Guys, has anyone considered that maybe this ban was simply intended to purge an artist who happens to be associated with Holla Forums?

Maybe the mod didn't actually think the drawfriend was objectifying women. He just recognized it as a Holla Forums meme, and then came up with some bullshit about how drawing people with animal features is monstrous hatred of women.

Am I wrong to assume this motive? Sorry if I'm out of the loop here but this ban reason sounds fucking ludicrous even for leddit mods.

Then again, the artist got lucky. Sony and MS have online services that people are actually willing to pay for. Nintendo's online service has been pretty much useless, it's like a social media site with training wheels to guard kids from predators. They did at least describe the service a bit and it sounds like they bothered to build something in the same vein and what Sony and MS have. Their real problem is NO GAMES. The key to selling hardware has always been GAMES. They put everything including the kitchen sink into the controller, but they only had a handful of games that anyone cares about, and even those only really appeal to Nintendo players.

I think the web as a whole has a moderation problem; it's necessary to have a way to deal with spam, people other than us have an understandable desire for civility, but there doesn't seem any systemic way for it not to end in powertrips and purges. But even Holla Forums and other imageboards have moderators, although I guess anonymity reduces, if not eliminates, the problem regarding egos. (With regard to reddit in particular, I get the sense it's easier to list the large subs *not* run by an asshole who let power get to their head.)
