Got done seeing John wick 2

How does Holla Forums feel about this?

I always thought Payday was (loosely) based on the bank robbery in The Dark Knight.

Do payday characters appear in the movie?

Also, in Hardcore Henry, when Henry checks for weapons in the locker before the whorehouse shootout, you can see Jimmy's mask. Can't say if it's just an Easter egg or if it confirms HH and Payday are in the same universe.

For what purpose?

Looks like it's payday for John Wick 2

I didn't know that came out. How is it? The first movie had great action scenes but everything else was ham.

Does that mean it also takes place in the hotline miami universe?

#BlueLivesMatter universe

True, I'm a sucker for revenge movies and John Wick was too busy establishing the protag was the biggest badass to properly establish the motive.

Didn't snobs get asshurt how the first movie wasn't even remotely trying to have a deep plot and was just a retired one man army snapping and hilariously gunning down an entire criminal organization just for killing his dog during a robbery?

Exactly. I really didn't care for the russian mafia kid or the boss and there wasn't really any buildup to speak of.
Plus they blew their load on the first half of the movie. The club scene was by far the best action scene, the finale was shit in comparison.

It does? At what point? I don't remember that at all

Also the Red Circle scene and the House scene from the first movie are still the best from both movies. The firefight in the Italian catacombs was just boring.

...

only autistic anons say that

stop posting anytime soon

Depends on how the nuke destroyed Miami in HM2. Scarface's mansion was also in Miami too, but it might have been rebuilt if it was ever destroyed then.

At least it would be more believable than Shadow Warrior and Payday being linked.

I didn't see any connection.

Might be just an Easter egg.

Payday was heavily based on Heat, though the clown masks may have also been taken from The Dark Knight. Payday 2's first trailer was an ode to that scene overall.

There's a JW 2?!?!?! oh snap!

Actually, they praised it for not having problematic tropes like the damsel in distress trope.

Fucking Overkill could be based as fuck, they could still hold my attention even with all the DLC whoring.
Instead we got Mayday.
Fuck man, I want to blame Starbreeze and 505Studios but I know Overkill was on it as well.

Was the movie good?
Were the action scenes well directed and the cinematography alright?
If so, who gives a fuck?

Any premise can make for a good movie or book. It just depends on how you go about it.

This

I want fucking action in my action movies.

tbh Overkill was pretty cool back when only PD:TH was out. Something must have happened between then and Payday 2.

big money got in, I believe.

3 things actually
They got money, a fanbase thats pretty autistic and a deal with Starbreeze who now owns them and 505Games who publish the console versions and owned a stake in the company as well before the Mayday incident.

The head of the studio was literally a DLC Director for EA. Steam specifically came to them about creating sellable content, this came back when the safes came out.

They hired David (((Goldfarb))), an ex-DICE dev, who wanted to make the game more like Dark Souls. To him, that meant making the whole thing a horrible fucking grindfest where you just move heavy bags all fucking day

Yes
Yes

JW1 was better than 2 imo

ROFLMAO xDDDD looks lIke yu ned to grow a BRAIN OMG hahahha the movie dindu ayn references to teh gaym!!1

gu see a DOCTOR goy!1!!!

I love this universe. It's like the Super Smash Bros. of crime and violence.

Don't forget Drive

I'd say the reboot would fit, but not the reboot's sequel. But all the lore in the sequel sucks anyways, so whatever who cares.

I don't think I was aware of that one. Where does Drive fit in? Somewhere with Hotline Miami?

Drive is a Nicholas Winding Rifting film, so it's much more subdued than anything else on that list. It's dreamlike and ethereal, user. Still a good film, though.Just like Neon Demon.

The Neon Demon was OK at best.

It wasn't Winding's best, sure, but it was certainly fit to stand next to Drive. The music was great, as was the Keanu Reeves cameo. And the cannibalism, necrophilia, and cultist stuff was pretty entertaining.

What are you ledditors talking about?

...

I saw it on Friday and I had a lot of fun. Most of the action was good, some scenes in the middle of the film annoyed me since Wick was fighting guys clad in black in a dark tunnel and I couldn't see what was going on, but other than that the action was well filmed and well choreographed.

PD2 has a fuckton of crossover addons.
Jacket from Hotline Miami is a playable character in PD2.

I give a fuck about me being spiteful.

boy oh boy cosmethics sure are cool.

(2)

Unlkely, Hardcore Henry was just an easter-egg riddled game, all nods to previous action films or video games.

Most of Biting Elbows (the guys that did the OST) music videos are shot in the same style. The film is pretty much just a long music video to them.

To appear cool and in the sekrit club.

Nuke destroys most of the US and Russia, according to Dennaton.

Since I'm talking about it, go watch Hardcore Henry. It's really well done action schlock with no bullshit regarding motivations. Shit just happens and people get killed.

Regarding the shitty crossover universe, fuck off back to Reddit. Just because a few films could be linked together as there's no conflicting lore, doesn't mean you need to be autistic and search for MORE CLUES.
MORE CLUES

Dubs and trips of truth.

I really don't care.

And yet you posted.

I like it. Never thought a crossover like this would work so well.

I think there's a fine line between the Reddit-tier autism that tries to connect Earthbound and Undertale, and "Payday 2: Featuring John Wick from the Hotline Miami Series." Ness and Sans being the same person adds nothing to either series, but if Tony Montana and Jimmy are helping the Payday gang shoot up a casino and escape by blimp… well, that's not helping improve any of the series either, but it's at least in keeping with the gratuitous schlock.

Counterfeit Heist from Payday 1 also takes place in Miami, just saying.

fuck off almir

That and the tie-ins are explicit.
All the evidence in the Sans=Ness theory could actually be pure coincidence, while John Wick, Jacket and Jimmy appearing as themselves alongside the rest of the Payday cast, helping them rob banks and whatnot.

Fug, forgot to finish post.
Anyway, John Wick, Jacket and Jimmy are explicit appearances of those characters, even if it's only impersonators, since to impersonate someone they must necessarily exist though it could be possible that John Wick, Jacket and Jimmy are also fictional characters in the payday-verse, and the characters are just pretending
Pure conjecture though, don't actually take that seriously

It's garbage.

or maybe OVK wanted to pander to fans of other games and movies to try and make more money

What in the movie proves this?

That's the real-world reason, yes, but people don't join crews of bank robbers so that video game developers can include their likeness in their game.

I don't. Payday is meme trash.

Pensacola is nowhere near Miami you dingus.

True but the house of mirrors cool as fuck

Drive had more personality shown of its cast than Neon Demon did. Neon Demon was literally cinematography porn. Those shots were fucking trippy. The things that they filmed were trippy.

Im not saying I hated neon demon, but if you decided to follow up drive with it your mind would just be full of fuck.

Chain mask graffiti appears in a scene for whole 1 second. That's the only payday reference

That's the only one I noticed

Does he gun down niggers in the new movie?

he stabs one to death

How is he going to have more posts than one if it's the fucking OP? Kill yourself.

John Wick suffered for trying to establish anything else other than how big a badass the protagonist was. The reason it was good was because like 10 minutes into the movie you just start having people being like "Holy shit, you pissed off john wick?" and being scared out of their minds. The moment they started trying to actually justify it, it only became less scary, because nothing can be as scary as what your imagination comes up with after their crazy reactions.
