so how long is this "event"? it doesn't have an end date. is it a permanent thing?

is it me or the uncle prime box has a timing to it? let me explain what i mean:

before opening, you'll see the box jumps colors, it has 4 possible colors, bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.
silver and platinum look very similar, but you'll notice platinum has a slightly blue-ish tone to it and the sparks it emits.
usually i try to time my opening of the box with the gold color (or platinum if its available, it isn't always) i almost guaranteed get the color of box that i pressed the X button at.

im not 100% sure it works like this, you have to press the button just as the box finishes changing to the color you want. if the box has started to change color, it pretty much has already changed as far as the game is concerned.

so yeah, i try to aim for the gold/platinum box every day, and i often get M.I.L.K. Blacks from the platinum. the gold gives me gold animals, and gold animal-shrooms, the silver usually gives me repeated blueprints from jacksons area. and the bronze gives you pretty much endless garbage that you can find on the ground on any floor.

has anyone experienced this with the UP box?

Did they fix the RNG and grind?

Isn't that "platinum" just blue? Usually that color ends up giving the worst rewards. With the other points I'm pretty sure the category of reward is different each day, with the colors just denoting the rank of item (bronze giving D.O.D. Blue vs. gold giving M.I.L.K. Red for example. With my experience with the box the timing seems to be around halfway before it switches colors. I've managed to get gold pretty consistently with that, but it seems to change just by being a split-second off.

They put a bandaid on it at least by giving the secret shops all of the metals of the current area+materials from that area and the next one up. Still got to grind for KC or expedition/raid a lot though.

the blue has given me the best rewards so far. up to 4 milk black metals from all the blues i've opened. and thats quite a bit. i dont remember getting a single red metal from the box to be honest. and i've also opened a ton of golds.

but yeah, i was definitely sure the timing of opening mattered in some way.

if you use L3 to run that means your thumb is free to execute actions with the main buttons while you run. But if you use a main button (and have to keep it pressed while you run) you are essentially disabled from doing any action with the main buttons and the right stick as long as you keep running.

why claw when you can play like a normal human being when the run button is L3?

something like putting the dodge and the run in the same button is bad game design, something souls games are faulty for.

Because it's awkward and slow to respond. Sometimes you slip or might fail to click it down. I guess it comes down to personal taste, but I have never liked L3 to run, in any game.

I enjoyed this game as well but we really dont need anymore generals I understand overwatch has one but by adding this general we're encouraging more idiots to make generals on various games take it to /vg/ or something also there isnt much to discuss about this game other than reddit tier memes

nigga what? how is it any faster or slower than the buttons? and also how is it awkward? it literally puts all running-related actions in a single stick, the way it should be.

also that is why the PS4 controller sticks have an inward indentation, if we were still playing PS3 i'd give you that the sticks of the PS3 weren't made for having the sticks also be buttons, but the ps4 ones definitely fixed that problem.

Slowpoke here, I just watched the recording of the latest stream. The big guy wearing the mask cracks me up every time.

The game update is pretty neat so far. I just wish people would stop sending Hunters at me all the time, so I could fight more Chargers. But I guess that's what happens when everybody and their grandmothers got a lifetime's supply of golden beasts.

what the fuck man, the update won't download on my PS4. is anyone having the same trouble? i woke up this morning, turned it on, and the download was frozen, then it said can't download and it restarted itself. rinse and repeat like 5 times.

don't know what do anymore, it restarted itself again and its frozen at 100mb/6gb. cant open the game until i update it.

To be fair, this game is F2P, and (((Commie)))fornians never pass up free stuff. Most of them probably creamed themselves dry listening to Grandpa Bernie tell his fairy tale.

But I'm sure you're also right about disloyal outsiders joining the big guys just to exploit the reward system. Good to see the developers have actually started to respond to that shit. I hope they pull it off so the exploit dies, 'cause I can imagine it has been extremely painful for the game's economy.

HP sucker decals aren't that good. even if you combine them all, you'd be occupying 4 decal slots. (Blood sucker normal and premium, mosquito normal and premium). there's better things to occupy your slots than that endgame-wise.

also did anyone notice they changed the picture of the Barbarian decal? it was a guy wearing 2 swords, but they realized how stupid that was considering barbarian boosts 2handed weapons, so they changed the picture to the same guy wielding a spear. They also fixed the superalloy decal to say "more" than 70% instead of "less" than 70%.

my endgame Skillmaster uses 2 barbarians, 2 samurais, 2 superalloys, 1 dumbbell, 1 heavy tank, and 1 poison eater. its a shame i never managed to get the Barbell decal even with the event going on, i spent like 2 million killcoins on stew and no barbell.

Friendly reminder that today is golden beast day. Better go to Okusa and stock up on golden snails if you still need some.
In case you didn't know, you can knock a snail off a wall by throwing a raw beast at it. Golden beasts are fireproof, so the burning floor is no threat to them.

Why did no one tell me that gold animals were great for grinding exp? I stomp on a gold chicken and my character gets 24,000 exp.
Now I just need more money, because it's costing me 58,000 when i die past floor 20.

gold animals give ludicrous amounts of experience if you kill them, or eat them. and they're also worth hoards of kill coins when you sell them to hitler.

exp given when killed or eaten is the same, the difference is that, when killed, they'll spawn a golden shroom (a version more powerful than the grilled normal ones) and when eaten, they will heal your HP to maximum. up to you to decide if you want to use them for healing, cash, or shrooms. there is at least one spawning spot in the game for each golden animal, but most of them are down to luck, for example, Tsukiyo (floor 25 iirc) has a % chance of spawning a golden turtle.

there's also the floor 13 map okusa, okusa has a 100% chance of spawning 3 golden snails. they are grabbing from a wall up high and on top of a huge fire. the only way to get them down is to throw live animals at them. Golden animals are also immune to fire, as they cannot be cooked, so don't worry about them falling in the fire, worry about yourself not touching the fire while you crouch to grab them. Okusa is also one of those rotating maps, so its not available all the time.

Yeah that's it.
