Classism within the so-called "left"

Why is it that communes and other so-called "socialist / working-class / anti-establishment" organizations are so unbearably burgeois?

Case in point, all the communes I've looked into in New York will N E V E R accept a single mother, because they won't be as "comitted".

Same for reading circles and college organizations. It's always the same upper-middle class kids raised in the suburbs. The children of immigrants or the first generation college students are never actively recruited, and as a result only people from muh privileged backgrounds join them, while the actual working class remains untapped and uninformed; I can assure you that this lot will never movilize for anything that is not good selfies for instagram.

Another example that comes to mind were the OWS protests, where the cooks refused to feed the homeless (you know, the actual 99%) good food because they weren't "contributing to the cause" unlike the yuppie bitches from Long Island.

How can we deal and approach this?
As you know, this is also a current problem within American politics, while the racist right is actively recruiting among the working class to spread their cancerous ideologies.

I can't in good conscience join """revolutionary""" circles when its only composed of people who have lived in muh privilege their whole lives.

Stop hanging around liberals OP.
Problem solved.

Found your problem

Duh. I'm pretty sure very few here are actually part of an organization. Though, I've been part of trot group that had actual working class oldies. Unfortunately, they were just as larp-y

I think we should just listen to zizek and wait for a miracle

Lifestylist fucks like that are worthless OP, just move on.

I fucking hate communal living. In FALC, everyone gets their own apartment with kitchen and bathroom. Fuck bunkbeds and fuck room mates.

Single mothers are pretty pathetic though. Not going to lie.

pathetic as is worthy of empathy?

Working lass organizations and communities. We build organizations geared towards working class kids and their issues in the form of Berniefag shit and slowly redpill them into becoming socialists. The community part will be doing shit together to promote a sense of camaraderie, and maybe get some of the thirsty nigga here laid.

Gulag yourself lifestylist

I went to a lefty school. The liberal establishment and such actively singled out only the most ambitious conformist type-A students in the school for further indoctrination. They were usually offered the floor during assembly to deliver strident speeches about MLK. The others were discouraged in this direction and actually given anti-left poison pills.

Leaders of left have always come form a background of good breeding labor aristocracy. For examples you can look at Lenin,Trotsky,Castro etc. etc.

Thalmann? Stalin?

Where else will you get leftists?

Immigrants who had to work to get what they wanted would never become leftists.

Eastern europeans, indians, chinese, japanese etc. these people would never become leftists.

Explain the trade unionism among European immigrants at the turn of the century, then.

Makhno? Durruti?

they werent that good leaders

But the working class is racist, sexist, islamophobic, woman hater and transphobic.

now is not then

Because they have leisure time and education to ponder societal problems and agitate for change. There were still plenty of others who came from more pedestrian backgrounds in spite of this: Rocker, Goldman (though technically petite-bourgeiois), Bookchin, Proudhon, Bordiga (I think), Tito, basically everyone in the early American labor movement that wasn't DeLeon, and many more.

Also they were both competent. I'd say Makhno moreso than Durruti: both were good military leaders for what forces they had at their disposal, but Makhno actually was in part responsible for really building up the movement that he helped lead prior to the wheels of revolution turning, as well as writing some actually decent works of theory after the Free Territory fell. Durruti's heart was in the right place mind you, but he had always been primarily the muscle of the CNT-FAI rather than its policy guide.
