Waku Waku 7

Tonight I was checking a collection of emulated arcade games with my BFF ans we discovered this Waku Waku 7 game.
At first we were like "meh, just another fighting game that is not a major one", and at the end we were fairly impressed. Not a great game, but a pretty good one, and it's pretty cool and has a lot of personality.
So I looked it up and it's coming to the Switch! What a weird choice for the console, this game.
Anyway, have you played it?

I doubt it will be released outside of japan. Keep shilling.

Dude, the Switch won't be region locked.

...

...

Yes, we. As in he and I.
What's your problem with it?

More like "insert my dick".

Played it a couple of times on fightcade with others and it's alright. Game is a bit busted once you start getting into it and the small roster kind of sucks but still fun to play and learn about. I think there were plans to put in Galaxy Fight characters and some new ones into a sequel of WW7 but nothing ever came out of that which sucks since it would of been fun to play on fightcade

I liked this guy.

waku waku

By busted to you mean Politank?

What other games have a punching bag as a playable character?

Feels bad man.

Requesting lewds of the telsa sisters

This & Twinkle star sprites are [art of the last 5 MVS games I still need, but the price is always too much for me. Hopefully I can get it as part of a lot or something. Does anyone here actually own this game?

Oh snap, son!

They fell so hard.

Well, Mugen has Bonuskun as a character.

SNK can make fighting games great again, maybe they can bring Sunsoft back out of the darkness. Maybe we'll see an SNK and ArcSys collaboration and get a new Rage of the Dragons.

Everyone is busted in waku waku 7.

Yeah I played it, it had pretty good animations and fantastic music.
I'd buy it on steam if they released it with good netcode.

Pfffff hahahah.

Can't say I personally like the music.

True, the cute robo-maid needs more love.

It's prequel ,sort of, named "Galaxy fight" made by Sunsoft too for the Neo Geo arcades. Where you can find proto versions of the Waku 7 characters.

Sunsoft relesed a collection version featuring both games for the ps2 but didn't include third one in the series called "Astra Superstars"

Can this thread become also a "Rare/Obscure/Not-Often-Spoken-Of Fighting Games" thread?

There are some Super NES fighting games I remember that are never mentioned, and there are some I don't even remember by name.
The SNES has a large collection.

You're just a furfag, kill yourself.

user, you can play it on fightcade with the best netplay available for free. www.fightcade.com

I think that's because the third one wasn't on neo geo and sunsoft just lazily emulated the old neo geo games.

...

Oh balls the characters are so HUEG in these games. I never fucking saw a character taking up 90% of the vertical space on the screen. I fucking love Sunsoft, whatever happened to them? Rights to the company got bought by Tecmo Koei?

Astra Superstars is better. Worth owning a Saturn for tbh.

Woah! Dude, not you have to back that up! It's one thing to say a game is good, and it's a very different to say what you said.
Extraordinary claim.

It's a pretty hot vixen. What?
The game is pretty lame, regrettably.

What a fucking terrible game. I emulated it a while ago, nothing feels good and all the characters look like shit. The mid-air combat style isn't satisfying, etiher.

No, it's not. It's shit. Panzer Dragoon, Shining Force 3, and maybe a few other games are worth owning a Saturn for. But Astra Superstars is not one of those things. Maybe the Power Instinct game and Asuka 120%, but those are also emulatable.

Her name's Tesse Ronbllozo, and she's 11 and very shy and have good manners.

...

The low amount of fanart of Tesse is a crime. There is seriously not enough of the cute robot maid and that best cute hairstyle that I never see anymore nowadays.

Worse: bad management choices (partnered with Sega right before their hardware division went under, then Acclaim, and you know what happened to that one. Their console library ended up with Nintendo (so a Waku Waku sequel will only happen with Nintendo's backing), while they're reduced to doing pachinko and mobile games these days.
