Disillusionment general

I've actually started tuning out politics because it does my head in so much. I'm being so not tuned in that I'm becoming politically uninformed

Hrmmm, it's almost like this is on purpose

Maybe. I think it's mostly people being petty idiots who view politics as a sports game of rooting for one sports team over the other.

Leftists also are making me disillusioned with their LARP-ing, to be fair.

They are trained to be like this by all-permeating spectacle and propaganda. Politics as entertainment and commodified branding is part of the ruse.

Join PSL. This is war, not a matter of emotions. It's fucking war. Get used to it. The only way to get over disillusionment is organising in your community, organising your community and GETTING SHIT DONE. This way when your day comes and you die you can die proudly, sure that you did what you could.

But PSL are tankies

By which you mean they have a coherent ideology that doesn't fit into the mainstream jerryboree? Yes, they are.

As in the support the invasion of Hungary and their conception of socialism is social democracy in a one party state

nice meme

Stalin was a practical man. He didn't fiddle with papers and pencils.

How many people have you organized in your lifetime? What results have you achieved?

Is this another SSSR meme? What's wrong with democracy?

Organisations are a means to an end and PSL is the only organisation in the US that's not a fucking joke. Or do youhave any alternatives?

Stalin is a bit denser to read than Lenin, I will give you that. He didn't produce ideology, just mostly analysis. Other than that, he's been dead for 60 years. This is 2017, what is your plan?

Deprogrammed a few, so the discourse may yield results not clogged by anachronistic schismatic enthusiasts like yourself. I have no answers. Only the dialectic can product answers, and I can only work to undo its poisoning. Enjoy your romantic hobbyism though.

Well done, keep on. We'll sort this mess out eventually.
Commander Guevara said you need to work with romanticism as well as with pragmatism - I have often seen his point.
Go choke on a dick, user.

[spoiler]Stalinist Posadism[\spoiler]

This is more true than ever with the internet.

I'm 30. I live in Canada.

I don't know where or what actually represents my opinions anymore. I grew up in a 'conservative' part of the country, but have always leaned to what I thought was 'progressive' or 'liberal'. Pro-gay, Pro-Abortion*, Pro-minority. Civil rights. Fuck corporations/banks. Cronyism is the cancer of western society. Social nets are important. High taxation of the wealthy. etc.

For 5 years I focused on my career/schooling, and when I decided to enter my Masters program. Right now I see alarming trends that don't appear to be 'progressive' that are incredibly popular with Liberals and progressives. I've had several arguments with students that lead to meetings with my supervisor/Dean.

Example: Immigration is a good thing, both morally and ecnomically. Uncontrolled immigration causes problems, Germany is a notable example. I don't think Religion has a place at work/school, on a list of shitty religions doing shitty things, Islam is on the top of the list with Scientology and Mormonism following. Transgender rights is a legitimate issue, but overshadows more widespread and dangerous problems in society. I don't think children should be taught gender is a choice.

More and more often it feels like I'm on a bus fully of crazy people. Each person is screaming and shouting about the dangers ahead on the road, both imaginary and real. All of them are fighting for control of the wheel. Meanwhile I'm the only one noticing the bus is running out of gas, and the engine is on fire.

That's because liberalism is all about personalities. Because it only cares about the individual. So liberals only talk about personal issues and almost never talk about politics.

Lol, no it isn't. It's a deranged mental illness brought on by alienation and extreme narcissism/individualism. It is just a product of capitalism.

Welcome to the post-factual society

To add: I understand the appeal of Socialism, but don't think it full answer to problems modern society is facing.

It certainly is a mental illness. I'm not sure how it is a product of capitalism.

Yes. It is disconcerting.

This is why the Liberal is not your friend, the Liberal is a product of Capitalism functioning as a political devils advocate autonomously.

I wouldn't want to abolish the individual, although I wouldn't mind eliminating the self obsessive, selfie obsessed individual.
I want a solitary, scholar as today's individual.
