Wasteland 2 Director's Cum

Is it worth playing? I know its not better than fallout 2, but still.

If you are really hard up for a post apocalyptic crpg I guess. It isn't really bad but it isn't good either. It's bland as fuck.

Pirated it and its boring as hell, all the gear and weapons have a linear setup where the next tier is just flatout better, and the leveling system is boring.Your better off playing fallout tactics, it does everything this game tries to do better.

Yeah, these. There's nothing that's really bad about it, and it's the closest thing I know of to a real fallout 3.
It's just so damn boring sometimes.

I pirated it too and yeah like said, it's fucking boring. I mean it's as close to modern fallout as you'll get but it's very barren in elements to interact with in comparison to older fallout games. I got kinda annoyed with the music too, it just seemed there weren't enough tracks and the same ones were 3mins long so it looped forever in areas where it took a long time to just walk from one end to the other with nothing to interact with.

I mean it's not bad really, but it's just so boring and uneventful. I ended up cheating when i got half way through LA because I didn't feel like leveling again.

...

it's fallout because fallout stole the setting and a gameplay ideas from it.
are you really going to get anal about comparing wasteland to fallout?

Go sit in the corner for a while and think about what you just posted.

i figured Holla Forums was giving oral, not getting anal

Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Do you know about the history between the two franchises? This is neo/v/ of which I thought I escaped leaving 4chan all those years ago.

And those are the weakest aspects of Fallout. Except the setting, arguably.

Made by the same company, user.

True, my memory is fuzzy. There's still more to the comparison than just it being turn based isometric though. Directors Cut tried to make it even more like fallout by adding precision strikes and shit.

I agree, the underage and/or newfag stink is starting to rise here again. At this rate it won't be long before we're inundated with the "Oblivion is the best CRPG because it was my first" types.

Play Tactics instead.

I don't know, the combat is my least favorite thing in original Fallouts. I play them for the amusing interactions. The isometric view is quite ugly, but the combat is even worse. To play a Fallout game with only combat would be infuriating.

It's pretty fun until you get to the last room in the game and realize that you need to have at least three snipers to beat the damn thing. Also I hope you weren't using one of two characters or both of them because fuck you player you should have known what would happen if you use those two characters.

Tactics is closer to commandos than to regular fallout.

If it's the combat that bugs you, tactics objectively has the best combat of all the isometric fallout titles

Pretty much.

Also try Cataclysm DDA, fags.

Fixed that for you. Unless you like having to scavenge for soap and vitamins because the devs have no concept of fun.

Dunno, I had no problems with experimental build.
Scavenging is at least 50% if not the whole point of the game.

Yeah but you shouldn't be penalized so harshly for not washing your fucking clothes in the goddamn apocalypse. Also if they are going to punish you for not eating right they shouldn't make it so goddamn hard to cook food. Like shit let me use one of the billion ovens in all the goddamn houses for fucks sake. I have to build a goddamn RV to cook food without needing to keep a load of wood on hand.

Dunno, after unreal world shit like food in cataclysm seems easy.

It's gay. Literally gay, complete with fursuits.

Play NeoScavenger instead, it's got decent depth and actually lets you have fun. As a bonus, it's not gay, has no fursuits, and doesn't require you to wash your clothes.

Does it allow me to build landrider and augment my dick? Or mutate my legs into additional dicks? Or does it even have spitters with unblockable attack which destroys my leg-dicks?

That game sold well, why is there no fucking sequel yet, ffs.

Worth playing? Yeah, definitely. It's a very solid turn-based isometric post-apoc RPG. It did literally nothing that impressed me or stood out in any real way, but it also did nothing that really disappointed me in any real way either. If you played Fallout 1+2, you know exactly what you're getting. It's slightly more polished in its presentation, just because it's newer, but it is very, very similar.

I will say, unlike Fallout 1+2 where it felt like the game was "PLAYER CHARACTER" + some guys that follow him around, in Wasteland it feels like your whole squad is important. It might sound like a small distinction, but I'd say this game definitely feels more like a game about minor exploration breaking up squad-based setpiece combat, whereas Fallout 1+2 felt more like some guy exploring this huge unique world and finding a bunch of little things all over.

Overall, 6/10. But if you like the genre you don't have a lot of options and this one hits all the necessary goal posts for a fun game, just never really exceeds any of them.

(OP)
It's ok. The big problem is that the overall story arch was clearly rushed. Individual locations are pretty great, especially those in Arizona. Cali is kind of a letdown, save a few places.

To be honest they do drop several hints throughout the game on why you shouldn't completely trust people with, let's say, certain enhancements.

My problem with the ending was that the Commander joined me in the final battle, but he bumrushed the enemy and got his ass killed. So when I did manage to win I got a bad ending because I couldn't do anything without him.

Nothing is better than fallout 2. It doesn't mean you should not play mother games.

He's making another game but I don't remember if it's Neo Scavenger 2 or not. If I remember correctly it's something about managing your crew in a spaceship or something.

I played Wasteland 2 for about 10 hours total. My impressions of the game can be summed up entirely with a single word: mediocre.

Depends on the day and the lotion at hand, really.

I own it
I had a game that was about half way through
there was an area where I was looking for an alternative option that a sneaky guy could use for like 30 minutes
but couldn't find it so I just murdered the boss and let the girl die
come to find out when I'm looting that it was hidden behind a wall and I had to rotate the camera 180, not just to see it, but to click on it because UNITY engine or some shit
decided fuck it I'll just start over
but I never played it again
and never installed it again either

it's boring and forgettable, dont get it

also these guys are right
