They've had some scandals involving racism and sexism. But you're right in that they're not as reformist/opportunist as SAlt.

Reformism and opportunism is pretty much basically all we have right now. What the hell is SEP going to do yelling at Sanders supporters?

Reformism and opportunism are certainly the easy way to do things since they don't require actual anti-capitalist action but in the end they just lead to "nicer" capitalism.

The idea is to play off left-liberals' (admittedly scant) moral sensibilities to strike at the weak points of capitalism, not to make it stronger. Entryism 101.

Reading Trotsky's works is somewhat worth it, even though his criticism of the Soviet Union is silly at best. He presents an argument close to anarchism of the problems of the soviet union but when he had influence in the communist power he was in favour of the cheka and killing dissents. In my view he was an hypocrite.

Most Trotskyites are really bad and have all the vices of bourgeois politics in them. My country has some Trotskyite parties, i even was a member of one of them. They have a trillions of sects for their own snowflake charismatic leader, and every small issue can create a split for no reason.
The most influential would be CWI ( Committee for a Workers' International) and the IWL (International Workers League). The IWL is a weird cult around Nahuel Moreno, and our local version of him. The ones I met irl were very idpol and highly divisionists because they didn't like the main Trotskyite party which I was a member. A well known IWL party would be PSTU in Brazil.

CWI is the branch which Kshama Sawant is related with. I guess these guys are the most decent ones, i know that PSOL in brazil is related to them, but i still don't know how they operate and their internal disputes.
