Recently picked up the most recent issue of Game Informer, #288. This one had their annual parody article called "Game Infarcer". In it, there was a piece by the "editor-in-chief: Darth Clark" called "Stop With The Politics". It reads as follows (Sorry I couldn't get any scans of it),
Are they trying to be funny here? Am I supposed to laugh at this?
Oh, like we never had female protagonists until just recently, right? Never mind characters like Samus Aran and Lara Croft.
I have no problem with developers touching on political themes in their games, but not the ham-fisted way like Bioware or any other pozzed developer does. They only show one side of the argument. There's always a strict good and bad dichotomy going on. Things aren't like that in real life.
They just shot themselves in the foot here. Old games tend to have more mileage in them than new, so he would be right when he says this.
Anyway, this was nothing more than poor attempt at satirizing us. Thoughts?
