Lucas Nelson
All I want is a Wolfenstein-esque fps with nuke-crazed, American antogonists.
Brody Adams
The thing can get 10-20 fps in star citizen, don't underestimate it.
