Just a friendly reminder to you all that "islamaphobia" is not a real thing, but a liberal talking point. As socialists we should be absolutely islamaphobic if we are to make any headway.
That means all Muslims are culpable to some degree and none should be welcomed into our communities. How can you really trust someone who thinks a pedo warlord capitalist is the Lord's perfect human.
Christiany (the true commie religion) should be supported as a counterbalance, but that's a different matter
err your post kind of demonstrates Islamophobia is a thing, bro
Nathaniel Rodriguez
To the trash it goes.

I'm islamophobic, how is Islamophobia not a thing
Logan Reyes
Islam is shit but so is your religion Most Muslims are pretty meh Christianity is incompatible with a materialist understanding of communism (aka the only reasonable understanding) sage goes in the email field
Yeah but very few people on the contemporary left will apologize for fundamentalist Christianity or orthodox Judaism.

It means an irrational fear of Islam. But fear of Islam is obviously rational
Dismissal of Christianity hurts our potential allies. Liberation theology is a thing

Yeah, it's that pesky little thing called Christianity standing in the way of them becoming allies

Dude the Pope himself shills hard for socialism
Why do you say that? It's irrational to fear that the local mosque is indoctrinated children? It's irrational to fear your life will end by a bullet or truck or knife rampage from a brown man? No, it isn't. Because it's happening all over, as we speak
Joseph Thomas
If a religion can be used to promote feudalism or capitalism, why can't it also be used to promote socialism?

Religion has no place outside of a revolutionary critique of society. You can't co-opt it into materialism, but you can work with religious people. This is incredibly basic but some really stupid shit is being accepted for some reason.
Aaron Reed
also christian imagery is in the core of Chavez' cult of personality, you may not agree with his ways but he's a precedent of leftist tropes mixed with religion
Brayden Hill
very few will apologize for wahabbism either
Mason Taylor
They like to tacitly claim Islamic fundamentalism is justified on the basis that it's "anti-imperialist", or at least a very understandable reaction of Muslims to western imperialism.

Jaxon Flores
It probably is. Just like the current rise in neonationalism in the west is probably justified given the particular circumstances we have today. Or do you think it's all about goodies and baddies?
Well yeah. It's pretty narcissistic to think anyone gives a shit if you apologise or don't, dont you think?

no I just don't like it when christfags make me look bad & shit with their constant shilling. The idea of faith as we understand it now is a bit anachronistic anyways as I understand to project back onto the Bible. Faith (pistis) was less about believing God exists and Jesus is God, so much as sharing in Jesus's faithfulness to God. It meant following in Christ's example for how to rebel. In this sense, I would say a good christian has more in common with revolutionaries than with a lot of people who call themselves christians. I basically don't see the point in this sort of shilling on the part of Christianity unless they have a good reason.
Kayden Walker
Where did Jesus Rebel?
Also, do you believe in God?
Ryan Foster
I believe in God. yes. But I couldn't tell you much about Him, in part because I'm just not knowledgeable enough yet. I don't really believe in hell in the traditional sense though with the fire and brimstone.
Jesus's rebellion (perhaps it would be more accurate so say he explained how to rebel and that it is good to rebel) makes much more sense within the context of his time. First one should understand as Jesus said,
a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’'
Jesus had come to ignite a flame of rebellion and internationalism in a sense. His final act should be understood thusly. In being crucified as the son of God he subverted the Jewish nationalist belief that the Messiah would rebel on behalf of the Jews against Rome and rather opened the covenant with the Jewish God to the Nations (or gentiles). He also subverted the Roman worldview itself through his crucifixion and Paul carried on this tradition as Bernard Brandon Scott explains in his "The Real Paul," "The power of the title 'his son' derives from its juxtaposition with 'crucified by Rome'… To call the crucified one son of God challenges the way Roman imperial ideology says the world is constructed" (34). Of course Jesus never directly fought the Romans, but I'm not sure I accept as other Christians do that this is a call toward nonviolence in the face of authority. Rather he did what was more effective given the circumstances (his fairly small group of followers and the sort of Jewish nationalism that would have inevitably been a central part of any violent rebellion), he subverted the Roman worldview as well as Jewish nationalism in favor of an international movement.
This movement continued his anti-imperialist views and perhaps took them even further. It is likely that a lot of the traditionally Christian rhetoric we know now such as the word "Gospel" was in fact taken from Roman propaganda. It was a sort of ancient detournement.

lol. I guess so. Stirner's a bit of a meme philosopher tho. Anyways I generally believe it's in my self interest to live as if there is a God whether or not he exists in a sense. I think people who live by good ethics live happier lives.

Islamic terrorism isn't real. It's just a right wing buzz word to cover up predicable blow back to US Middle East imperialism
Nathan Peterson
Salafi-jihadist terrorism is a real problem; in Muslim-majority countries they blow up leftists and religious minorities, and at a much greater rate than they hit citizens of Western countries.
Noah Cruz
I believe that the abrahamic God is the most vile concept imaginable and I regard Abrahamism as an ideological disease that must be purged and even I recognise that Islamophobia (which is different from opposing sharia or critiquing Islamic theology) is a real thing.
Hudson Davis
If they blow up leftist then they almost for sure are being funded by Middle East porkies. Any "terrorism" in the Middle East is always funded by porkies.
Terrorism is just a proxy for feudal kingdoms like Sadi Arabia to fight rising liberal movements
Hudson Cox
Tbh I'd say it's a real thing. Of course, textbook religion is to be phobia'd because they're fucking insane, but practice is not necessarily the same. sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. Still, when someone thinks everyone who's a muslim is going to blow themselves up or decapitate infidels and thus treats all muslims as if they are enemies I'd call that islamophobia. However, liberals use the word like Israeli conservative media uses antisemitism and tumblr uses hatred of women.

You overcome religion through the revolutionary process of making people the masters of their own. It is a ultraleftist and infantile attitude to attack people for their religious believes. You may attack religious leaders, you must agitate against religion, you cannot allow religious people into the communist party, but you do not attack people based on their no matter how ridiculous beliefs.
Islamophobia is the right wing bourgeoise tool to distract the peoples wrath away from the material conditions and against working people of a different believe.
You're a reactionary with poor disguise, go kill yourself OP.

What if their religion stipulates the political beliefs of those people? Would you be happy to leave Roman Catholics to their own devices if the biblical text ordered them to enact the will of the pope and crush all dissenters?
