Why does it seem like we're so anti-consumerist?

Why does it seem like we're so anti-consumerist?

It's gotten to the point where the general attitude here on Holla Forums is that spending money on video games is evil. More specifically:

1. Spending money on video games doesn't make the industry better because it only encourages more sub-par game experiences or exploitative DLC/microtransaction setups.

2. Spending money on video games is pointless because anyone, with enough effort and know-how, can simply pirate both console and PC games and play them for free.

3. Spending money on video games means you're a corporate whore that mindlessly follows the will of the evil corporations because you're too ignorant or blinded by your petty and childish fanboyism to see it any other way.

Since when have video games become something else than a product which can be bought or sold that people hate the idea of buying or other people selling games?

It is because most companies are shit and do not deserve your money

Too much corporate fuckery in the past decade. Consumer trust at an all time low.

All those things you just said have nothing to do with the fact everyone in the industry is an asshole.

Because Holla Forums knows capitalism is the root of all evil and communism is the only solution.

That's how it should be, you should only pay for smaller games that need support, or donate to its developer if it's free.

fishin' for them (you)s famalam?

Because consumer is cancer, and only serves to make people into corporate whore cattle for the kikes at the top, it is not a healthy capitalist partnership between buyer and seller, especially because there is no competition today.

And you're some sort of authority on the subject because?

No wonder this board hates the PS4, the only platform with games right now.
If only you'd get over your money phobia.
