we talkin bout games with dragons or games where dragons are a major element?
Either?
The I of the Dragon.
Don't even mention the most dragon-ey of games.
Dragon Age! Dragon Crown! Dragon Quest! Drakan! Drakengard! Breath of Fire! Reign of Fire! Blue Dragon! Legend of Dragoon! Panzer Dragoon! Spyro!
What is this autism?
Divinity 2.
So pokemon is ok?
Someone should make one about trains.
in EDF you can KILL dragons
it's the only interaction but it's the best possible interaction with dragons
Get out of the way for the OG dragon game, faggots.
Tail or hips?
thats not panzer dragoon
Drakengard and Breath of Fire. Skyrim too considering it has a big focus on dragons despite being completely shit.
Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown
Did somebody said trains?
Dragon Blaze
Dragon Breed
The ps2 was pretty good for dragon vidya. Dragon Rage was alright and had a titty-fairy companion as a bonus. Savage Skies was fucking metal.
Arohk was pretty cool. The second game was bullshit in some ways, though.
What is it with autists and trains?
Well, trains are pretty cool, I guess.
why not bouth
I don't remember why I gave up on Dragon Rage. Its been awhile.
As for another one, technically you get to play as a dragon in Divinity 2, and Dragon Commander. Dragon Commander kind of sucks for it, though, since its an RTS and has no real proper challenges for the dragon unless you play multi.
Patterns. Autistic people are innately drawn to cyclical patterns because it is mathematical and predictable.
It also goes fast. You know how autistic people like fast.
It shouldnt be fast, it should be slow.
...
pupils can change shape
BoF3 had the best dragons
...
So where the whole limbs number autism even came from? Who the fuck cares if fictional creature has two or for legs?
Bof4 has some fantastic dragon designs, and most of them don't even look like boring ass lizards with bat wings.
Dragons have 4 legs.
Wyverns have 2.
This isn't fucking rocket science.
That shit goes back to medieval times. Don't try and fight it, people back then had levels of autism only recently rediscovered.
GEE GRANDPA, DRAGONS HAVE 2LEFS AND WINGS NOW, DIDN'T YOU WATCH THE HOBBIT? XD
Says who exactly?
This, people need to check their dragon privilege.
Grass Dragon a QT.
Not my favorite dragon aesthetically by any means, but in terms of "dragons fuck the world" disaster porn, this is probably the peak.
A new anime came out, it is about dragons so yeah. Might explain things.
On the completely opposite note, in terms of media that was not the top but had really fucking good dragons, some of you might remember a movie called Reign of Fire which is basically Doom except instead of a space station it's a mine under London and instead of opening a door to demons they stumble over a hibernation cavern. It had a fairly mediocre Gamecube/Xbox game, but I loved it anyways because fucking dragons. I don't remember if you went back and forth or if it was two separate campaigns, but you got to play as both the humans and the dragons at various times.
It's also the first time I know of that any sense was made of the breathing fire thing in pop culture, described as functioning the same way as a spitting cobra's venom sacs, but spraying chemicals that ignite on contact with air instead of poison.
You know around the time that came out that looked great but man it played like dogshit. By Bahamut was that game slow paced as all hell.
I want fantasy trains.
haef train then. the concept art is too large to upload
just realized I unintentionally fulfilled the thread with a dragon train
What gaem?
Dark Cloud 2.
You call those things dragons?
...
...
Thank you user, you're a cool guy.
How would proper control mechanics for a dragon even work? How about gameplay? Air doesn't allow much of level design, does it?
Dragons are not flying all the time, they walk in their caves with all the booty when they pillage and burn shit
...
I can't help but laugh every time I see this picture. Anons have some fucking weird hobbies.
...
Dragon Commander is shit anyhow.
I just want some games that let me romance the dragon.
D&D autists. People who claim it's from medieval times are morons or lying. There are many old paintings of Saint George fighting the dragon, and maybe half of them follow the "rule". Getting upset about dragons that aren't depicted with four legs and two wings is like getting upset about gnomes that aren't depicted wearing conical red hats.
I'll admit, I actually liked the Reign of Fire film. The concept was pretty good, but I think the story/acting made it fall flat. But I do think if they re-did it, with modern CGI and actual army vs dragon battles that aren't in the dark, and put up a decent fight, then yeah, it could be pretty awesome. Or, it'll be an awesome-dumb movie, like Pacific Rim.
The claim is from traditions of heraldry and bestiaries.
"indeed, legs are an essential item in the heraldic definition of a dragon, the four-legged species being true dragons and the two-legged ones wyverns."- Pages 41 to 42 of "British Dragons" by Jacqueline Simpson (2001).
-t. D&D autist
How about Bahamut Lagoon? It had pretty good sprites for a SNES game.
I'm not a movie guy so all the movies I like are liked because of their very specific subject material and irrespective of their actual quality. So even though the acting wasn't the best, it's like the acting in videogames; yeah, could definitely be better, but not what you're there for. Usually. Though I'd be on board completely if it was done well enough to cause a craze and result in a chain of really good dragon movies in a row.
Other movies I have unironically enjoyed: STEALTH. Advent Children.
If true, I admit my mistake.
How does that prove anything?
It's a source by an academic specialising in folklore talking about dragons.
Admitedly though when it gets to the actual folklore stuff it varies according to accounts but 4 legs=Dragon 2 legs=Wyvern at least has some precedent outside of D&D.
Also an web page that I just found that seems to also prove this point (but I've no clue who wrote it so take it with a pinch of salt): blackdrago.com
It also labels wyverns and the like as a type of dragon.
Still, people act like some medieval committee came together and defined exactly what a dragon had to be, like there was actual science behind it. I honestly blame Skyrim. People wanted to criticize it for "not really" having dragons, even though there are many, many legitimate reasons to criticize the game over.
Wyverns and the like are dragonoids, as it were. Much in the same way you've got lots of critters in the same class, even under the same name, but they're not one in the same. I think ravens and crows are like that, aren't they?
