Front Mission

Just finished the Front Mission from the snes and i realize there is a gba version, how much am I missing if i dont replay it?
da fuck was that all about?

There's a DS remake that's good.

i will play that when i finish FM: Gun Hazard

I tried playing Front Mission on the SNES, but the text is fucking up, keeping me from proceeding.

Run pretty good in retroarch using the snes balance thingy, or you could play the ds version.

My first game of Front Mission was Front Mission Evolved. Is that bad?

I was playing it on the SNES emulator for the 3DS. That might have been the issue.

Front Mission 5 is the only good one.

I heard that the Front Mission manga is a good game as well.

Play the DS remake
It has a new campaign.

You cant play comicbooks, you silly.

She has it coming but it surprised me.

its a spin off and i think no body liked it, just play from the start

Did anyone else think the female MC in Front Mission 4 (the ps2 one) looked like brityany spears? I sure did way back when it came out. I loved the look of the game, however I ended up never finishing it for some BS reason. I used cheats in the SNES game too. I just could never get in to the autism of it and wanted to move my units to shoot to see explosions.

Front Mission 3 is top tier

...

I played it the last. I couldn't get into it because of how much it relies on RNG. Like most TRPGs. I absolutely loved art style and music though.

Never played it. Mainly due to it never being fully translated.

Baby's first Front Mission, that's right. Absolutely loved it, completed both branches several times just to see sub-branches and all characters and mech.
Great music, great design, great art, minimal RNG, better internet in a video game than at my home at the time.
Shit is god tier.
Pham is the best girl.

I tried to emulate it once and it was freezing during the intro. So I haven't played it.

Played like 60 hours of it and made a mistake of entering VR dungeon business. It got burned me out of the game real quick. It also felt a bit too anime with shitty jokes and ultra old cliches.
And actual combat animations didn't have that heavy metallic feel of FM3. I specifically went to check if it was my nostalgia goggles after a while, and actually replayed the damn thing again. I just can't enjoy FM5 after 3 despite all of the quality of life improvements.

Completed it once. It was a bit too sci-fi for my tastes, but solid 9/10 otherwise, no fucking complaints.
Great gameplay, great art, great graphics, great integration of the ability to dismount mech, super cool atmosphere, one of the best games I have ever played.
Yes I know there are other games like this, but they all have different art styles and settings so I never bothered with them

Well yeah, it was shit. But what was the most heart-crushing is that core gameplay was good. Mech controls feel good, weapons feel good, models are good, visual customization is good.
It's like japs made good tech demo and gave it to white pig for them to ruin it completely.
It could have been a true new rival to Armored Core franchise, but instead it became piece of shit.
I'm still mad at double helix, no amount of Strider can redeem this shit.

Shit's grim dark and really well drawn, but a bit too pretentious for my tastes. Yeah war is bad, but do we really need every single character being mentally ill in one way or the other? Do we really need ambiguousness the reporter's character? They made them borderline christmas ghost by the end. It was almost cringeworthy.
But action scenes, mech porn and gore were all good.

Never got the chance to even try them.
I don't care much for squad game, but I really wish I played online. From the videos it looks almost like good version of Evolved minus the visuals.

I hate tactical games, too bad because I like the setting but tactics is the last thing that I want when it comes to mech games.

I kinda hate the dismount ability in hazard gun

I wish i was the big mech, bullying smaller ones

Why, user?

I always loved the Internet in FM3, especially with you hanging around news and hacker BBS's.

Emma looked like a dude for the most part. Full name being Emir didn't help.
Lukav looking like a woman also made me hate him before he became main villain.
Alisa was an annoying dumb cunt, the catalyst for the entire shitshow, just fuck her.
That third one you're talking about I don't remember, last time I replayed it 10 or so years ago jesus christ.

Pham on the other hand
She's fucking perfect mate.

just finished gun hazard, next is front mission 2

If you're going to do something, either do it right or don't do it at all as i have no intention of opening a fucking notepad every two minutes to read the text.
What's even worse is that "translators" for it threatened to nuke everything if people reposted the zip file with the translations anywhere which happened in like, less than a day, and then threw a bitchfit and removed it from their website.

wut? im seeing like two sites with translation of front mission 2 right now, just need to patch it to the iso

Fuck that game. Any RPG that arbitrarily splits up your party without any warning at some point in the game, and also doesn't have an XP catch-up mechanic, is a shit-tier piece of garbage.

It was years ago.

git gud fgt.

That is literally the easiest front mission, git gud

Well at least you played when it got a translation, right?

I just want to play videogames

Feels good mang

Pics with time stamp or it didnt happen

The hotest latest CPUs used for Wanzers are HUMAN BRRRRRAAAAAIIINNNNZZZZZ

So yeah, his lover being his mech in a very terrible state is quite literal and not metaphorical.

fug

...

What's wrong with it? Looks better than most ps1 games. FM3 looks even better than that though.

I don't see the problem.

There's something oddly comfy about this kind of graphics

...

I can confirm these excellent numbers. I played the hell out of the DS version. Had at least 10 tours of duty combined through the two intertwined storylines.

UCS Forever.

I know it's awful, but at this point you could probably just torrent it: Front Mission Evolved.
-There's some bullshit parts restrictions at points. (I'm looking at YOU quad legs requirement with sanic boss fight)
-The recurring boss goes sanic mode alot and that gets really annoying.
-On foot sections are shoe horned and are no fun at all.

But daggum is the mech combat fun. If you can slog through the bad parts you can certainly salvage a decent play experience. My favorite loadout was a huge shield with the biggest dakka gun I could find. You could shoot from behind the shield. Riot police with a shotgun instead was also a good time. Pretty sure I just slapped some grenade launchers on the shoulders, and had the "MOAR POWER" backpack. I remember it being statistically superior to every other option.
You can run it on a toaster too, I know I did.

It's an ok game, just at least torrent it and play it. It's old enough for that now.

Bloody hell, now I need to go play some FM.

My favorite part of evolved was the intro, specifically the part where a bunch of Wanzers slam into each other into a brutal melee. The game failed to live up to my expectations afterwards, but man that was good fight scene.

In front mission 2 you can get some free parts in the network, is that shit turns the game into easy mode? Should I ignore it?
