Many left wing identity groups do seem themselves as the oppressed vs the oppressor like black lives matter similar to the bourgeoisie and the proletariat.

No modern right winger who uses the term feels a need to discredit Marx. In their mind he has been discredited along with all other Marxist ideologies as being flawed economically, biologically and historically.
"Marxism" in Cultural Marxism stands for the ideals of economic equality they feel Marx stood for. When those ideals are divorced from economics and coupled with Freudian psychoanalysis and married to culture you have what they call Cultural Marxism.
When a wingnut uses the term Cultural Marxism he is saying: Enforced radical egalitarianism through psychoanalytic reasoning. But saying cultural marxism is a much better conversation stopper in the same sense you would call someone a neonazi or a stalinist. "Marxism" scares normies.
Calling it a conspiracy theory misses the point of the terms usage entirely. How are modern progressive equality and radical egalitarianism a conspiracy? Are the critiques from these groups on western society not just thinly veiled psychoanalytic attacks on a perceived power structure that is based on a poor understanding of Marxist theory?

Just because the term isn't accepted by the ones it describes does not mean it is not descriptive. If you don't like it I am open to an alternative. But as it stands Cultural Marxist is a useful descriptor of those who apply aspects of Critical Theory to further their own idpol agendas. No matter how little it has to do with actual Marxism to people who know their literature.
