However, even if you do escape, you should respect the norms and rules of your new home and hopefully make meaningful contributions to this new societies, which many immigrants (inlcuidng those in Moscow) just don't do.

You can face the consequences of not helping, which would impact later politics, sure, but nobody is forced to help to begin with. And if they do, you should be deeply thankful. You shouldn't expect it or demand it as if you deserved it.
