How do we bring back the Arcade and the LAN party?

I'm aware this is probably the stupidest place to ask since probably 90 percent of you are a rock and an island social drop outs. But damn it, I fucking miss those days. I miss the days of showing off your skills and building a small gathering watching your 1cc attempt over your shoulder, learning something new from defeat, and humbling a nigga or two that feels the need to pop off by putting him to the test.

How do we bring that back? Online play is bullshit. Random disconnects and lag is bullshit. Ragequits aren't satisfying anymore. How do we bring back the arcade player ethic?

Plenty of LAN parties where I live. Problem is is that they play shit tier games.

LAN party is easy. Get friends. Get friends with the pretext of drinking and play Quake if you must.

The Arcade can come backā€¦kinda. Expensive VR setups are a ripe market for VRcades, where you can pay by the hour to enjoy immersive 3D without the huge upfront cost of a rig that can run it, headset, etc. But the problems would be the same problems classic arcades had: low population density in the US, plus a very competitive home console/portable/phone market.

How about you fucking kill yourself OP.

fuck off normalfag, socialtards are the cancer that ruined videogames. videogames were meant to be played alone, to escape socialization, not to practice it.

OP's pic is kinda hot to be honest

...

citation needed.

Go be a social reject somewhere else

Yeah I don't give a shit about your thread to be honest OP where's the source on the picture?

Unless it's just some instagram whore putting a filter on it, I'm sure it's just a photograph from the early 1980's

Arcades aren't coming back, there is absolutely no demand from 99% of people because they either A) Don't remember Arcades, B) Weren't alive when they were a thing, or C) Don't care about arcades because they've moved on to home gaming. The few left are the people who really loved arcades but those few people aren't enough to keep a whole business running (unless all the people who love arcades all decide to move to the same area or something). But you could always build/buy your own Arcade cabinet and invite friends over to play like the old days.

Or you could also go to Japan, but it won't be how you remember it for sure.

...

Bring arcade machines from Japan to the west

Yeah I just reversed image searched it San Juniper Black Mirror or some shit about a white chick and a black chick who are lesbians but they're both dying (?) and are living in a virtual reality where they meet. Oh well not interested.

You sure about that?

dat ass

you don't want to see the set. It's hideous.

-Up to date machines
-Subsidize game costs with weekly tournaments
-Serve alcohol because old hipsters are more likely to be your audience than kiddos
-possibly share storespace with a /tg/ themed shop
-Kill Steam
-Kill individual game licenses and always online shit
-Kill digital distribution.
-Just play old games because none of these things will ever happen.

We don't. Arcades killed themselves in the west, and western gaming audiences are too fucking retarded to ever go near one in the first place.

By eliminating sales on platforms like Steam, Origin, UPlay, etc. and denying money to any publisher who refuses to include multi-install and local-only game modes.
In other words, another impossibility due to the utter retardation of western gaming audiences.

i don't know the legality of doing this, but it could be comfy and relatively cheap

Yeah, it's basically illegal on every level, good luck with that.

...

okay, then can you explain the legality of using officially licensed arcade cabinets? do you have to pay a fee to become an official arcade for a publisher or something?

Have you ever thought that maybe these things died for a good reason? That with the availability of home consoles no one feels the need to leave their house to go to some shit smelling arcade where they are literally nickle and dimed for their gameplay? Or that the advancements in online gameplay have made the idea of packing up your hardware to play at someone elses house for a number of hours obsolete when you can get a similar experience from the comfort of your own home?

To bring back arcades all you have to do is open an arcade with a liquor license. Bam.

LAN parties can be done in gaming cafes but barcades also have multiple screens for people to bring consoles to.

You're an idiot.

destroy the internet

Honestly legality won't even be your biggest problem, there is simply no demand for arcades. You secure the rights to official arcade machines by owning one as far as I'm aware, so basically you'll end up hunting down good arcade machines only to find the prices through the roof, and even if you do proceed and build your own basement arcade: No one will pay to use it. Even if you drop millions and get the best selection ever you'll be a curiosity at best that will get mild business and you'll probably never make back your money. People don't want to pump quarters in to games anymore when they can get hand-holding experiences at home that make them feel both skilled and cool (mind you it's a false sense of both these things, but people eat that shit up).

I can't, but there are certainly legal limitations on running a business out of your house. You can't just do that. Not only that, but arcades being an entertainment venue that customers would be visiting would almost certainly mean that it would never be permitted.

Not to mention in most places, due to "muh drugs, muh childrens" legislation, arcades are lumped in incredibly strictly and require the same kind of permits as things like strip clubs and other adult entertainment.
tl;dr no, it's not going to fucking happen.

Also anyone saying "just make a barcade!" needs to fucking kill themselves. Just end your own lives, you pieces of shit. Booze and arcade games are a terrible mix, and the whole "barcade" fad is nothing more than an arcade-themed bar for hipsters who want to pretend that they grew up caring about video games. Oh boy, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man!

Barcades are already a thing and they fucking suck because you just get a bunch of drunken niggers beating on the machines until they no longer work. Enjoy all those legacy machines getting ruined by drunken assholes it's already happening, there are 3 near where I live. It sounds like a good idea but it's really shit.

The reason they wont come back is due to the maintenance costs. There's no one around to fix them as they break down. No one making the parts for cheap enough to clear the overhead. Not to mention assholes and niggers who wreck the machines because they dont give a fuck about them and the store owners can't whoop their asses because they are 'youths'. Go to Japan and you will find arcades fucking everywhere and they seem to do just fine.

I had a fairly good and popular Arcade around the area i lived in a decade ago, but because of shitskins and arabs who moved to the area, less and less gamers went to it because they felt threatened and crimerate went up around there too. Also, said shitskins and arabs fucking battered the machines to no end. Later on the owner of the Arcade had to get and pay for security and repairs, but still less nerds came and shitskins and arabs were thrown out all the time, which means almost no one went there to play, which means barely any income. In order not to get bankrupt, the owner then slowly started exchanging arcade machines with gambling machines, turning it into a pseudo casino.

I am still mad.

Actually, major arcades aren't doing as well as they once were, and the cancer has really spread there with microtransactions, collectibles, and always-online DRM locking machines down forever.
Still far better in terms of games, and still alive and kicking at least.
Also it's not so much maintenance costs that are the killer. It's hard to get good locations here in the states due to cost and regulations, and the profit margin is usually so low that once they've been there a year or two, leasing cost hikes will force them out.

Can't it be all of the above? There are numerous reasons arcades are no longer a thing and, yes, declining interest from the western audience is part of that. I mean I could counter your argument by saying there would surely be people around to fix the machines as well as parts if there was the demand.

Why would you want to bring back the thing that birthed microtransactions?

Why does nobody have this with sound in an mp4/webm? The sound makes it better.

What are the Logistics of getting a normal Computer, slapping in a whole bunch of arcade games on it, making the arcade cabinet setup around it, and having it in the store so that people can play it. They can play as many games to their hearts content if they're curious about playing and hardcore players can spend time there and build a scene.

True used to be just us basement dwellers escaping from reality.

Then normalfags happened.

Reduce the price of all games in arcades to the prices they charged in the 80s.

As for LAN parties there kind of needs to be a reason you're all stuck in one place doing this other than the party it's self past about the age of 14, it sounds like some shit kids do for a reason.

Unless you have a bank of PCs set up in a given venue to play beforehand (hope you have good security) then you're asking people to bring their own computers to god-knows where to meet a load of (given how social people are) stinky/no-life/uggo/clingy/thief/strangers to play shitty games for no reason then hump their shit home. I'd never do such a thing and I'd wager 95% of people who've played on-line never would either.

Marvellous.

Pretty sure it's legal so long as you don't charge entry or charge to play, even if it's not I've seen a store near me doing it for a couple of years now, might be in that grey area. The logistics of it are pretty simple, you wouldn't even need a strong computer and if you suck at building there are even companies that build full cabinets for you, though a lot of people build their own to great success.

Sauce for gif?

No wonder they didn't use their faces on the cover.

I think it's Akiba's Trips.

Did they turn this photo into an episode of black mirror?

That's actually not a bad idea. Get a used 200$ midware pc on ebay, a used 100$ screen or tv, new controllers for like 30-50$, and a plywood cabinet that you make yourself, which you paint over for cheap. That's 1/10 the price of a real arcade and can store a shitload of games.

I think that depends on what you pay for. There are internet/pc cafees that have games installed on them, and it works legaly because you pay for the use of the pc at an hour basis, not entry or play charge.
If you make it so that you "pay 5$ to use a pc for 30 minutes", it should be legal. Though you better should talk with a lawyer and have him check what the laws are in your area/county/country.

I've figured out over time that the real way for people to come to an event is one of two methods -

First method
The user base or the fanbase is a dedicated bunch, such as (this will be a horrible comparison, bear with me) preteens and the band One Direction

Method 2 will draw more attention, but if not executed right, expect it to crumble in a matter of minutes.

Method 2 is to have a LAN party that offers a challenge with a cash prize. For example, if you were to play that has LAN capabilities, and offer a cash prize for a challenge, such as a tournament to see "WHO IS THE TOP PLAYER", you will probably have an easier time finding people to play with.

This is simply an observation, take this and modify it as you see necessary.

MAME cabinets have been around for a long time, there's probably a decent guide somewhere you can find that'll walk you through it start to finish

...

If I can't fuck it I'm not interested.

My plan was to put together some small wall hanging or table top games and collect a fee for entry. Games are free play. Now i think the original coin op setup would be better still with small cabinets. Rather than the huge tmnt 4 player cab i could wire together 4 small cabinets either with their own screens or with one large screen. I now have a large warehouse where i have been working on some designs. I live in a smaller town now but there is a christian college so i think if i were to open an arcade i would have some interest. It would be something i can enjoy while possibly making some cash renting out three of four spots in my arcade for a store or two and a small automat with food and other vending shit or pizza place. I have a pretty good variety of arcade boards i bought for cheap before many of them became "collectors items".

You can fuck ANYTHING.

Your pic is more interesting than your post OP.

Big mistake.

I don`t care if a sheboon is grasping it i want to stare at it. please post the whole set user.

The hell is up with arcades always attracting drug dealers and ooga booga niggers ready to chimp out at a moments notice. The only thing close to an arcade where I live is a Chuck E Cheese in a shopping center where 80% of the businesses have left.

It was micro-transactions before micro-transactions were a thing, but at least they had great content to go with them and one-coin-finishes were viable on virtually most of the machines. I believe the only way to keep Arcades alive is to make great multiplayer games. Sportsballs, Metal Slug and Puzzle Bobble are immensely popular around these parts, cabinets still run them but I fear their time is almost up.
They still exist, the problem is that couch multiplayer itself is dying because of kike publishers wanting their always online shit and incompetent mangina devs being unable to program anything efficiently and are basically an even worse version of those Comp Science grad parodies.

I don't think we can do anything in this industry if we don't first and foremost get rid of incompetent developers and then get some good-tier companies to drop bullshit business practices. Thankfully the fact that the kikes behind modern gaming are making them either super exclusive thanks to hefty prices on consoles and subscriptions or cancerous by creating "experiences" is making actual gaming as a hobby almost a reality once again, while the rest of the trash that just watches online walkthroughs is sitting there not really modifying the industry that much.

Absolutely, you just have to be brave enough to try. Are you a bad enough dude user?

Don't you get it? The close friends are what started it all. Play video games alone, or don't play them at all. Kill normalfags.

Mayo is 2cute for this.

You're on a board with other people user. I feel you though my man, I want to surround myself with robots, artificial personalities that aren't irrational, illogical, and above all else, raging faggots. I want to live under Skynet.

lel, does that sound effect really play when they pull her pants down?

the set is right here user

I hope you enjoy your terrible fap.

Normalfags made your video games, you supreme cuckold.

Kill the internet.

I really don't care if arcades come back, but I want to see more games with arcade design being developed. Something you can just jump into and be having fun with the majority of a game's mechanics available to you within 10 seconds. Less cinematics, less filler, less fetch quests, less retarded drawn out tutorialsā€¦ just a fucking game. Something you can just jump into for a few minutes, have some fun, and then fuck off to take care of business. The game doesn't have be long, but should focus on replayability - and not artificial replayability via unlocks and shit - but by being a fun fucking game that you WANT to come back to. The over-the-top bright colors and bombastic presentation would be a welcome change to brown & bloom and girrty reelizm too.

Part of why I've been gravitating towards portable game consoles these last few years is because they are designed to be played in manageable chunks and tend to focus on getting the player into the game much more quickly. But even that shit is either dying or becoming infested with cinematic AAA garbage.

Maybe something of worth will eventually evolve out of mobile gaming - with games that are actually mechanically deep, yet simple to access. like hell, it'll just devolve further into microtransaction f2p bullshit - the worst and only aspect of arcades it did inherit, the quarter-munching coin-op model

That black girl's hair and ear rings reminded me of how much of a crush I used to have Lisa Turtle from Saved by the Bell. Goddamned she aged like milk that somebody pissed in though.

Arcades were great, I hate them turning into gambling games in disguise machines. No real way to bring them back outside fighter games, the cost of running them vs the traffic isn't enough. Besides that, there aren't any devs making good arcade games to begin with, just look at all that Aliens, Jurrasic Park and Fast2Furious shit that's out.

Get friends. Have a LAN party. I have them all the time.

Plenty of arcades exist where I live.

It's not my fault you live in a shitty place.

You are socializing right now by posting in the thread.

Her father?

Arcades are a thing now/still outside of America.
Especially in Asia. There is a lot of reasons for that but I think it centers on the the fact that Americans stay at home, prefer their own hardware and are too poor.

Degenerate, reeeeeeeeeeee.

I don' think lesbians, if they happened to be lesbians, could be accused of race-mixing.

You don't have to be a NEET loser to enjoy good games user

Good location, good games, good community.

Unfortunately the advent of always online arcade DRM has made it difficult or impossible to get the latest games overseas. Want to purchase a NesicaxLive cabinet? Sucks to be you.

I didnt know it was possible to change ethnicity as you grow older.

Price for playing the arcade is total jew-in-a-box.
It fadded when people have full set TV game consoles.

Black Mirror is pretty fucking good user.

What the fuck did pedowood do to her?

And yet gumball machines still exist and so do those capsule machines that let you buy 1cent toys for 25 to 50 cents.
AND THOSE FUCKING CLAW MACHINES!
I don't really care about Arcades in particular existing but what I would like to see is the return of arcade machines in the front or back or side room of every department store, convenience store, theater, skating rink, pool hall, etc., etc.

if pc/consoles killed arcades
then arcades need games most can't buy/acquire

virtual reality, augmented reality, scott pilgrim, etc
>>>/vir/

sheeeeeeit

Fuck, I'd be satisfied if there were more local 4 player or even 2 player splitscreen games. Most consoleshit these days is singleplayer+online multiplayer. Like nigga, what if I have friends over, we gonna take turns? fuck that.

Also I'm wondering who would be the kind of mother fucker to report this to whom to shut the whole arcade down and What would we do if a person tries to hog a cabinet?

what's the point

this is why you bring classic consoles to lan parties, not fucking computers. All you'll get if you have desktops and laptops set up is meth addicts getting their fix. bring a saturn and twinkle star sprites and you'll have a proper tournament going on

I just want to play some Kirby Air Ride god dammit

It'd be pretty great to trash some little kids. I never got my chance, I'm jealous of older dudes that didn't miss out.

How about a good game like Timesplitters instead?

It's alright.

Anything besides Melee would be more than welcome.
Are you saying AirRide isnt good?

...

We are the reset

you retards can't, creating dedicated gaymerstations is less cost-effective and damages profit margins in a run that lasts longer than 16 months

I'm ready for the reset, Bennu.

It's a public place to hang out. That always attracts niggers.

How hard would it be to make arcade machines + games like they did back in the 70s and 80s? Actually soldering chips to a board and discrete logic and all that jazz.

As do I.

I designed and prototyped a little JAMMA board. It was OK.

I'm going to try again, though, with some real video acceleration this time - instead of just software-rendering everything.

I might use all discrete logic (74LVC likely) just for the hell of it

Why did you post it user? Who told you to do this shit?

Yours is the darkest of skins

You could do thatā€¦ Or you could just get a raspberry pi and get better results for significantly less effort!

And you can stop shilling for them.

I don't know. You could go with some bullshit like the Raspberry Pi and cut a lot on hardware costs. Maintaining old cabinets would be a bitch for sure though.

Oh, I should read. Well, there are alternatives.

The simplest arcade games were made by hammering transistors into a board. Actually pretty easy, but once you get to microscopic stuff like the one in your pic you'll need a fab and more than backyard knowledge.

Because arcades are expensive and shit.
There's no purpose to it in the modern day, take off the nostalgia goggles.

What's the most complex arcade game hardware that you could build from scratch in a home type environment? Assuming you had the skills and access to the materials?

This guy.

Except the conclusion is wrongā€¦

Is that what 3D women look like? Disgusting.

...

Come up with a way to make P2P multi-player bearable so we could stop depending on someone else buying/hosting a server.

you can bring arcades back by sucking them out of all the dicks you can find

I'll take "things that didn't happen and have no chance to in the future" for $500, Alex.

Probably because even a relatively small place needs to pull in around ten grand a month to even keep the doors open let alone be profitable. That's forty thousand quarters. And I mean an actual full size arcade. Not two or three machines in front of a dinner (which you'd be lucky to even 25 bucks a week out of by the way). I can put twenty bucks in the change machine, play for almost three hours and still have change in my pocket when I finally get board and leave. For an arcade to be profitable it literally has to be constantly crowded. Which they only ever were in the 80s. Once the 90s rolled around it was a slow slide until they finally collapsed completely in the early 2000s. Just go search all of the names of the old manufacturers you remember from that time; Williams, Midway, Atari, Data East. If they didn't already go under or merge with someone in the early 90s. They were certainly all gone by the early 2000s. Arcades are just not profitable anymore.

Well, the western arcade industry was pants on head retarded, so that certainly didn't help. Those games are what earned the arcade reputation of being "unfair" and "designed to eat quarters."
That combined with westerners awful tastes and arcade owners fucking with dip switches and falling for distributors tricking them into redemption shit meant that the whole thing was filmed

How do you sleep at night knowing some of the earliest games required a second player

Maybe you're right user

You don't go to LAN parties still?
Do you just like, not know people with the same games as you?

That took a dark turn..

You can't.

...

Dutch people are always fucking degenerates.

I'm not against succession, getting rid of negroids by establishing a white ethnostate would definitely give an opportunity for arcades to be revived.

It's even worse that way.

It's originally from Germany though.

Some guy in my town got a large collection of classic arcade machines and opened his own arcade. Instead of putting money in the machines you pay a fee to get in and then play the machines as much as you want. He also has an N64 and a VR headset set up. He sells alcohol and Friday and Saturday nights are adults only. Everytime I've been it has been packed and he has told me about how well the things going and how he might expand.

It's the all you can eat concept. That is a good way of setting up a Arcade nowadays, hope more people will do it.

They used to do this every month on Thursday night at my local arcade years ago. You'd pay 10 bucks and they'd put all the machines on free play.

I'm ready for the reset, Bennu.

If that was indeed the case then the sollution would have been far simpler than how things are now.Fact of the matter is the internet cafe phenomenon had more of an effect on arcades and with lowering of price of personal computers and the rise of broadband connections those lost their market value is an effect not too disimilar how in the porno industry the VCR took over movie theatre sales and how the advent internet took over the VCR ; why jerk off at the movie theater when you can rent a videotape and do it in the privacy of your own house? Why go out and get a videotape when all the porn in the world is just a few clicks away?
As for 'why japan tho' they've always been the oddball after WW2 ,shit that wouldn't work anywhere else in the world work just fine over there ; so it shouldn't be a surprise that arcades are still a thing over there though from what i read it's mostly pachinkos these days

Look pal, I'm an unlikable social fuck-up with no friends too, but being alone all the time and not having any form of normalcy is inherently bad.

New banner?

For some reason Holla Forums thinks air ride is the worst kirby game even though it has some the best multiplayer gameplay of any gamecube game.

youtube.com/watch?v=FKRAXZyn5Ds

...

I threw up in my mouth a little bit, but I knew what is was when I clicked it, so I don't really have anyone to blame but myself.

Kill all dykes.

Most modern arcade cabinets are PCs anyway.

Fuck I miss going to the arcade at the mall, playing Alien Vs Predator with my brother, walking to EB games to stare at 6th gen games and tie-in vinyl figures for StarCraft.

Also Bradley Video and Blockbuster were always lit on Fridays, fam.

...

are all millennials this retarded

As a millennial, I can confirm.

There are many problems. The biggest one for me is developers.

Where are the developers making anything for the lan scene and supporting the lan scene? They aren't there.

If you make a game, consider the following option. Its easy enough to do in this day and age. Free weekend passes for your game for lan parties. Any multiplayer game that can't proof itself to be worth money during a lan party is frankly not good enough. Its the time when people play with friends, while having fun. If they don't enjoy your game then, when will they ever (even for single player games, it kind of works if you are good enough).

Think about it, you are giving people the ability to play with their friends for 3 days. When will they ever play your game in a better setting and be more willing to buy it for continued play afterwards? Unless your game is shit of course.

And of course, people are faggots and mainly play the same old shit day in day out nowadays.

If you want to make a lan party awesome, find a small one, 100-200 players. Have a friend or 3 join you (ensure its the type of friend that will install any game you suggest no matter what). Find a lot of amazing fun games that can be shared easily.
Have at it, make enough noise. Others will be interested and start joining you in the game.
It needs some preparing, but its worth it. Half a lan playing shit like suicide survival is just a lot of fun.

Fuck off faggot, Doom had multiplayer and is older than half the people here.
Just because nobody likes you doesn't mean nicer people are ruining your hobby. There is a lot of shit wrong with gaming these days, but lan parties are not one of them.

You could, but why?
The soldering would be very easy. Its all through hole. Nothing hard about that. The bigger problem is the logic (and thats probably not all discrete logic, there likely are some programmable chips in there).

If you really want to make your game from discrete logic, you would be better off getting an FPGA or something like that. You should only make a board for nostalgia sake.

In the last years, my PC has always been set up for local multiplayer games. I bring 4 controllers, have my TV with me and a bunch of local multiplayer games. Its pretty damn, successful. Many people playing on my PC all of the time. There are some pretty good ones for PC, more than on consoles I would say. Consoles are no longer a social gaming experience, they suck.

You horrible failure, I was playing MUDs in the '80s probably before you were born.

Not to mention there is a very good chance the arcade board you get will have a suicide battery whose only purpose is to render the board inoperable when it runs out of juice. This battery powers a dedicated RAM holding validation keys that are needed to run the game. When it runs out of juice, this RAM powers down, is subsequently blanked, and the game doesn't run anymore. Not even joking.
>arcadecollecting.com/dead/
The only reason for their existence is to extort money from the machine owners by charging them money to have a tech replace the battery and supply new keys. Gee I wonder why arcades are dead.

...

I did this once with some friends a year or two ago. We played 2 races and one 5 minute round of the open world before we got bored. It didn't age well at all.

But talking with friends is good for your health user.

the kike can try if he wants but it ain't gonna end well for him

Mostly just out of the curiosity of "could it be done" and for the learning experience.

[HERESY] PURGE THE XENO

That nigger looks like my mom

...

I SAID LOOKS LIKE NOT IS A NIGGER YOU FUCKING APE

She's Puerto Rican and Indian (the dot type) and I have no idea how that combination happened. I'm imagining someone was rapped by a poo in loo.

Elliot! Long time no see!!

How are you? Still trying to find a gf?

The supreme gentleman?

Take it easy, Pedro Pierluisi. Don't share that shit out on the internet, you'll get bullied. Unless that's what you want, you sick fuck!

It's best not to know.

Fucking yuros.

White people have lost the public space. Look around you, once losing the public space and not being able to take it back because of diversity everything will attract the niggers.

Can't fap to this.

Despicable but sadly typical. The Jewish media at work.

And it's a kike.

Bringing back the arcades would save vidya.

Gaming used to be a collective effort, in noisy arcades alongside many. We weren't forced to sit alone, autistically in front of a screen.

And the more rowdy the crowd, the less women will want to stick around.

You were made like this by jews. There used to be a time where all boys in time were free to sit around vidya in bliss. Loneliness is a byproduct of home gaming.

that's not a hook nose, you retard
it's not even that big

Is there any other relevant Elliot?

All I did was glance at that fucking board and saw it.

I miss him

dick poopie man.. i remember him well..

Arcades still exist, I should know I work at one, but they are not what they used to be, there is little to no competitive scene at arcades at least not for anything other than DDR and even that is not what it used to be in terms of popularity, the majority of the customers we get are parents with young kids trying to kill time and old foggy retired cunts trying to find something to do all day, with the occasional millennial that is either a hardcore arcade fan that tracked you down online to play a specific machine or some chad douchebags there to cause trouble.
There is a reason the majority of arcades that exist in the west still pull double duty as some other kind of establishment like a bar or party location rather than just being a pure arcade.

This is completely incorrect, the biggest sources of revenue for modern arcades are small children and old folks.
If you open an arcade you WILL have redemption machines and a prize counter or you will make no money at all.
If you should choose to serve alcohol just realize this may affect the demographic you attract and it may hurt you in the long run unless you are making enough in drink sales to compensate what you lose from family demographics.

DIversity killed the idea of going outdoors to do things.

No sense in going to an arcade when you could be mugged at any second by a feral pack of hoodlums. Better to stay safe at home and connect online.

If you want to fix gaming you have to first fix society. A large task.

Also the OP image is Hillary Clinton.

Or so I thought.

...

That isn't just aging. She has some kind of illness/disease that makes her look like that.

Again, no dykes please.
