Yeah, lot's of doujin manga come from Comiket. But there's also videos, music, games, and merchandise.

Sometimes they sell unfinished games, i.e. demos, or resell deluxe versions at later comikets. I think you might be thinking of sky lens which looks similar to Sakuna and came out in different version numbers at several comikets.

Sakuna is the first decent game to show up (44:36)

Anyway, I'm more interested in the neat swag you can get at comiket and how it compares to western coms. I know there was some cool shit at the Tokyo Game Show but I don't know what you can get at comiket.

I just didn't want the casuals who don't pay them to detail the thread by turning this into the thousandth western vs eastern games thread. We only get to have a good comiket thread with knowledgeable otaku twice a year. That said I'll share my 2 cents…

My view is that western indie games are such because they're often about preaching a leftist message/feminazism, subverting expectations on gameplay, or making money. Japanese indie games are about fan-service/domestic waifus, traditional gameplay, and are sold at barely above cost. They aren't activists and care more about following their muse and having fun making games.

There's a lot of repeats, feels like I'm watching the summer trailer again. Sakuna still looks like the best thing in the whole bunch. The flying VR concept looks decent, kinda comfy. Cambria Sword still has good music but I'm not entirely sold on the gameplay. Lost Future Omega is obviously trying to be Rez but seems to be missing the mark. The only ones aside from Sakuna I want to play are 跳霊の剣, 天空のラプソディ, and 重竜騎兵ドラグアームズ.

I hope there's more fresh stuff for C92, I always watch these trailers with great interest but this batch is a little disappointing. Lots of fodder for shmup fans though.
