The problem is the large numbers of unverifiable cases that roll in where we can't justify dishing out bans. Threads spotted with posters who make 1-5 posts and then disappear forever (possible VPN users), usually posting borderline material that we might have taken action against if we had a verifiable history of such activity.

It all started with some random user posting a /left/ general on 4/pol/. It got linked here because the users over there were throwing a fit, and I guess it just became a running gag due to how grievously it upset the "hard right" identity to the board that they've taken for granted. This is because there isn't one dominant viewpoint and people are very divided.
