If you could bring back a series you like or do justice to it, how would you do it?
This is what i would do with Ape Escape

Does metroid count as dead? It might as well be. I would just remake super metroid and then id take that remake and all the mechanics and make new levels. Then release it as a brand new metroid game. I am sure most people would like that.

That or I could just give the it to retro studios again, and then id let Team ninja put samus in DoAX3 in exchange for a port of the game on the switch.

Make a new Starfox that's just Ace Combat reskinned with arwings, robots, and lasers. Make that shit control like an actual flight game and not arcadey, and free-range movement always. But keep the cartoony style and ridiculous setpieces and environmental things.

Starfox fans don't know what they want and keep asking for "64 but better." Nintendo doesn't know what they want and just try to please the fans because every time they change it up, they get tore a new asshole for not making it 64 again. But then when something like Starfox Zero comes out, that's a pretty faithful return to the 64 mechanics with some new levels that aren't awful, it doesn't sell because it's not different enough from previous offerings.

If they released one that was more of a flight sim/dogfighting game that allowed you more control, I think it would sell great and people would be surprised how much they like it. But they won't.

Funny how microdick would make more money if they would just remade the same game with updated graphics without innovating anything.

I'd start with 3 as a baseline and import features from the later games. Arcade mode like THPS3's mode where you do all the objectives in a set time limit, Story mode like in THUG, Free roam for just fucking around, and a fuckton of multiplayer modes.
I'd add a Mario Maker style level designer. As in you can easily make maps, upload them and have them rated. Either free-roaming stuff, score attack maps or maps with actual objectives. Think GTA5's gamemode stuff, but a bit more.
Arcade and Story mode can stay single player, but the other modes should be multiplayer. Have giant servers of 32 or 64 skaters goofing around on free roam maps. Have team-based versus modes, like CTF, team score attack and some kind of deathmatch. Have custom gamemodes, where you can define win and lose conditions for things like races.
The character and move creator could be improved too, though I'm not sure how. Soundtrack could be a mix of the older games, with some similar songs thrown in and the ability to play your own music.

I just want a good THPS with online. Imagine a Holla Forums group of black skaters sucker punching people to Moonman. I know the Pro mod exists, but an actual, non-shit game would bring in loads of players.

honestly I would have loved star fox zero if it had a nomral control scheme, I really dont understand why they thought that was a good idea.

although I would totally be in support of an star fox with just all range mode in it, best part of zero was the part where you fight starwolf solo in all range mode.

Yeah it took me until the final level to actually get used to the controls and then I did a second playthrough that was much more enjoyable. But modern "people who purchase games" think that if you've played something once, it's done, and move on. They don't even remember 64 taking like two hours to complete and running through it over and over in a quest for higher scores and alternate routes. They probably didn't even get to the ending once because they didn't give the controls a chance.

Is Thief considered a dead series? After the reboot in 2014. it might as well be. I would really like to see a proper third Thief sequel, but considering how Looking Glasses Studios was shut down, that would be unlikely.

I would say yes. I think it unlikely they'll release anything about it soon, unless they decide to do some kind of HD re-release of the first three.
I think it's more likely there'll be a new stealth title that'll be compared to and or inspired by Thief.

After the failures of both C&C4 and the cancelled F2P Generals 2/C&C reboot, it's safe to say the C&C is pretty fucking dead. If I wanted it back, I'd get it the fuck out of EA's hands, give it back to the former Westwood devs (Petroglyph and Jet Set Games), and actually make the Tiberian Twilight that they wanted to make.

even if these dumb extra mechanics aren't added, just keep the core of Jak and Daxter, give more levels, more trials/collectibles and a simple but effective plot. Just something that isn't muh guns muh vehicles muh plot muh serious business. not to say Jak 2 and 3 are complete shit (haven't played them in years), but they're definitely not true sequels and that makes me sad.

A part of me honestly wonders if Camelot's happier making Mario sports games than RPGs at this point, It just feels rather telling in how off Dark Dawn felt, as if they were trying to say they didn't want to make more Golden Sun (and since then have gone back to making Mario sports).

Wild ARMs should be revived using a cross between the hex battle system from 4/5/XF and Dragon Quarter's system. All tools should be dual function for puzzles and combat since both take place on the same map. Migrant level (ala 3 and ACF) determines if enemies will aggro you, if yours is higher than theirs they'll just ignore you. Bring back all the cool stuff 3 introduced as well, like the horseback battles, tank battles, jet battles, etc. None of that golem battle shit from 5, though.

I think that's a bit of a neat idea there, but you'd probably have to be careful of just how much changing shit up you do (depending on if it was meant to be a main series entry or a spinoff, anyhow), or even just how much inspiration you're taking from Dragon Quarter. I mean, looking at Dragon Quarter itself, I think part of the issue there was that Capcom had changed too much compared to the prior games, yet still opted to call it a main series title in Japan (it having been "Breath of Fire V" out there), leaving prior fans quite divided on it. Anyhow, I'd also add to bring back Wakako Ooba (Wild Arms 3, ACF, 4, Flower Thieves) as the character designer, as well as bringing Michiko Naruke back, either for sole composition, or working in tandem with Kouda, Agematsu, and Elements Garden on the music (not that those guys didn't do a good job with the music for the later games, but Naruke's presence was still missed).

On the off chance you somehow haven't heard yet Wild Arms is already in the process of being revived. As mobile shit, because Sony apparently doesn't feel it's a series worthy of their own systems anymore, despite owning it themselves. I guess they still sniff shekels to be had with it, but much more from the potential mobile audience than PS4/Vita owners (which is a bit odd; sometime back one of the Sony producers or whoever had expressed interest in Wild Arms 6 for PS4 or Vita; wonder what changed). To me, it's like Breath of Fire currently is: Not dead anymore, but not truly alive either. A zombie.
