That certainly didn't help, but don't kid yourself. Warframe was already substantially worse than it launched by the time that buyout happened, which if I remember was like 2 years after the Steam launch which itself fucked up the fun Diablo-like random loot system. It should surprise fucking no one that it continued to get worse, chinks or not. DE never had a clue what they wanted to make aside from "ninjas in space ecks dee." If I could describe Warframe's development in one word, it would be rudderless.

Ok, I'll play the contrarian role here.
The game is fine. It's even above average. Hearing the usual banter on Holla Forums makes it sound like the game is unplayable, which is largely away from the truth.
Now, I can understand early adopters getting frustrated from some early changes. Not all of them were bad though. Like dropping copter for bullet jump was a major improvement. But still, I get the salt that comes from "losing" something.
However, I still play it fairly regularly. I don't know of any other game that has a similar movement and aesthetic. And for that, my overall evaluation of the game is still positive.

Well, I guess if they still have registered losers they must be doing something right. I played a couple hundred hours but haven't touched it in like a year and don't plan on it. They need to set out a roadmap for what they want done before it's 'finished' and actually fix shit.

I still play from time to time, and the recent weapon balance pass has me hopeful, what with them adding a 25% crit chance to the panthera's altfire. With this and Nezha, I'm consistently hitting ~50 percent of my teams damage unless someone has the simulor, tonkor, or Tigris. The +114% multishot and +222.2% damage riven mod helps too.

I can deal with all the nerfs and the grinding (to an extent), my problem is that they focus on adding meaningless cosmetic shits and more warframes which quickly just gather dust because they aren't actually useful.

The problem is the core gameplay modes are utterly tedious. The game isn't challenging at all, it's just tedious. They need to rework the difficulty and add more varied gameplay modes.

You always could even after SOTR, you're still dependent on what rifts show up though, and you still have to farm relics, which you can also do alone.

When coptering was still in your vertical movement was absolute shit and whether you wanted to go fast or not was tied directly to your melee weapon, that melee weapon's attack speed, and constantly getting stuck in the geometry when crouching uncapped your speed. Bullet jumping and the addition of a doublejump gives you a lot of vertical movement which lets you bypass a large number of elevators in the game, and whether you're fast or slow doesn't depend on what melee you bring. Double-jump also gives you directional air control as it lets you airbrake, and aimglide will let you go even farther as you can aimglide->backflip in the air if you want, you can also bullet jump->double jump->roll->repeat to go faster. The way they changed wallrunning to wallhopping was dumb though, as wallhopping looks stupid as fuck but it's more controllable than the old wallrun used to be.

But there's been new game modes, my complaint is that they are not used nearly enough on alerts and sorties. That kuva fortress defense is preety interesting, with escalating environmental hazards and such.

Should have wasted some more, maybe then you'd learn to play the dang game. Coptering was tied to your meelee weapon, limiting your loadouts, was only really helpful horizontally. Bullet jump allows for full rom, can be upgraded with mods, can be used with any weapon.

In terms of having high-level engaging missions to do (T4S/T4D) old system was way better, but it's so much less painful to farm for items now. Farming the relics themselves gets pretty bad, but you can get by real well with minimal effort. Kuva flood doesn't really substitute for that sustained mission type, and endless relic missions are great but unreliable.

He can enter and exit the void at will by "rolling" (it looks like a Bloodborne dodge instead of a roll for him now.) which as long as you no enemies in are in there with you means you can use it as a dodge with unlimited i-frames. It also creates a rift that your teammates can enter the rift through (they can only stay for a few seconds).

he has a new ability bound to 2 that stops time for anything and everything in the rift except tenno, companions, and allies. This includes projectiles so you can pull a DIO and stop time and unload hundreds of spira into the general direction of the enemy and then unfreeze it and they get merked. (you can do this with any weapon but if you don't use knives then it isn't a jojo reference)

Rift Surge is now Molecular Prime but only for enemies in the rift.

I believe that he is supposed to passively gain energy when he kills enemies in the void but I haven't noticed that happening either.

Banish and Cataclysm basically work the same but have the added synergy with his new mechanics.

Overall pretty cool, i'm enjoying him and my DIO cosplay.

I decided to try it out thanks to a certain group of people endlessly discussing it earlier this month, and it's pretty bad compared to what everyone says here. Even though I played for only 10 hours it felt like 50 hours just because of the amount of times I had to go through the same shit. The amount of grinding for parts is downright frustrating as I spent the better part of an evening trying to get parts for a weapon I wanted only to get everything but what I wanted.

I would be playing FFXIV instead but the sub fee really hurts the bank.

Okay all spite aside the answer is a solid NO. The game quality has gone down and the plot's become an even more convoluted plot full of holes. Not to mention keys are gone, you need to grind for their replacement, then grind for materials to level them up. Also you can't go for an hour off of one survival key anymore so there's even more tedious grinding. It's just not worth coming back to for anything but to rip models for porn generation, and I'm pretty someone's beaten you to it in that regard.

I'm still pissed that they limited it to ONE OCTAVE of a PENTATONIC SCALE in ONE KEY at ONE TEMPO.
I refuse to believe it would have been too hard to implement a full western music system with 3+ octaves. But god forbid someone make something dissonant or difficult to follow. God forbid they let you mute octavia. God forbid they let people police themselves and block people who play annoying songs, or even let you turn the music down and just leave the metronome.
And it's not like they even stopped it from being annoying because now everything is so samey and stupid fucking meme songs like Sandstorm and Le ebic sagz man :DDD can still be forced into your teams ears. But good, well composed songs that actually take advantage of chord progression or more than ONE FUCKING OCTAVE? can't have any of that.

The idea is not that bad and it's actually pretty powerful if you can manage to do combat in time with a song while still not fucking up.
The real problem is that the way the music was implemented is orders of magnitude worse than mario music maker. Mario music maker gives you like a dozen instruments and a full, unlimited sheet music system. Octavia does 1 set of 3 ('futuristic' synth-noise) instruments at a time (1 set included, other sets sold seperatly) and all of the instruments are limited to 5 notes of 1 octave of 1 key (D major), and cannot be slowed down or sped up, and you also have no dynamic control.
I think the point was to prevent spamming dissonant notes at high volumes, but the end result isn't much better because only the most annoying songs can be written in pentatonic D major (such as Darude - Sandstorm), and there is no option to mute her music because the Devs thought that they had made the system so limited that nobody could ever produce anything that sounded bad.

How many of you knew that if you go into operator mode and shoot a Battalyst with your hand laser that it will reset all of it's damage resistances? Because I sure as hell didn't until today.

Depends on the frame. Most require one or two rare parts and a couple common/uncommon, and will sell for about 100 (considering you find a buyer, trading demands patience both for the grinding and making a sale).
But other frames, like Vauban, sell for much more, because ALL his parts are rare. It's not hard to make 200 on vauban

Syndicates are a good way to keep small, consistent income of plat. They need initial investment, though. I spent net of €33 to get 2K plat back when I was new. Have about 5K now and have spent at least 4K on myself and gifting shit to the clan. Gotta spend plat to make plat. So I've shifted maybe 10K plat from trading back and forth and spending.

People think this game tries to jew you but that's the good ending. The bad ending is that you become the jew. Still feels good to gift a potato or 2 to newfags. Too bad there's only oldfags in the clan now since the purge. Taxis are even dead so can't even fucking have a good ole hate-yet-love chat with noobs and end the conversation with a slot/potato gift out of nowhere to keep their spirits up. Fuck

When you do get them ask yourself, "Do I need this now?" and "Is this significantly better than the non-prime version that I already have specced out?"

If the answer is no, sell that shit if you're needing plat. I mean unless it's your favourite frame/wep, there's really no reason to build the prime versions over selling them if they actually go for decent plat. Plat will serve you more than 50 extra armour or double magazine will. And remember that you'll eventually get that prime/whatever again someday, and it'll be easier because you had plat reserves to bulk your game up.

Unless you have a shitton of Nitain laying around, don't bother with vauban for now. It will just infuriate you. If you manage to get it (lol 4 rares), you might want to sell it.

It becomes less of a bother as you become a veteran in the game, doing your ocasional nitain alert. When Vauban came out I was still relativelly new, and had to install a phone app that notified me of nitain alerts, so that I could at least get 2/day. Still took me a week of regular grind to amount all the nitain needed (not as bad, considering that's about as long it took me to get all his parts). But still, I can see why people get mad at nitain costs of some items.

It deters new players like fuck, though.
In fact, everything about Warfarm deters new players.

OTher than a lot of unexplained mechanics I wouldn't say so. The game is essentially trading one grind for another. At the start you're grind for basic materials and mods, and by the end you're grinding for forma and relics.

Doing it manually. Not so shabby I think for only been newbie trading for a little over a week.

Man I always try and go for big scores like selling a set of prime stuff, but that seems effective like day trading stocks.

Either way works, really. After I bought 1K plat I bought and resold popular prime sets. It could take a long time and was usually awful. Now I just sell smaller things most of the time. If someone wants a common mod and I'm in trade chat I jump on it because my instincts still tell me to even though I have plenty of plat. Besides if you're only wanting slots/potatoes then selling for pennies is all you need to do.

I still enjoy the game.
It's diferent from when I started playing (I think it was 3 years ago or so).
But meh, I can enjoy the new stuff too. It's not as good as the the previous story but it sorta works.

Also posting because LIMBO IS A FUCKING BEAST NOW.
Fucking finnaly. I gave up on his quest (because it's bugged) and simply bought it because I have a thing for alternate dimensions.
Tried him solo and it was great.
Then I realized how much he sucked paired with other players on a a sortie.
He seemed a "I'll handle that big one, you guys handle the rest", but often, you'd shift the big guy to limbo to fight him and your team mates would still focus him and waste ammo.

Right now thought? Holy fucking shit, he's sweet.
and cataclysm is still the same, with the twist that, using the MATRIX TIME STOP bullshit, you essentially freeze a ton of shit, set up all those bullets (try using a beam weapon, it's hilarious) and nothing touches your defense objective.
Oh and if there's any other Limbo players, here's the secret combo-wombo to great Limbo play:
If you want to be extra cheezy and are rolling in energy (maxed flow lets you have 450 and that shit regens in the limbo) you can use the third ability and then repeatedly cast Cataclysm over and over again in a room.
Just dispell and re-apply over and over again.
Every Cata that blows is a massive AoE that banishes folks into the Limbo with the 3rd abvility. You can let them be there for a while, or you can cast it again. And again. And again. They stumble everytime too so it's not like they can anything.

Combo it with multishot, slash, toxin and damage mods
Have not even forma'd it once yet but it's melting groups of lv 45 enemies.

Against big targets it stacks huge bleed procs, and against groups of enemies, it travels through all of them, almost garunteeing a toxin proc. Because it's damage numbers are already almost in the 10,000s, those procs clean up.

I finally get rivens. I used to think they were desperate or lazy attempts to create a large amount of interesting loot. Now I realize that the riven disposition system actually makes it so that any weapon can be viable and enjoyable late game.

In other news, I've fallen in love with Ash. Zipping around like a McEdgy ninja spamming his 3 and 4 all the time. Fun stuff.

Mesa isn't top tier, but she's still just below it. Obscene amounts of effective HP against anything that isn't melee or AoE, reload speed/firerate passive for secondaries, really strong damage buff/poor man disarm, and can turret really well with Peacemaker. She's a good frame.

Limbo post-rework is the Dio frame. Stupidly overpowered top tier meme-frame, can CC entire maps.

Tenora is still shit compared to the Soma Prime, even worse because the Tenora requires MR10 for some godawful reason so it isn't even worth it for newbies.

Face it, bulletjump isn't quite as fast as coptering at the upper limit (unless you do shit like equip maglev) but it's much more controllable and fluid. Plus it gives you actual vertical movement.
