What's the socialist thing to do here? I always be a proper tech and in the end decide not to lie about the unit, but I have lied when I was working on someone who was super wealthy

I guess all you can do it go by whether you think the person can afford it, and/or how they treat you. As you say realistically this is how the business works but I'm sure you can tell the difference between some overworked single mother and an arrogant rich prick. Some people would say 'there's no ethics in capitalism, don't be a lifestylist' but whatever.

I don't know what is the socialist thing to do, but my personal ethics about work is performing the task as best as i can and earning my life on the side. I don't discriminate not give favors to my patients based on their status. I consider the money i make must correspond to what i did, not more not less.

thats it my boy

So if I just think socialism is a good system, I'm a socialist? Even if I live an average capitalist life?

You actually work for a living and you're a Commie? What happened? Are you a faggot too?

Do whatever works for you. If you feel bad cheating someone, then dont cheat them. If you need the money, then go ahead.
If the person is an asshole and you feel vindicated in cheating them then also, go ahead.
If they are a nazi, go ahead (and leave the gas leaking).

Seconding this question

I'm a commie Because I work for a living. I realize the waste most of my workload is (due to planned obsolescence and sometimes my own need for money). And also I realize alienation is a thing and I hate it

Also Russel brand was the one who started me on leftism lmao

The socialist thing to do would be to seize the means of production. There's no such thing as socialistic outside of an economic perspective. Ethics exists beyond ecenomics. You can make your own decision about what the ethical thing to do is and not believe that it has anything to with how you think society and the workplace is structured.

Why would you take advantage of the wealthy? Not a very equal thing to do.

hello Holla Forums, lurk moar.
We're not about equality at all, we (the workers) are about seizing the means of production.

Sad. It should be about both.

Won't somebody think of the rich people? Equal rights for the rich and poor means significantly lesser rights for the poor, inevitably.

OP, I would do what you're doing. Big house, big yard, Hummer H1 and kids in expensive private college? "Yes, ma'am, you'll need a new unit."

fuck off you faggot

I said I don't agree with that you dumb shit.

devious

you certainly hold apathy towards that position, so yeah, fuck you.

...

I just understood that picture after like two days because of the weird comma.

The free market would never allow this
it's VOLUNTARY
SO THEY MUST BE CHOOSING

VOLUNTARY

Please explain more If you're an unironic ancap.

yea, just try to help leftist movements/parties
in fact the richer you are, the more you can help
but if you're too rich you'll be accused of being Illuminati by the right

see

obviously if they were smart they would pay someone else to get second maybe 3rd opinions
spend money to save money

Hey OP im a general contractor. Im not my own boss but my "boss" is a good friend who does all the work with me and we manage the finances together. He takes on the jobs and though he isnt a socialist in the sense that he doesnt care about politics he is viciously opposed to ripping people off despite that being standard practice as you know.

Our policy is mostly as this user described . We charge fair rates (much less than most people do) for most customers, but if someone is clearly wealthy and lives in a bougie suburb they get the "market price".

As a comrade in the same line of work I will say that you should be entirely honest with as many customers as possible, and instead of charging to replace the entire system just tell them the situation and charge a little more if you need more money. In my experience most people recognize and appreciate the sincerity.
