I'd like a remastered version of Other M where you can move and shoot missiles at the same time. (making the enemies harder at the same time, otherwise it would be broken)
That would be nice, although I can see the entire library ported to the Switch unedited (((for just 50 shekels))) and talking about that, how well would it be able to handle the games?

If it happens, it'll probably be another Prime game. Both Prime 3 and Fed Force left plot hooks for another, and with the bad reception to Fed Force and Other M I can't imagine they'll take any risks. Of course, a Metroid game at all at this point is probably a risk to Nintendo. I'd probably buy it too, but only after I can justify buying a Switch. Money doesn't grow on trees.
Actually competent controls would at least make the game fun to play, though I'd also like to be able to skip all the cutscenes and plot. I can't recall if this was possible in the base game, since I haven't played it since about two weeks after release.

The Switch will never be justifiable, it is just a gigantic piece of shit. Even at half the price it's just not worth it. But a new 3D title (dare I hope 2D) would make it very, VERY tempting.
Switch can do gyro aiming, which is slightly less good than IR aiming. But I'm not sure they would port Metroid Prime without making it a traditional twin-stick FPS

Eh, Switch has a hell of a lot of promise. The shitposting about it's been very enjoyable to read through, especially the guys trying to figure out how they squeezed that much performance out of a Tegra X1 while completely ignoring it has a cooling element unlike most every mobile device it's put into where it's severely underpowered to make sure it doesn't just melt through the rest of the thing.

AM2R is bloody fantastic for a fangame, straight-up better than even a huge deal of the good Super Metroid ROM hacks I've played. Metroid Prime-like features in a 2D game up to and including logbook entries, physics are pretty accurate to Zero Mission/Fusion despite being Game Maker, music used is good.
Sure. Make it 2D and made by Nintendo or employ those Texans if they want a 3D one. Nintendo cannot fuck up Metroid any harder at this point.

The whole soundtrack sounds fucking spot on for a metroid game, and is either remixes of old metroid themes suiting the area, but with sound effects of other games, or original themes also with the sounds of other games.
I'd almost call it a love letter but as we know Nintendo doesn't let us have nice things. Top 3 games of 2016 for me, I enjoyed it immensely.

a lot of people miss the unique movement mechanics of Super Metroid. momentum actually counts, and comes into play in platforming or complex maneuvers. none of the other games had momentum, since the fucking wario 4 engine just had to be used for F and ZM.
can't pin down a single one, but i really liked all the bosses of Fusion.
what i really want is a 2D game where you are alone and need to explore. i think nintendo is capable of this based off Zelda BOTW, but every platformer nintendo makes nowadays has the NSMB style of level design.
whatever it is, i hope it has more focus on platforming than it does on shooting. definitely won't buy a switch for it, even if it is good.
like The Phantom Menace, OM is a perfect storm. it fails on every single level, first as a game, then as a story, and everything else falls apart from there. there is no single good thing about it, and fixing one aspect only makes another, worse aspect more noticeable.
fix it to be harder and shoot missiles while moving? now you'll realize the normal attack moveset is shallow. fix that? now you'll realize none of the enemies are interesting. eventually you'll see yourself redesigning the entire map to implement proper exploration, then trashing the story since it relied on the bottleship which you have now removed.
how about just normal MP controls, like 1 and 2, and change some of 3's gimmick portions?
