Loose moderation failed to provide the appropriate disincentive to shitposters. Instead everything is allowed until Mark personally objects to it. See for example the discord filtering itt, when Mark previously not only shilled for it but had it in the links bar at the top of the page, calling it the "official Holla Forums discord" as long as he was running it. He grew bored of it, so now it's not allowed, it's "cancer." Spoiler: It was always cancer. It's poor policy established under the pretense of "free speech" and "board culture," but instead it's turned Holla Forums into a shithole centered around Mark. And nothing about that will change because that idiot at the helm uses "discussing the issues with hotpockets" as an excuse to do nothing, while making changes unilaterally whenever it suits his fancy.

Good moderation is
Holla Forums moderation is none of those things. Every rule has exemptions and several threads have special unwritten restrictions applied. Not to mention the biases of individual volunteers. The lack of leadership is directly responsible for that.
