Well now I truly have zero excuse not to play the og titles.

I bought Yakuza 1 for PS2 last year and still haven't played it, how much of a mook am I?

did you mean this link you dipshit

videogamesplus.ca/yakuza-pack-yakuza-for-ps2-and-for-ps3-ps2ps3-save-p-24600.html

You are just trying to trigger some user to tell you "go back to reddit/cuckchan", aren't you?

Play it. It won't hurt.

When's 5 getting an actual physical worldwide release though?

Never

I like the concept of selling them as a single package, but Jesus.

Nigger, i have a chipmodded PS2 and a CFW PS3. You can keep this cashgrab, reprints of old games? Now that's what k call kosher

Saejima's jacket from 5 looks surprisingly good on Majima. Anyway I'm assuming most people already beat 0, I know it's a straightforward prequel but I want to discuss the ending. Kuze, Awano and Shibusawa turned out to be pretty likeable characters in the end. Sagawa was an amazing character throughout.

Kill yourself

...

...

look at dis gay ass nigga

you ain't ABAP

$180 for this, nigga just mod your PS2 and put a hard drive in it and then copy the iso's onto there.

Is SEGA intentionally trying to avoid making lots of easy money?

Reprints take far less effort, plus the sales generated from the reprints might help highlight that there's enough interest in the older titles to warrant PC porting.

Obviously just one look on the internet could confirm that, but you know how big business is - all the demand in the world doesn't mean shit to your average executive if it's not backed by a thousand and one different pieces of sales data.

Is that really true though? Handing your source code to a couple slavs and telling them to make some decent PC ports seems like much less effort and money on the publisher's end than reprinting copies and distributing them to different retailers.

The real answer is that SEGA, like all nip companies, is run by super old traditional execs because tenure has a ton of weight over there. They're not going to easily accept PC gaming even if it proves to be profitable (since it obviously has been for SEGA), they will resist it at every opportunity because it isn't the way things are traditionally done over there. It'll only get ports if the games become sufficiently popular in the west (which fortunately seems to be happening with Yakuza 0) and SEGA NA will try to get it done.

Shenmue was here.

Yakuza is pleb shit.

Shenmue is literally just Yakuza with the fun parts stripped out.

It's the Super 3D Noah's Ark of open world Asia simulators.

...

Shenmue is a meme

Assblated Sonyggers.

Don't worry, you'll get to experience III at least. :)

Go find some sailors, faggot

I don't even have a PS3/4, I merely played them on my roomate's last year. I will never give $ony a single $hekel which is why I so desperately want PC ports of these

I'm going to enjoy Shenmue 3 coming out and being Mighty No. 9 2.

PCs are for porn and work and consoles are for gaming. That's just the way it is in nipland. And don't even count on Yakuza getting any ports from the localization company when the Yakuza fanbase in the west is small to begin with.

As someone who owns both Shenmue 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast, even backed the Shenmue 3 kickstarter.

I had way more fun in Yakuza Zero, maybe because there is actual fun things to do like bowling, disco and karaoke instead of going to work, standing around asking people if they want to gamble or race ducks.

It's grown considerably because of Yakuza 0 so I wouldn't rule it out.

Holy shit this is like reading Gamefaqs

Yakuza is just the Batman games for weebs

Both fucking terrible

Except that Yakuza has good combat while Batman has "mash Y to win" Arkham's Creed shit.

It's gonna be so fun seeing the game come out, and watching all the people who buy into it because of the hype surrounding it, and finding out the game is basically just the prototype to every other side quest filled open world game with a story straight out of a mediocre asian soap drama.

I don't think Might No. 9 is the right thing to compare it to, I'm thinking more the Last Guardian, and game that was delayed so much, and hyped because of it, that it's gonna be impossible to live up to any of it and draw in a bunch of people who have no idea what they're getting into.

Sorry your bum bombarded that people own a console that your mom hasn't bought for you yet. Maybe if you ask real nice and wait for your Birthday to come along, you'll no longer be the fox pining for the grapes.

It's not very likely so I wouldn't hold my breath is all I'm saying. I will admit that 5 and 0 sold much better than anyone ever expected but there are other factors to consider like how niche the series is despite the growing fanbase and I think there was some speculating how they couldn't port the games becuse of licensing issues with the music.

Well, I sure hope someone's gonna share those DLC codes.

I could definitely see them porting the first game or something to Steam to test the waters, and if they did they'd probably tap into a sizable market worthy of porting the other games.

That's happened a LOT the last two or three years, particularly with niche JRPGs like Neptunia, Atelier, the Tales games, etc, and in every case it went from one barebones port quietly released pretty suddenly, to "the newest game in the series will be coming out on *main console* and PC simultaneously".

Are these actually reprints or just some site selling copies they gathered up in bulk? I didn't see something that made it clear. Maybe I don't know US to Canadian conversion rates but it doesn't seem cheaper than buying used copies of the four anyway, though if they're actually new then it's worth it.

Also, worth pointing out, you can currently buy Space Channel 5, NIGHTs, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi and pretty much every single worthwhile Sonic game, on PC right now.

Not to mention Sega developed or published series that are primarily for the PC like Total War, WH40k DoW and Company of Heroes.

Yakuza coming to the PC is really, really not out of the question, especially with how well the most recent games have been doing in general.

Is this what you redditors call trolling nowadays? Ohohoho, sad~

Right, smug anime girl dot jpeg accompanied by faggoty role playing, never seen that before, you got me.

U MAD BRUH?

The difference is, Inafking is a conman, while Yu Suzuki is a legitimately great game designer/developer, with such classics as Space Harrier, OutRun, Virtua Fighter and Virtua Cop under his belt.

Mad, no.

Fremdschämen, yes.

YEA U MAD

You haven't seen dick in a year and a half, if you have hope for this game being released and being a competent release I pity you.

O'rly?

That's nothing, you saw more from Inafune in less time.

It's not 2016 anymore, user. It's time to wake up.

Sega needs to take a hint from Atlus: When you do reprints, you make sure they're a good deal cheaper than that they go for used (IE: reprinting and selling a formerly $60+ game for $20-30). Where I live, at the low end of average prices, buying used copies of Yakuza 1-4 is cheaper than what they're wanting.

I mean…you're not exactly wrong. If anyone hasn't played Shenmue and they do so for the first time, they're gonna spend the first five or so hours playing a Mystery/Adventure game. Combat isn't nearly as prevalent as the advertising made it out to be.

I still fucking love Shenmue, though

Bump

If doubles Yakuza is shit

Might add in retrospect though that I'm not sure who's setting the reprint price in this case; my own experiences with reprints have mainly been Amazon vendors. Not sure if it would be Sega or VGP setting that price in this case.

so close user. I am with you, though. they might as well be movies, they have so many cutscenes.

Quick Yakuza 0 question.
I'm about to finish chapter 10 and Oda asks Kiryu if there's any unfinished business, which there is - I barely put a dent on the Media King's area. I've taken around 3 areas in one chapter and I feel like I'm rushing it. Question is: can we finish Money Island later?

I dawdled around, literally hunting Mr Shakedown. Otherwise, I wouldn't have the cash to go as far.

Still got like six more chapters to go. You can also pick up exactly where you left off in Premium Play mode.

...

I know there's 17 chapters but I was wondering if we're "meant" to finish Money Island at this point or, if until the end, Kiryu stays in Sotenbori.

I'm still not entirely used to the pacing of these games and it doesn't help that in these last 4 chapters, the story content can be done with very quickly.

Yakuza 0 was shit

No you don't really have a time limit on the event and you won't get stuck in another city, in fact you can travel between cities via taxi. You'll know when the point of no return is It's when Nishiki asks if you're ready to go to the boat in Tokyo bay.

Thanks. I was about to go full Shakedown hunt and get this over with.
Media King's properties are all close to a billion and take a huge amount of investment to rank up.

Funny how in a previous topic I was bawwwing over mean ol' Mr Shakedown running off with 26 million and now, anything less than half a billion, makes me feel like a poorfag.

Kek. Don't you have some Shark cards to buy, bucko?

Right there is when I knew you haven't played the game.

Everyone shits on how badly HD remakes are user.

They'd probably pull an "It's too late now" excuse if people pushed them more to have brought that set west, the way Namco did for Tales of Vesperia PS3 (which was admittedly back before the fan translation finished).

Wait a second you dumb cuck, you were actually planning on buying used games for a console from almost 2 decades ago?

Isn't that a little much?

Yeah, suuuuuure. I've been replaying Yakuza 4 because I remember the least from it and it's a fucking hell on earth for a completionist like me, I'm 30 hours in and I'm barely halfway through with Saejima (the second of four playable characters).

There's honestly nothing to do though. The arcade has about three playable games and each city has the same.
You've got about two-three other minigames that lose their fun extremely fast, a rock paper scissors minigame that stretches for far too fucking long and some mediocre micromanagement waiting game.

Unless the endless stream of repetitively dull combat (breaker spin to stunlock enemies and win instantly), or the arena which is just the exact same just in a different location count?
There's fuck all to do.

I could say the same about every other open world action/adventure game.

As an idort and long time Sega fanboy, I have to wonder what the fuck is wrong with Sega of Japan. I know Sega of America is retarded but there's something really wrong with their moonruned counterparts.

How to Fix Sega.

Step 1.
Fuck Microsoft.
Fuck Nintendo.
Fuck the PS4.

Step 2.
HD Remake everything.

Today, we will remind them why the console wars should have remained Sega, Sony and Nintendo.

From Space Channel 5, Shenmue, Blue Stinger, Slave Zero, Makken X, Yakuza, all of their glorious games from times long gone.

And for the love of God, can we get an Altered Beast with the correct sound emulation?

Step 3.
PS3 and PC releases only. Because fuck the PS4.

Step 4.
Include some promotional content from Neptunia or Hard Girls or even Yakuza motherfucking 6.

Admittedly I wasn't really into vidya back prior to Sega having to step out of the console business and going third party, but hasn't there generally been some notable divide between the Sega of Japan and the western divisions that was responsible for the entire thing? Basically, something like the Japanese side of the company having been shown up by the American one with the Genesis, and rather than stepping up their game, they opted to fuck over the western branch out of spite, ultimately crashing their console production instead? I could be wrong, just going off what I've heard in threads before.

Unfortunately it seems like at this point the only companies that have been localizing notable titles for the PS3 lately have been Atlus (Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Persona 5 upcoming) and XSEED (Trails of Cold Steel I & II). Other companies that used to be big on the PS3 for various series (like TK for Atelier, or Namco with Tales) have jumped over to only bringing the PS4 versions over despite the games having been multiplat natively in Japan, and some developers have jumped to PS4 only (Falcom even showing signs of abandoning the Vita for it as well, since last I heard, Cold Steel III is going to be PS4 only). While I would certainly like stuff like Yakuza 1 and 2 HD coming over for the PS3 to be a possibility (bit sad it didn't happen, between standing Yakuza 2 prices, existing official scripts that could likely have been easily inserted, and perhaps even having JP dub Yakuza 1 as a perk to market to series fans), I highly doubt there's much interest from Sega, or many other companies, in continuing to localize for the PS3 at this point beyond what's already been announced (at this point mainly Persona 5). I'd think that if any HD collections/rereleases are to be done in the future, they'd sadly only be released on current gen systems.

...

PC release?

Wait so are they getting a reprint in the whole world or just in canada and for that one site?
I really wanna buy Yakuza 2 but I'm europoor

Get a load of this gaijin

It's just for that site, they contract for reprints of atlus and sega games all the time. Like they did a reprint of Infinite Space and a bunch of other DS and PSP games a few months back.

They ship worldwide, but the game will be the North American version

well that's fucking shit

GORO ;_;

It was a great ending. He was a complex character in 1 but every game they just keep on adding depth to Majima's character and this ending tops it.

Amazing they can resist that 66% cut of 5 bucks

i liked goro since the first game and was looking forward to being able to play as him for ages and this knocked it out of the park. the game was so god damn good I really say back and breathed it in once the last cutscene closed out

its frustrating to hear the 6 is getting panned by the japs when 0 was so incredible on all fronts

The wait continuous.

Wasn`t Japs supposed to be smart?

You'll never see a Bloodborne PC port, and probably not an MGS4 PC port.

fuck, importing these into US is gonna be a expensive, isn't it?

It's color coded, fives are blue, tens are purple, twenties are green, fifties are red and hundreds are yellow/gold.

You never know, with Konami being the kikes they are.

It's quite possible that Kojima has the source code and data files to make remasters of MGS4, and Konami can't modify the game. Because of that, they wouldn't create a new engine to play the game on PC because it would mean leaving his name in MGS4.

who is this i need a new show

Fuck off.

Shut up and take my money! I can't find their patreon account pls help. Do they have a kickstarter project? I think they should have minimum price + the option to pay as much as you want to support the developers.

Might be wrong, but given the anchor on the apron, I'd wager it's likely something KanColle related.
