I will check those slick dubs but I have to commend your stupidity for preordering any game ever.

DR2

the country western song that plays in the restaraunts
anything after DR2 is shit
never

The original. It might just be nostalgia speaking, but I feel like there was a certain B movie charm and a unique atmosphere present in the original that all the sequels were lacking. DR2 is significantly better from a gameplay perspective, but the world and characters feel so bland and uninteresting to me. I don't know why.

Doesn't matter what game it is. Kill yourself.

The series went the wrong way with DR2.

Taking away all the challenge from rescuing survivors. Increasing the length of the zombie grab attack making it a constant tiresome element, and for no good reason since the primary hazard of getting caught by one in the first game was that it seriously endangered your survivors. Add to that how fucking slow you run at the start of the game compounded with the larger map and you have a miserable experience.
The availability of overpowered combo weapons makes the random items that you find around the map less useful. This is reinforced by the normal items also often being less powerful than in the original. Scrambling for weapons and using desperate tactics should be encouraged, it plays into the zombie theme. Combining items could in theory fit thematically, but they are too overpowered, poorly implemented and nonsensical. I think that the original could benefit from slightly nerfing the boss weapons as well, but that is not as big of a problem.

Chuck plays like shit compared to Frank. The voice acting is shit, just compare the energy difference between the two calling out for survivors. His character and the story that he goes through are dull as shit. He controls worse, played on pc with a 360 controller its even hard running in a straight line because he is so skittish. Part of what makes him less fun to play is also that animation quality between the two is down, there is something buttery over all of Franks moves, it adds a great deal of character to him (just look at that sexy hunched over run cycle) and makes Chuck seem very stiff in comparison.
I wonder if there are differences in attack animations between the two as well, because the simple act of hitting things in DR2 is less fun than in the original. Part of that is the removal of the little stutter that occurs in DR1 and the lower quality sound effects in DR2, but maybe there is something more to it.

With slightly worse music, boring reuse of assets, less interesting environment, less cheese and more in your face wackyness, it just feels like a lower quality product.

On the good side I like the embedded track and the improvements to the gameplay of the boss fights.

your penalty should be much greater than 60 dollars for funding this caliber of trash

Ah yes. The primary example of a series deteriorating drastically over time.

If DR2 did anything right, it was the music. Even bad games can have good music.

I know, it was just because of the discount and wanting to see if it was really that bad.

With DR2 it could be that the story itself isnt as interesting as the original even if it has moments like Chuck having to get zombrex to stop Katie from turning. The original played it straight and was how in an attempt to create a lot more cattle because americlaps ate more cows than there were being born they tried to clone them which lead to the creation of zombies. Also the true story route was bitter as fuck.

How come Case Zero and West never made it onto Steam anyways? Case West in particular since that could be a more appealing DR3 than the one we have.

Using the quick step combo drink or skateboards almost feel like a requirement in DR2.

But it doesn't have anything as radical as the convicts theme, and the classic mall music does not fit as well as it did in the original.

You just summed it up perfectly. Fuck I'm due for a replay of the first game.

You make it sound like everything in DR2 just left you with a sour taste in your mouth. And because of that reason you couldn't enjoy the few good things it had (music).

I also understand that the synth/metal screamo genre or whatever the fuck it is isn't for everyone, so that's a factor too. But the tracks are definitely on par with convicts, which is partially memorable for being giant dicks and the FMV sequence. A perfect storm to become memorable. There's nothing wrong with Gone Guru either its great.

I understand the position you are in, but I have to stand in defense of the music. It was definitely a high point maybe not just for the game, but the entire series. Rest of the game is indefensible though and there was never anything as memorable or cool as the convict fight.

DR1 by far is the best one. I know that game like the back of my hand as well.

Why are you here?

dead rising 4
what are those?
what soundtrack?
its nice, no longer have to play within like a time limit
uh yeah

...

Would you pre-order Lunch or just order Lunch?

I did say slightly worse, only one or two songs of DR2 stood out as outright bad. I think the cheesy music choices of the original adds more to the game, but I do not find 2 a huge downgrade in that area. The track that I linked (vip lounge) is exceptional, beaten in how much it adds to the game only by Mall Music 3 of the original. The creepy track that plays during Antoines cutscene is also great.

One more positive thing that stood out for me was how satisfying the pitchfork is to use in DR2. The one that throws zombies over your shoulder, I think the lance works the same way.

The only improvement the sequels made over the original is the AI, which isnt that much of an accomplishment considering the original's AI is fucking retarded.
Everything else went downhill.

Also, combo weapons are fucking retarded. The game went from mostly everyday objects to full retard.
If it was just the simple DIY ones like the nailbat, the shotgun with a pitchfork bayonet, ect. it might not be as bad.
But no, instead you get flashlight laser swords, headbutting zombies while wearing a flaming cow skull, and lolsorandom dildo launchers.

Hell no

Another franchise getting fucked over by shitty californian "dev" hispters.

"Own Little World" from 2
It's shit, it's all shit now and it's never going to get better. I actually liked 2 quite a bit for what it was, but 3 was absolutely irredeemable garbage.
Hell no. I care so little I thought it had already released and just been so shit nobody talked about it like 3.

...

That's even worse.

I thought saving survivors in the original to be very satisfying, it could be frustrating but it was ultimately fair in that you could learn the quirks of it. But it was obviously something which many had a lot of problems with.
How do you "fix" the survivor AI without doing what DR2 did - removing the challenge and intricacies of escorting them?

The problem is that survivors are an unrewarding, overdone chore. You always bring them to the same place, nothing unique or interesting happens, they say thanks and become unused for the rest of the game. Not a good mechanic.

They had a few unique missions, some of them you had to do or face losing massive numbers of survivors. But yes, perhaps taking them on an escort to some part of the mall for a weapon, piece of clothing, perhaps even to find other survivors would have been better.

At the same time, the survivors being so braindead and useless makes them difficult. If they were massively capable it would be a cakewalk.

That thought never even crossed my mind playing the original, and I don't think it rewarded you much more than the sequel did.
I had great fun with just herding them whilst trying to stem the zombie flood. Picking them up at different places, escorting different numbers, with different time constraints whilst juggling other scoops and cases provided enough variety for me. I think I would even enjoy a full game focused around it.
I suppose it could be even more enjoyable if there was some reward other that peepee at the end.

Canada is California : The Country.

Too convenient, it's not a Dead Rising game. They changed way too much.
No

I first played it when the PC port came out and enjoyed it to death. I tried to play 2 and off the record, and I got turned off in the first 30 minutes of both games due to the 'LOL SO RANDOM" bullshit.
It's definitely not nostalgia.

Was Bully the only good game to come out of Canada?

The Punchout reboot & the Mario Strikers games were good.

Sleeping Dogs was fun.

There have been plenty of good games to come out of Canada. It's just that Canada right now is in the clutches of SJW fucks who wouldn't know Originality if it smacked them in their face. I use to hate the Fallout intro of Canada getting annexed for it's oil, now I'd welcome it to get rid of the pinko fucks that infest us.

Anyways
2 It's the only one I've played actually
Seymour Redding Mainly because Revolver OP
I honestly like them all Though Gone Guru probably takes it
Going from slightly majorly camp 1&2 to Gritty edgy 3 made no sense even to me.
Why would anyone do that?

DR, it was the only one who got the Dawn of the Dead mood correctly

Cliff

tie between Justified and WEEEEEEELL, one because it fits the kinda dark tone of the ending and how the "villain" was justified in his vengeance and actually "won", the other for the memories of meeting the bastards for the first time with 4 survivors or so following me.

the one thing wrong with DR was the AI, but they somehow fix that and destroyed everything else. Gone is the feeling of surviving zombie hordes using real everyday objects instead of these wacky and funny combo weapons! Zombies suck when they are a actual menace so lets make you be able easily kill them by the thousands from the get go!

What made DR great to me was the Night of the Living Dead/Dawn of the Dead feeling it had, zombies could easily kill you and you had to use whatever you could find to kill them, until a few resets that is, how Frank is going insane little by little and everything seems hopeless, it was not a comedy game and there was just a few jokes here and there, But thanks to Canadian imbeciles and CRAPCOM the series became a Saints Row with zombies, Fuck this industry.

Anyone who buy this crap deserves the rope.

Ubisoft Montreol was pretty good back in the 2000s

Justified and Gone Guru.

Not even in desperate. Your turn.

DR4 genuinely feels like they rushed it, which explains why the maniacs replace the psychopaths and why they removed the co-op. From the view threads I lurked on on other websites supposedly the maniacs were rushed at the very end, with the "sadistic claus" apparently reusing Frank's model.

God damn, overtime mode and the true ending sucked.
Good track right here.

How do you do fellow goyim ?
Did you leave a positive review on Steam(tm)

For those who want to see DR4 story and everything wrong with it, Not only Overtime will be a DLC but they retcon the story in such a way that DR 1 is pretty much erased from the canon.

i get what overtime was going for but just getting collecting shit and waiting around was not fun, as for the true ending i liked it but wish there was more info on the aftermath and a better last battle.

I wouldnt be shocked if the good reviews came from people who only liked 3.

And of course when you scroll down you only see negative reviews.

Does anybody have that webm of "Sweet Little Lies" playing over Fallout 4's negative reviews that are supposedly very positive? Because yeah, this is another very dissonant case.

DR1 haven't played any others and I can't beat Isabella
Adam.
Steven's theme.
They should've left it at the second one.
No. Why would you even ask this?

Try grabbing an UZI from a fountain in Alfresca Plaza, the one near the food court and the Entrance Plaza.

even those manage to infuriate me, Co-Op is fun and all but to make it the defining feature of DR?

Grab a katana and stay on the conveyor walkway, she won't be able to reach you but will bounce around so your attacks can reach her.
Needless to say, DR has shit bosses. It has a lot of bad aspects but somehow manages to be an overall likeable game.

He's not wrong in the sense that the only redeemable feature of 2 and 3 is the multiplayer.

i killed the convicts and went to isabella with the jeeps machinegun. i beat her in 4 or 5 shots

I felt the story and the psychopaths in DR2 were too much of a carbon copy of the original at certain points. Also the "society used to zombies" setting is not as interesting as a fresh new zombie apocalypse. Which reminds me, it bothers me in the newer games that the technology, cars you find etc. are updated to the real life present - I know the society kinda survived and got used to the presence of zombies, but still in a world like this there should be different priorities.

Anyway, the original is the best for me. It's admittedly based on a gimmick so you can't really replicate the feeling after the first one, and it has so many fine details the later games miss completely (like in that DR4 comparison video).

...

How are these the bad guys?

because ignorant southerners don't understand that inclusion is the only way forward, of course. :^)

What an innocent time that was, but the corruption was already so in our faces.

It'd be cool if you had to discover most scoops by stumbling onto them, and after you discovered them you get a notification in subsequent playthroughs. I would also love it if items were limited so that you would have to plan ahead or make do with the most basic crap towards the end of the game.

I'm really sorry for you OP.

I fucking love Dead Rising 1. It's one of my favourite games of all time, it surpasses the sequels in every way.

I might be the only person that actually likes the AI because yeah sure, the pathfinding is shit but I love how some survivors are cowardly and would rather cry than do what you tell them to do and some will go out of their way to kill a zombie/cultist instead of staying in a safe space. Some require you to carry them and some are neutral and basically do what they're told. Not only that, but some cowards are more cowardly than others and some survivors are more aggressive than others etc. Each survivor reacts differently than the other. In DR2 they just follow you and never have any issues, boring.

You actually have to put effort into saving them. Some of the survivors will even curl up into a ball or crawl on the ground and ignore you if you don't give them a weapon or clear a path for them. People really don't give the AI enough credit but they'll run through a horde of zombies without killing a single one and blame the AI when they get grabbed.

I can start a new game from level 1 and kill every boss and save every survivor in one sitting without much issues, you just have to understand how the AI works.

I don't even know what my favourite psychopath or song would be, because they're too many good ones. If I had to choose it would be a tossup between Adam, Steven or Cliff and Gone Guru, Fly Routine, Slave or Justified.

I need information on this, just what the fuck did they do?

DR
Larry, just because the idea of fighting a demented butcher in the bowels of the mall is pretty awesome.
Justified. As much as the rest of the soundtrack for both 1 and 2 are cheesy as fuck, Justified comes across as a pretty serious tune that fits well with the overall tone of the game, especially after Overtime.
I still found DR3 fun. Definately fun enough to be a mindless zombie killing game, but no more, since it's just way too easy, even on Nightmare Mode.

holy shit, justice was done and DR4 is a total failure.

The "virus/wasp" origins and purpose was changed, instead of MORE MEAT Dr Barnaby was in a quest for immortality and/or cheap labor. Isabella is nowhere to be seen like she doesn't exist or have any importance to Frank, Carlito( if he even exist on DR 4 canon) Master plan seems to have never happen and/or existed instead in Willamette is Dr.Barnaby SECRET LAB from where the "virus" leaked and so much more, the video pretty much explain the entire DR4 story while showing how shitty it is if you want to know more.
