I remember reading probably on Wikipedia that Trotsky was inspired by Esperanto's green star in order to make the socialist red star. Anyone ever heard of this?
Why didn't you wrote your post in esperanto instead of my second language?
Esperanto is a corpse that doesn't knows it's dead.
"For this reason I believe that those who envision a future world speaking only one tongue, whether English, German, Russian, or any other, hold a misguided ideal and would do the evolution of the human mind the greatest disservice. Western culture has made, through language, a provisional analysis of reality and, without correctives, holds resolutely to that analysis as final. The only correctives lie in all those other tongues which by aeons of independent evolution have arrixed at different, but equally logical, provisional analyses." — Benjamin Whorf, "Languages and logic"

Absolutely nothing. It's an ugly artificial eurocentric language that was banned in USSR. Speak Russian and your native language and foreign languages of your choice, or die.

It helped me a lot when I was in China. It's more popular there and for some reason, unlike English, they are able to speak it without an indistinguishable dialect.
