I thought the reason everyone hated NWN2 was because of the absolute shit mod support compared to 1. Pretty much no one acknowledges the main campaign for either game, minus expansions.

I don't think that's why people hate it so much as to why it never became extremely popular to begin with. The hate is either because of the ending, grievances with certain characters, or else the filler crawls in the middle.

I remember playing with people around the time it came out. It was the modding changes 100%.
