The current problems which arise from For Honor's reliance on P2P is that whenever someone joins or leaves, the game has to synchronize with everyone in the match which just means more waiting. On top of which it can synchronize all the time in order to avoid lag spikes, which just gets too much in the fucking way if the host lives across the fucking universe. This connection method also allows lagswitches to be usable, an old tool which other faggots can use to appear frozen but then *teleport behind you*. And there's the security issues of other players being able to see your IP address, meaning if you manage to get someone butthurt enough they might actually try to DDoS you or do some other illegal shit.

What I don't get is why they didn't stick to datacenters like they did in Siege, where everyone connects to a gameserver closest to their region and don't have to worry that much about lag.

There's no way the game won't be dead by the time summer hits unless they actually bother to turn it around like the Siege launch.

Judging from how little they've done in the beta and since launch, and how they're apparently shooting for equivalent updates across all platforms, it's probably just going to stagnate and wither before its first 'season' is over.

Mostly for P2P. If you play it on the PS4, you're getting an inferior version of the game that runs at 30 fps if even that online. Rage comeback mechanic that just rewards bad players. Some overpowered abilities. It's just riddled with some poor design choices.
