Nasty question: ostracism

What's your opinion on ostracism? Is this an example of direct democracy? Fascism? Socialism? Anarchy?

If ostracism is unacceptable in any form?

If it could be used, how and when should it be used? Should ostracism be strictly apolitical or should be used only in the context of accusing people of (political) crimes and determining their guilt?

P.s. I'd like to see your position (ideology), if possible.

Maybe it's because I have no friends and no social life but I don't like the idea of it

Just sounds like an excuse for normalfags to bully people

My ideology is probably a libsoc

Direct democracy. Applicable in the others listed.

I could see it being used as a method of kicking someone unpleasant out, like say kicking nogfnazi out of the commune because he was creeping everyone out.

Flag is closest to ideology.

Would you mind elaborating?

I mean, even laws are made (in theory, at least) by "normalfags" with specific intent of bullying certain categories of people. The idea is that some people should be bullied.

Even Fascism?

What about kulaks? Would this count as punishment for success?

I'm obviously assuming that kulaks - people to be exiled - were determined primarily by local population.

it would be used to unfairly target famous people I think

Not okay

marxism-leninism

But then how do you determine if somebody has actually done something wrong or if the community is at fault? If this is a working person how can you deprive them of their means of production?

Some people need to be dealt with. Nobody needs to be bullied

you mean mine

might makes right

Why pottery shards? Recycling or purpose made?

In modern society it is too easy for elites and ideologues to manipulate the public. Enforced ostracism would just be used in proxy by the powerful to get rid of dissidents and political opponents. Even if modern society wasn't like this it has to be accepted that a large portion of the public are easily manipulated and swayed. Ostracism could maybe work as intended in an ideal society full of educated people, but the fact it only works as intended in a utopia underlines that it is not viable in any realistic scenario.

"Hey guys let's all go DEMONSTRATE why we hate Alexandros in an extremely public affair that ends with potential banishment!"

Everyone had pottery, many people likely had broken pottery laying around. It's not like they had papyrus.

It would be no different to capitalism or any other class system. It will end up with a select few enforcing their will and views for their own benefit.

Nobody should be bullied.

Fuck, why are humans such cunts?

Sheep following opinionistas

Ostracizing people worked when humans lived in tribes because any problem people would be gone (and might fuck up competing tribes even), but in a unified and connected world they're just going to bump into other comrades. Instead people should be rehabilitated if they cause problems.

My ideology is anarcho-syndicalism to build up resources with comrades and then full anarchist revolution to build communism. Would ally with statist leftists to help overthrow capitalism but would otherwise leave them alone if they left me alone.

I like you.

Hey comrade it sounds hokey but we all have to get along if we're going to overcome capitalism.

Wish there more people like you around user

I think pretty much all of us know that feel. I'm slowly bringing up more topics like this with my friends without pushing anything on them. I can see immense potential for class consciousness but first you have to get past the training that status quo is god.

At least you have friends.

There's that but even then friendship suffers from alienation.
