Hence, for the average person out there it was a simpler time of greater prosperity, healthier family bonds, better living, and, overall, more happiness. It was also a time of fervent patriotism as the Soviet Union was on its last legs, this was also seen as a triumph of the "American way," that the people had been living. Reagan just happened to be president at that time, so people associate him with good governance and "better days." This is very common in human political history, going back well before Reagan, people will form a personality cult for a former leader that presided over what were seen as "better times."

In relation to just about every other president in the modern era there's nothing more or less evil about him unless you buy into the false dichotomy of "super evil Republicans" and "Democrats as the lesser of two evils," so people don't really have a problem venerating him in that regard.

The top tier tax rate was lowered from like 85% to like 60%.
Bush cut taxes too but the realative change was less dramatic from like 60% to 50%
