Well I got some bad news for ya buddy.
Every relationship, no matter how good, is a ton of hard work, and probably not worth it. Just like life in general you get pockets of awesome, but everything else is some degree of difficult or just downright bad.

A good relationship is hard to find. That's why the average marriage lasts about 5 years. If you can distinguish between a good girlfriend, a good wife, someone to date for now, and people to completely ignore then you might be on the right track. Fact of the matter is you spend the first six months at least lying to each other, then the next 6 months learning the truth, then another year or so to learn all their darkest secrets. This is usually when you either share to much and get dumped, or when they grow board and start taking you for granted, or start looking for the bigger better deal.

Honestly online dating is more successful then irl anyway. In either case it's not this magical thing that fixes you. It's this terrible thing that shows you just how broken everything else really is.

I agree, relationships are nice for the first 6 months which I call the honeymoon period and then its all down hill from there.
