The point of Star Wars isn't the hero's journey or good vs evil. It is humanity's declining obsession of technology and the vast advancement towards the spiritual. It works as a continuation of THX 1138. The hero's journey, good vs evil plot, and the omnipresence of the Force are utilized to create an allegory to christianity and therefore giving stronger emphasis to the spiritual message.

Why are the prequels kino? Because the prequels provided a clearer image of the spiritual future as envisioned by George. This incredible vision of societies that no longer depend on intellectuals and technological progress, but on spiritual leaders and prophets, is one of the greatest landmarks in cinema history. George is truly one of the greats, along with Tarkovsky, Bresson, Bergman, Fellini, and Bunuel.

Doing it in the span of less than a decade is straight up bullshit, though, and even merely a decade is probably pushing it if I'm honest.

Kojima already "finished" the story after MGS4 and wanted to quit making Metal Gear games for over a decade. The fans would never be satisfied so he left you hanging with a "to be continued". Remember he designed the game Mission structure to be like a syndicated TV series but most TV shows are canceled after season 2 without a final episode. The whole point was to leave you wanting more, ever line of dialogue also foreshadows this. It was intentionally unfinished. If you are lucky in another 10 years he will make a "reunion" episode where Gilligan finally leaves the island.
