M+ AP rewards are A. being based on dungeon length (long overdue), and B. giving more AP from the weekly class hall chests and less from the M+s themselves, which will probably only burn out hardcore players even harder. RNG loot fuckery seems to be basically unchanged, despite it blatantly not working.

Some of Legion's foundation is simply unsalvageable. Something like MoP's issues were generally at least somewhat fixable (such as "mandatory" daily quests). At this point, a chunk of what they're doing is too little, too late, even if there have been some improvements over the past few months.

They really fucked up raiding. EM is full of shit bosses, bugs, and exploits, Trials of Honor and Nighthold were way too overtuned for their own good (to add insult to injury, your tier is a reskinned, shitty version of old TBC tier. Wtf?!). Fatboss can't say too much shit about Legion, but you can tell they're not really enjoying it. Are classes still fucked?

Cata beta - majority of Wotlk shit is fixed and classes have been rebalanced, for example healers no longer have infinite mana and if they dont manage their spells properly they will go oom real fast, dungeons and raids are hard again and if you fuck up something you die.

Then casuals complained like babies and Blizzard reverted all hard changes to being Wotlk tier easy, they also added alot of stupid OP shit to classes like mage/rogue/priest. Also shortly after launch Blizzard introduces a "PvP patch" which made certain classes like mage/rogue/priest even more OP while nerfing shamans/warlocks/hunters which caused around 30% of playerbase to literally ragequit, Blizzard had to issue a huge damage control saying they were slowly losing subs over 12 months instead of truth that they lost 30% in 1 month and were still bleeding subs.

MoP - mandatory daily quests, talent trees removed and instead you have 3 collumns to pick spells, 1 is for PvP 1 is for raiding and 1 is for AOE farming, so called "ability pruning" happend aswell which made gameplay so damn easy you could use Wotlk DK 1 button macro to PvP and raid with no problem. PvP is in worse state than S5 (first season of Wotlk) and PvE is boring as hell.

WoD - same shit as above only even bigger lore rape/retcon and no content at all apart from garrisons which basicly has you afking there just sending your followers on missions which killed what little community the game had.

Legion - bigger lore rape/retcon than WoD (which many thought wasnt even possible) and a new system that basicly makes it really hard to play your alts due to insane grind. Game is divided into 2 parts, insane 3 month grind to achieve something and retarded RNG within RNG, to make it worse they added legendary items as random world drops that have OP effects. Main weapons are replaced with artifacts, powerful weapons you never replace but you have to grind for 3 months just to unlock all passives that resemble OLD TALENT TREES IN THE FIRST PLACE. Also an even bigger ability prune happened in Legion so every spec is running around with maximum 5 spells they use in combat and to make it even more insulting each spec is a Fury warrior now with different color, you build rage then use rage spending ability (shamans have blue rage bar, boomkins pink rage bar, locks have soul shard rage bar, paladins holy power rage bar, priests "insanity" rage bar etc etc etc)

It's not called rage for the classe but works almsot the same way.
Monks for example have Chi that gets used during attacks and regenerates itself over time.
Warlocks have their shards they need to generate using abilities to spend it on more powerful ones, just like Paladins with their Holy power and Shadow Priests with Insanity.
Every class has one form of extra resource, that either autofills itself to be spend, or needs to be filled through weak abilities and spend on stronger ones.

how did monks work in Ragnarok?

They started off as acolytes/priest which were healers. Healers in ragnarok game were popular for the buffs they could give out.

You could max out agility spells to make you run faster. When a player died they'd be revived at a neaby town with 1hp and 1mp, a healer would be requested to fully heal them at a lower price then a inn would provide when healing a player. You would also be paid services to provide buffs since they were very useful, there were ways to improve it further with help of another class I think also which involved soul linking.

Monks / champions were the later stage of the acolyte class and could summon orbs of chakra would could be absorbed into the player again to restore mana quickly, so you would be spamming chakra and absorbing it to quickly restore energy. You also had a transformation if had 5 orbs around you which was basically like going super saiyan.

Monks were simply just a dps/healer hybrid but with how you absorbed chakara and powered it was like being something from DBZ. being able to teleport around, throw energy blasts, charging up ki for a destructive punch that shook the area, it was quite interesting for its time.

I miss when buffs were actually good and not just assumed bonuses you get in any group.

Blizz would have to genuinely try to top WoD in terms of shittiness. I consider it pretty even with Cata at this point, tit for tat. 7.1 > 4.1, and it seems possible that similar will occur with 7.2 vs. 4.2.

I recall H SFK/Deadmines taking about as long as their original iterations. But then again, it was expected for vanilla dungeons to take upwards of a few hours, while Cata-era dungeons were expected to take about a 40 or so minutes tops.

I legitimately miss city-esque, non-linear, or longer dungeons, but the participation dropoff and eventual splitting of new Karazhan shows that they're basically impossible to pull off in the current game environment.

As for Nighthold, its biggest problem is relative lack of variation between bosses. It's pretty much the modern raid formula to a T. First boss has simple, forgiving mechanics, and is relatively undertuned. Patchwerk-type fight exists (2, in fact). Add clusterfuck fights exist. Most of the boss fight rooms are circles or squares. None of the boss fights feel terribly experimental. The difficulty curve is a bit wonky in Mythic as well. Auriel and Star Auger (both since nerfed) are the biggest suspects.

The Horde's themes are schizophrenic at best. When the devs want to play up the Orcs vs Humans shit, the Horde is portrayed as unstoppable monsters that the whole world (including the Horde players) needs to unite to stand against. When they want to play up some PVE threat nobody gives a shit about, the Horde is nothing but a punching bag to be beaten up, then trampled.

The worst elements of the Horde have always been the Forsaken, though. The Forsaken are a plot tumor that will never go away, especially now that Blizzard wrote Sylvanas into the role of Warchief.

There's battle.net tokens that give 30 days of in-game time you can buy from the auction house, they're worth ~90k on NA servers now, so for those too lazy to grind their own gold they can just buy tokens to sell. Gold is ridiculously easy to get, especially if you had already abused Garrisons in WoD before Legion came out, a friend of mine was sitting on half a dozen gold-capped characters by the time they kneecapped Garrisons so people wouldn't go to them anymore

There's more, now you can use those fucking tokens to buy anything from in-game shop. From mounts to realm transfers and race changes.

At the end of WoD. I got on WoW late (at the end of Cataclysm), so I still was enjoying it for most of MoP and the start of WoD (I had a raid group composed of RL friends, so it was better than playing solo). But Legion, I couldn't tolerate. It seemed boring as fuck.
