I am still amazed just how unnoticed this game was when it came out, saying that it died would be a mistake because for something to die it would have to be alive first. This game simply disappeared the very day it came out, it wasn't even a fart in the wind, literally nobody cares about it.

because overwatch had a free beta weekend when it launched effectively shitting itself before it was out of the gate. the gameplay and mechanics was probably the best of the three paladins/born/overwatch. but its entry cost made everyone turn away from it for overwatch which was 40 bucks. that and people liked the girls from overwatch more

Man, Battleborn is so nice. Its horrible failure still gives me constant warmth and comfort.
Stuff like No Man's Sky was like a midsummer pyre that burned hot and bright, had people dancing around it and quickly burned away all credibility Hello Games/Sean Murray might have had. But at the end of the night the fire burned out and people went home.
Battleborn is like really expensive wood being burned in a fireplace. It burned steadily and provided warmth. All that remains is a pile of embers, still letting off a little heat and glowing faintly, and slowly suffocating Gearbox in carbon monoxide.
