no the real issue is that this board is relatively small compared to cuckchan. our threads stay up for a long time, it takes several days for even popular threads to hit bump limit and then even longer for them to finally disappear. anons are already in threads that interest them, just waiting for more responses to slowly crawl in. the only way to get rid of bad threads then is to shitpost in the threads and get them to bump limit as fast as possible so that they hopefully disappear

The real solution to these shit threads is to make better ones. For example, once the Fo4 thread dies, make a fallout general which includes all the good games. And tell the newfags who liek the taste of shit to fuck off.

If you want to moderate the board you should apply for volunteer and not shitpost vidya threads because you don't like the game that is being discussed. Providing negative criticism is one thing, shitposting to attempt to shut down discussion is another.

It's a complicated issue, for sure. I don't pretend to know the best solution. I in fact am a regular poster for the space game general and I honestly don't know what the rest of the board thinks of us, but I'd certainly be more than upset if the general consensus was that we are cancer that has to be purged and the moderators acted on that consensus.
With new AAA releases, I've come to expect generals for a bit as anons like to come together and discuss the merits and weaknesses of the new game. In that regard, I'm currently fine with the For Honor general. People just recently got their hands on this game and I even skimmed the general to get a feel for whether or not I would enjoy the game. Because of these things, I don't feel like outright banning generals is a good solution at all and I would even be inclined to allow the existence of ASSFAGGOT threads since some anons actually like playing that shit. However, threads like /fo4g/ have no reason to exist at all and I personally believe future attempts should get bumplocked on sight. no bans or deletion, just bumplocks. That gives the few people who actually think they belong here at least a few days to talk about fo4 before the thread dies.
All threads die, so I really don't see a point in outright deleting them, but I also feel like anons should have the ability to criticize people for liking shit games. In that regard, I feel like the intention sabotage rule should softened a bit especially for Mark's pet threads where any spam is an automatic ban though not entirely removed. If people can't handle typical banter and shitposting, they don't really belong here anyway
