The game was designed around "not screaming in the middle of a restaurant", you can customize only 1st chat tab, player messages appear on screen including cut-ins which, while immersive, also clutter the screen so any active discussion in lobbies causes a lot of information clutter, do that in important areas and it becomes something you at least I want to stay away from. And remember your average MMO global chat, it's often of B1 quality, at least not as concentrated as B1 wonder why they aren't banned yet. As for nip/gaijin thing, I've seen retards on both sides but I can only understand one so the other seems better. Anyway, I'm all good as long as I'm not on B1, I feel sorry for new player though…

Most 12* are random drop, those that are not are title rewards for 800, 900, 1000 titles and one for clearing Amdu UQ. UQ 12* are easiest to get, milf 12* are rare but I got one already which is already more than I got from PD.

I had zero problems learning basic stuff.
Only affixing and character building require supplemental reading, and affixing does only when you get to the end game.

I'm not finding any "literally handholds" for this and I'm assuming its because Summoner is a new class. I'm just jamming candy into the slots and eggs into the pets and I'm not sure what the candy does(or how to fuse candy, I think I read something about that but then I found nothing about it).

Summoner is the most skill intensive class, you're not supposed to play it from the very beginning.

SU is a pretty long story but basically you eat an egg, the egg is a pet, you use the pet as a weapon and put candy into that pet's grid and feed it other eggs to level it up.

Upgrading is called grinding in this game. In order to grind a weapon/unit, go to the shop area and talk to Dudu/Monica. Prepare to rage as you discover with each successive grind the odds of a success go down and even de-grinds can happen.

There are two good news to this, one being that there are items you can use to minimize your risk, the second being that NT type weapons only require being fed other weapons to grind up. You'll want to use weapons with the Emper Embrace affix as fodder for those to get the most bang for your buck.

The difference between 0 grind and +10 grind is heaven and hell so do that ASAP once you got something you want to keep around.

Rare untekked items can be tekked by going to Chiara in the shop area (right next to Dudu/Monica).

The only thing you can really fuck up is feeding mag with wrong shit, fixing it is PitA. You can fuck up build but you get all skill tree reset ticket every balance patch for each character, those are rare though iirc there were 2 balance patches for ep4 but long-term it wont be a problem. If not sure about the build just get the base/must have stuff.

You can check ingame what items look like on the player shop by selecting them for purchase. Also, if they're in a curent scratch, by selecting them on the price list. What you'd normally do is go to swiki, then copy the runes and look them up in the player shop to see if they look good on you. Note you might have to change to a non-layered costume first to actually see underwear.

Yeah matching the DPS of other weapons is what I was concerned about. If it's just 5-10% worse it'd be fine, but the way I remember it was that if you took it into anything endgame you'd be so far behind everyone else that you'd turn into an anchor rather than someone helpful.

It's slightly more viable than it used to be because of the huge powercreep making Arks all around much stronger than what they are fighting, but it's still pretty fucking bad compared to any of the proper weapon types.
You can solo absolutely everything in the game using a Gunslash though, so I'd say it's perfectly viable. Go something like FI/HU, throw your Gunslash on, pop Limit Break, and just learn to dodge things.

To be honest, gunner gives almost no benefit to summoner except extra PP regen since chain is hard to manage on a lot of bosses, and sally/popple take care of that just fine without gunner sub. Braver is okay if you're decent at hitting boss weak points (not weak element. This is a highly important distinction to make. Weak stance only applies to element when using techs). Personally, I sub techer because of the utility like super treatment and element weak hit since I don't have to stance dance. I see a lot of summoner/fighter these days, and I can see the appeal since fighter stances do apply to pet damage.
As for the skill tree, you're making two big mistakes right off the bat. First, you're going to want to max out everything that has to do with pet sympathy. It's a 20% damage boost when they ask for shifta or resta, and with all of that stuff maxed out, your pet is pretty much guaranteed to ask for stuff within seconds of a boss fight and keep asking through the fight, meaning that damage boost goes up fast and stays up.
Second, you only need to put five points in point assist. At 5, the skill cools down immediately after its effect wears off. You really don't need more than that. Aside from that, your tree looks fine. While I don't personally like alter ego due to certain pets being wet tissues in the defense department (bird, dragon, I'm looking at you), I see a lot of people use it. Also be aware that if your allah ackbars (malon explodes) while under the effects of alter ego and aren't subbing hunter with maxed out iron will, you're guaranteed to die.

Yes, but that can be circumvented through crafting. Extend a weapon with the "add class" items, and they will be usable by anyone.

While this fag isn't wrong about extending, many weapons naturally come with multi class built in. You'll want to seek specific weapons that are good for your needs if you're going to use off-class weapons like that though.

Also, you'll only be able to use the Photon Arts of the weapon if your class or subclass matches.

Oh and, extending isn't viable like that anyway because you can only extend up to 11* weapons. In addition, a great success on a weapon extend may add additional classes to it without you having to use any items.

Depends on weapon, most and usually the best 13* are mainclass only, though there are some that are very good like hyper sunlight TeBo boots, those are the best boots for TeBo. Overall sega is too careful with subclass weapons even with 10% mainclass weapon bonus which was a huge hit on Fi main multiclasses, wish they were as careful when buffing certain unpopular classes.

Yeah, the purpose of weapon crafting is to make any weapon as powerful as a high-tier 11* weapon. At high craft levels, crafted weapons do have a higher damage variance, but that doesn't come into play anymore since everyone has over 600 dex now with endgame gear and class titles. However crafting has been made mostly obsolete by the addition of new type weapons that can't be crafted and are generally stronger than similar OT weapons. Before, crafting a red weapon for leveling was fairly popular, but leveling is so fast now it's probably not worth it anymore.

Extending weapons is currently outdated and you shouldn't invest any big money in it. 12* and 13* outcreeped the best crafting can achieve long ago.

GS is perfectly viable even without LB, LB only makes it op like everything else when using properly.
Real problem comes from other weapons having "I win" button, sometimes two, that you can reliably use in any given situation and it will bullshit you through with the best results, while GS still doesn't have anything of the sort.

Also spamming LB in solo XQ actually makes sense because it is SOLO quest. You're in fully controlled environment where you can keep track of everything where nothing is random and other people's bad connection doesn't affect you or the enemies.
But spamming LB in something like UQ or second phase of PD usually results in some random piece of shit scratching your ass from behind your field of view for sweet 200+ damage, and no amount of skill or reflexes will help you.

No, the real problem is that GS does not have any support skills in any class at all. Having skills that support the weapon makes all the difference between it being viable and it being totally shit.

If you're HU sub it's not a problem. If you're not HU sub, you can take the Unbreakable mag skill and just run with with. In addition, when you're LBing as FI/HU a 200+ hit is typically not enough to kill you.

It's unreasonable to expect a 100% dodge rate, but you don't actually have to dodge 100% of the time, and in a MPA you can just take the risk to do more damage and simply accept a moon after that.

I experimented with it some years ago, basically having mag only stocked with it, 8 or 10 of them, little shit never revived me in 2 or so months of deliberately dying in all possible scenarios.

It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 10 for proc chance, you get one roll per skill, then it goes on CD regardless of result, after that you can get another roll with another skill if you have it.

Unbreakable isn't the mag revive skill anyway.

Is pure attack really that important in end game? 13* weapons from collection files already have huge atk stats compared to 12* ones, wouldn't it be better to affix for pp, as it is effectively your action points, and hp and/or defense instead?
Is difference between +60 and +100 attack on weapon with 1500 own attack stat that huge?

Defense and HP are worthless unless you get retarded amounts of them which just isn't possible without giving up all your capabilities to deal damage, which you obviously do not want.
Getting a solid PP pool is important for your burst damage but once you bottom out and don't have enough downtime to get back up to 100% again it doesn't do anything for you anymore, it's still a good very offensive stat to invest in though. Attack is straightforward.

Can you go into more detail? I'm trying to search around for why and how those stats are useless, but there doesn't seem to be definite answer.
I mean there this "don't get hit lol" flying around, but realistically you're guaranteed to take damage in most situations and with low hp/def you're left to be relying on other people's revive items, which they sometimes just don't use.
And if you're soloing something, death usually means a failed mission.

Basically it boils down to there being a lot of safety measures built into meta builds that allow you to negate/avoid damage. Things like Katana Combat giving you 20 seconds of invul, or iron will giving you a 75% chance to avoid a fatal hit and plenty of invul after that make HP and def somewhat redundant.

That said, I don't personally think having a bit of extra HP on your affixes is a bad idea, but I do think def isn't so good.

You want enough PP to do damage during stun/burst phase without getting PP starved, this way PP equals damage as you can do more damage before stun ends, after that you're free to regen PP via normal attacks or orbit if there's no one to attack.
Def comes from +10 units. HP is easy to get but Hu/Hu sub doesn't really need it because automeme + MH scrub enabler if you rely too much on it, good tools if you know you can do more damage when needed by facetanking some attacks, you can run without those for that extra s-atk because it's easy to block with melee but if you can you won't really need HP either. Keep in mind that Ra needs both MH and automeme because Ra has to facetank. Other classes can survive at least one, maybe two hits without Te buffs x1.5 or more hits if you have those and heal during pause or using some leach weapon/tech, the only exception is Fi where you want to survive at least one random hit during LB while dodging all major attacks by getting a combination of HP/def/allresists without sacrificing much atk or PP. You can also try to git gud or rely on iron will and hug floors because RNGesus wants you to.

Overall you want to learn to defend/dodge because getting knocked down or flinched interrupts your attack and wastes time on getting up/healing instead of doing damage, dying is even worse because someone has to waste time too on reviving you and you also lose buffs. By the way, movement and positioning is just as important as defense because when positioned right some attacks won't even hit you and movement and use of movement PAs as well as step jump ring with orbit lets you start doing damage and/or start regaining PP with normals faster.
So in the end if you want to do more damage you want to learn how to not get hit which is why people tell you that.

Actually dual sabers get lengthy PAs too, so it feels more like Hu weapon rather than Fi, that mostly has lightning fast or invincible PAs.

Some basic beginner tips: Don't feed your mag until you know what you're doing. Choose any race/class you like, race stats aren't really relevant so go for looks and you can change class at any time. Fixing mag is shitty, fixing build is to wait for balance patch for at least 3 free skills resets, just get core skills to be safe, fixing character look is somewhat easy because salon passes are quite frequent. Don't be afraid to use exp and 50tri boosts to level faster, especially during Emergency Quests. You can check /vg/ OP pasta for useful links and information.

Of course, it's subjectively the best MMO out there which is not saying much but the game got some serious updates in graphics and gameplay as well as nogaems4 support.

The characters in PSO2 are not related to PSO1's Ragol. PSO1 things (outfits, weapons, etc.) only show up as extras. PSU is a different dimension, some characters came over as a special event. The universe is the same as the original PS series but the only direct connection so far is one scout who says you're not headed towards them. Both Dark Falz and Profound Darkness show up, so that probably means the PS/PSO1/PSO2 universes are the same but everything takes place in different places. Overall, don't expect any strong ties to PSO1 to show up unless they're saving it for later.

For example, Xiera is completely robotic- she mentions she's only two years old and was manufactured as part of a series who all manage various Oracle ships- while Lisa is a cyborg. Regardless, it's probably an example of parallel development, much like PSU having Casts while explicitly coming from a different dimension.
